Unravel Two introduces new mechanics on the already excellent gameplay of the first chapter. It's necessarily less evocative, with some locations not so exciting, but manages to make you fun and feel deep emotions.- The Games Machine

Going Under perfectly combines the Rogue-lite genre in an irreverent and sarcastic environment. The frenetic and immediate action with a good level of difficulty without ever being frustrating goes hand in hand with a fun and ridiculously original story, a real breath of fresh air for those looking for a solid dungeon crawler without necessarily having to rescue a princess or recover fragments of some cursed artifact. A must-play if you love this genre of games, and also highly recommended if you want to give a try to a nice action game able to make you laugh between one kill and another.- The Games Machine

The Last Faith is an exciting and lucid video game, the son of two souls capable of chaining players to the chair and doing nothing else. In this sense, the work focuses on this: to increase a playful depth that incredibly manages to impress fans and beyond. You will never do without this nightmare again.- The Games Machine

The King is Watching integrates city building, strategy, and resource management into a seamless and incredibly satisfying gameplay loop. A few tweaks would be nice, but it's still an original experience that exudes passion from every elegant pixel. It's like when the boss is away at work and you take it outrageously easy, with one difference: here you're the boss; you're the King.- The Games Machine

The Survivalists is a fun survival sandbox which can be played both as an arcade adventure, hunting for every treasure and secret hidden around the island, and with a more casual approach by trying to just build some kind of boat and leave. Plenty of situations to face, a huge amount of structures, artifacts and recipes to unlock and experiment with. Each run will be an unique adventure. Monkey training is the icing on the cake. Pretty, fast and responsive, it will keep you in front of the screen for a long time.- The Games Machine

Inspired by a piece of history that most people never heard of, Last Train Home is a competent mix of management and RTS gameplay, although the stealth mecanics leave something to be desired. Those eagerly waiting for Frostpunk 2 should consider adding it to their Christmas wishlist.- The Games Machine

The musou genre set in the world of Zelda is once again a success. A top-notch cast delivers a story that feels a bit familiar but manages to captivate and excite. The gameplay remains a bit monotonous and suffers from some balance issues, but the many elements and characters introduced throughout the game manage to freshen things up and provide constant stimulation to the end credits... and beyond.- The Games Machine

Game Garage Builder is wonderful. Nintendo has come up with a new programming language made up of hilarious characters, tasking the player with having them interact with each other to code their games. A real video game laboratory, where you can experiment and learn with a smile on your face.- The Games Machine

House Flippers 2 is a simple game that couldn't be simpler. While it focuses on simplicity, in fact, and on a fabulous and effective game design, it manages to blend in a fantastic way with a context that gives emotions and leaves you with a smile. Yes, that's right: just like Unpacking.- The Games Machine

Escape From Duckov transforms the intensity of extraction shooters into a brilliant and surprisingly solid parody. Behind the ironic nature of armed ducks lies mature, well-balanced gameplay, capable of blending accessibility and tension, lightheartedness and constant stimulation. The loop between raids, extraction, and progression works brilliantly, aided by a pace you're solely responsible for and a refined technical package. If you can't live without competing against other players or don't like the idea of grinding in the later stages, it might leave a bitter aftertaste, but it remains a fresh, intelligent, and characterful experience, recommended for everyone, especially anyone drawn to extraction games but steers clear of them due to the PvP component.- The Games Machine

Overall, Pillars of Eternity on PlayStation 4 is a good porting of an excellent RPG, very complex and deep. It's a tip of the hat to a certain genre of games, and someone could be disappointed by this old-school approach, but it will definitely win the hearts of the adventurers looking for some heavy stuff.- The Games Machine

MotoGP 20 gets even better, with an even more responsive, solid and fun gameplay that pushes you to improve continuously, lap after lap. The career mode adds an interesting managerial layer while the AI is not yet completely convincing. An excellent racing game, the best motorcycle video game on the market.- The Games Machine

I like to think that Phoenix Springs is what happens when talented people who do not work in the video game industry decide to create a video game, without knowing or following patterns and rules that we now consider axioms. Maybe that's not the case, however, it feels like it, and that's still a good thing.- The Games Machine

Star Fox Guard is a real-time tower defense, with the crazy Japanese touch that you can expect from a Nintendo product. The game proves to be very original, challenging and addictive; the level editor paves the road for infinite replayability, and the price is absolutely right.- The Games Machine

Botany Manor is a dense and emotionally charged work, designed to bring the player to live in the shoes of Arabella, a young woman who rediscovers her career, finding her own affections. It is a well-crafted and time-conscious production, with well-thought-out and satisfying puzzles. In short, a really convincing test.- The Games Machine

Mediterranea Inferno, from a gameplay point of view, is a solid visual novel in which the choices left in the hands of the player lead to radical turns, really giving the impression of being in control of events. However, the quality of the writing and the ability of its young author to deal with complex and multifaceted themes with great maturity, awareness, and courage in taking clear-cut positions (which should be common ground in 2023, but that's another matter) should be even more emphasized.- The Games Machine

Aliens: Dark Descent is a more than good real-time tactician, who manages to find the right balance between the proficiency in the marine weapons trade and the need to play smart and avoid confrontations when possible. In short, definitely a game that manages to respect the atmospheres that one would expect to encounter in the narrative universe popularized by Ridley Scott and James Cameron.- The Games Machine

An excellent job of renovation and gameplay modernization for one of the finest horror games of the PlayStation 2 era. Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake takes the original title and brings it into the modern age through targeted gameplay enhancements, new storylines, and top-tier audio-visual production—all of which bode well for the future of the franchise. Minor technical and balance issues persist, but we are confident that these will be largely resolved through post-launch updates.- The Games Machine

Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is a metroidvania with art direction reminiscent of 1990s handheld games and a huge map packed with puzzles, secrets, and backtracking. The system of upgrading via contracts is original and introduces significant strategic choices, while yoyo tricks offer a variety of approaches to exploration and combat. The level design is precise and the badges allow you to deeply customize your play style. A brilliant game, with attention to detail and full of nerdy humor, it doesn’t revolutionize the genre, but enhances its features.- The Games Machine

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does everything it has to do in the best possible way. Or rather, almost everything: unfortunately the plot is negligible and the characters have the same charisma as a puddle. Beyond this, however, the structure of the semi-open world is very complex, the combat system is much deeper than the average of the genre, and the platforming borders on excellence. A return in style for one of the most beloved franchises of all time.- The Games Machine

As a longtime fan of rhythm games, Rhythm Doctor was a pleasant surprise. It strikes an effective balance between a charming, playful tone and a strict, unforgiving design built around precision timing. The controls are as simple and immediate as they come, supported by a strong selection of songs and musical styles, and a light but engaging story mode. The intentionally quirky pseudo-pixel art look feels somewhat unnecessary and disconnected, yet remains oddly appealing. With extensive options, a solid level editor, and a very active community creating custom songs, Rhythm Doctor offers impressive longevity for players willing to embrace its demanding nature.- The Games Machine
