There is no particularly remarkable title in the entire Sparkle franchise. Even then, Sparkle Zero feels like the most barebones execution of the creature-evolving idea. With no quest system, creature variety and different environments, there’s no reason to start from zero here.

Heroland is very much a good concept rather than a good game, far too many shortcomings and and a lack of active gameplay make this a tough one to recommend. Unless you’re starved for things to play, look elsewhere.

Drago Dino is a game that hardly works and even when it manages to get past a loading screen the gameplay offered is poorly executed and not enjoyable.

The Drama Queen Murder under-delivers pretty much across the board. Hunting down items is the best bit, but even that isn’t as good as it should be due to the dark colours and squinting requires to spot everything.

Ritual is an overpriced and, unfortunately, very lacklustre game on the Switch with few redeeming features. As a game that can be started for free on mobile, this title is hard to recommend to anyone unless already a fan.

If you're looking for a first sports fix for the Nintendo Switch, sadly RBI Baseball 2017, the first sports title to come out on it (after NBA Playgrounds, at least) isn't the one you should go after. With FIFA, NBA and WWE on the way, chances are you'd get far more bang for your buck from going with them.

Possibly the worst game to grace the Nintendo Switch, Troll and I really is something that you will want to stay away from. If you are daft enough to spend full price on this, then I simply have no sympathy for you. It's a shame, as the premise could have made for fun - if everything else in this game wasn't so god damned awful!

Super Ping Pong Trick Shot is a game you probably wouldn't even buy on a mobile device to waste a bit of time, let alone a dedicated gaming system. It's cheap, but so are some other eShop titles and your money is better spent elsewhere.

Car Mechanic Simulator is free on phones, but £14.99 on the Switch eShop. Just play it on the phone – you won’t play it more than once, anyway.

Goosebumps: The Game is the epitome of cynical cash grabs - a game riddled with poor writing, nonsensical puzzles and bland visuals, you'd be better off just reading the books.

Kentucky Robo Chicken never reaches its potential. Whether it is the finicky controls, boring visuals, repetitive music, barely-there story, or the repetitive tedium of the gameplay, there is always something holding the game back. At least it runs well on the Switch.

This anthropomorphic zombie point-and-click adventure game may come across as a Happy Tree Friends title, but its slow-moving story and irritating cast unfortunately won’t excite you for future episodes in the series.

There’s truly so little fun to be found in House Flipper, where ugly graphics, awful controls and some tedious UI all combine to create something far too dull to recommend. You’re better off watching paint dry.

Mochi Mochi Boy isn’t exactly a bad game; it is just a pointless one. The gameplay is derivative and nothing about it warrants the time it’ll take to download, let alone the price. If you’re a real puzzle devotee, you should probably just stick to Wario’s Woods and save yourself the fiver.

SpyHack offers none of the thrills and spills that you’d expect of a game based on espionage. Lame gameplay, a litany of grammatical errors and miserable controls make for a really disappointing experience.

JigSaw Solace is not a good game. The controls are bad, the presentation is a joke, and the overall package is something I couldn’t recommend unless you were absolutely desperate to do a jigsaw puzzle. Save your money.

Vegas Party is a game that you do not want to buy. If you really want to experience the casino culture, take the money you were thinking of spending on this game and go to a real casino.

This robotic Metroidvania-by-numbers is sloppily assembled, lazily designed, and controls like the rust’s setting in. Dedicated speedrunners may find a modicum of challenge here, but I found Two Parsecs From Earth a frustrating experience from start to finish.

On paper, the concept behind Blindy was something worth exploring. In practice, it is a frustrating, shallow and uninviting platformer that would have been better left in the dark. In the battle of expectation versus reality, neither won here.

Loot Monkey: Bling Palace pales in comparison to the many other indie platformers out there that do what it does better. With an unreasonably steep price tag for its content, and mundane gameplay, the only real joy I got was from playing as the cute monkey protagonist.

Hollow Knight this is not. With a flawed control system, dreadful music, and painfully unfair platforming, this is a game you will want to end as quickly as possible. Thankfully it is over in about an hour.

Dongo Adventure is cheap, but what is the real price to be paid to play such a bad-looking, broken, derivative game? There are countless better ways to spend your time and your money, really.

Tiny Racer is a painful drive. The graphics show promise, but there are so many flaws; it is hard to enjoy the ride. This is a terrible game. I’m getting out the car: I’ll walk from here.

Skee-Ball seems more than happy to resemble an early-2000's flash game instead of a unique take on the arcade classic that it represents.

Just a Phrase by POWGI is among the dullest games on the Switch to date. The soundtrack is cute and the game runs well, but you’ll spend so little time with this one that this means next to nothing.

Modern Combat: Blackout is a soulless experience. The campaign is repetitive and dull. The Switch might be lacking a military shooter, but Modern Combat: Blackout is still best left on mobile devices.

Clash Force does little to justify its existence outside of being an almost competent attempt at celebrating both earlier cartoons and games. Impersonating others whilst failing the carve out a niche for yourself is never a good recipe for success.

Rock 'n' Racing Grand Prix could've been an excellent sequel to my least favourite game of 2017, however it becomes an early contender for my least favourite game of 2018 by worsening the slightly redeeming features of its predecessor - I'd recommend avoiding this game.

Little Shopping is a very bare experience, reflected in its price. It’s the price which saves it from the minimum score, as you can’t complain too much at 35p.

Broken Blades promises a blend of platforming, roguelite, and RPG. Sadly, behind its Scribblenauts-style cartoon sprites is ultimately a lazy game. With so many other 2D platformers on Switch, playing Cast of the Seven Godsends would be like choosing to eat wood when you're surrounded by a candy shop. It might be earnest in its attempt to pay homage to the classic retro games of yesteryear but it stumbles at almost every hurdle.

Street Power Football fails to deliver in pretty much every area. It’s let down by its poor graphics, poor gameplay and bugs, making the £39.99 price point almost laughable.

Despite being based on a classic 2D puzzler, The Snake King fails on almost every level to find a new direction and breathe new life into this tried and tested formula. The few mechanics it does introduce aren’t enough to keep you engaged for long.

Defoliation deserves no place on your Switch. It's a poor attempt at a visual novel, littered with shockingly translated dialogue and boring puzzles. Avoid!

Aluna: Sentinels of the Shards sadly doesn’t offer anything of interest. Its uninspiring story, gameplay and combat leave the player wanting more than what they got which is a shame because it has so much potential.

ESport Manager takes a good premise and manages to present a game with little to no redeeming qualities. You won’t find responsive gameplay, ease of use, rewarding strategy, or anything invoking the culture of Esports in this title.

Guess the Word is really poor on all fronts. Light on content, entertainment and education, it doesn’t have a place on the Switch eShop.

The guys who approved My Riding Stables – Life With Horses need to take a look at themselves. It’s lame, no fun and brings nothing to the Nintendo Switch game library.

Dexteritrip fails in every area. The controls are disconnected, forcing an obnoxious difficulty. The visuals are dull yet still confused and so this game isn’t even worth its low price point. If it was free it would be a waste of storage space.

Panda Hero is an abomination of a game and is fully deserving of a bad review. We feel sorry for the collectors who have to pick it up.
