The successful Mario Kart formula has been given new elements which fit the experience perfectly and the chaotic gameplay experience, whether solo or multiplayer, is all a player could ever ask for, whether a veteran or a newcomer. Topped off by an irreprehensible visual performance made possible by the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, an exquisite soundtrack and fine tuned, sharp controls, Mario Kart World is an absolutely indespensible game for any owner of Nintendo's new system.

Bayonetta is back and the long-awaited third game not only builds up on the excellent formula of games past, it goes one step forward and adds new protagonists, experiments with elements of other genres, improves on its plot structure, and allows all kinds of players to enjoy it, creating an experience that's both familiar and fresh, as well as accessible, thrilling, gorgeous, and enveloping. Bayonetta 3 is a fantastic addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue and it deserves to be on everyone's collection.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time starts off rather slowly, but it quickly shows us what the game is all about: doing a lot of things in a simple, accessible, and most importantly, rewarding way. Its myriad tasks, whether combat, crafting or hoarding related, joined with the exploration and the plot make this a delightful experience that we find ourselves getting back to all the time, and it all fits nicely as it should.

With greater freedom to explore, more emphasis on strategic choices, a gorgeous visual environment, an absolutely exquisite soundtrack, fun and charismatic characters to choose from, and an overall perfectly tuned gameplay experience, Sparks of Hope is a fantastic addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue and one that will make many players happy.

It's still one of the very best 2D Mario games ever, and now it looks sharper and performs better. With that said, the new additions are fun but they did not give the experience a greater creative and qualitative edge. The multiplayer minigames and single player training challenges are welcome, as are the difficulty and assist options, but those who know the original well enough might not see this Switch 2 version as a significant improvement over the original. Especially when the original is already so good, and fairly recent.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdow combines the freedom of exploration seen in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom with the claymation art style of the Link's Awakening remake. It then tops it all off with a new and creative mechanic, and gives us Zelda as the main protagonist. The ever-expanding echoes mechanic is a marvel when solving puzzles and in combat, and it quickly becomes a key part of the gameplay experience. The gorgeous art style and exquisite soundtrack then wrap it all together in what is yet another Zelda classic that fits perfectly in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

It goes out of its way to make it the absolute and definitive version of Yakuza 0, building on every element of the game and making it more enjoyable, more ambitious, and an overall better game to play, without forgetting its many side quests and hustles. It also shows what the Nintendo Switch 2 can do, and delivers an experience that performs at a very high level without ever compromising its quality. Yakuza 0: Director's Cut on the Switch 2 is one of the greatest games of narrative action ever made, and a textbook case of a bridge between the past and the present.

Its narrative structures are very well implemented, and the characters' story arcs fit nicely with the overall plot, and its combat mechanics, group management and skills also stand out for all the right reasons. Overall, this is a very recommended game not only to those about to begin their journey in the Trails series but also to those already familiar with this universe.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak brings a great deal of improvements to an already very good game. Thanks to the new added monsters, the Switch Skills, the Master Rank, the new abilities for each weapon and overall improvements to the experience, Sunbreak helps making Rise the ultimate Monster Hunter game on Nintendo Switch.

Minishoot' Adventures shows how it's possible to pair experiences from twin-stick shooters with those of a 2D adventure metroidvania and build a marvelous, fun game out of it. Simple and clean, Minishoot' Adventures has the frantic combat of a twin-stick bullet hell shooter coupled with the exploration of an adventure game, and it all plays out very naturally, piquing the player's curiosity about what enemies we'll find next or what unexplored area and new objects we will find.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe brings another Wii U classic into the Nintendo Switch and while the experience could have been improved with a full visual upgrade and the use of touch-screen controls, there's nothing here that is not a marvel to look at and to play. This edition has a double job to do: appeal to fans of the series and conquer new players, and it fulfills both jobs with flying colours. Hopefully it will also open the path for an entirely new Pikmin game on the Switch.

A Space for the Unbound is an adventure game that stands out for its absolutely gorgeous art style and memorable plot that brings in a bag of difficult themes for the player to come into contact with. As far as its gameplay goes, this is a rewarding experience featuring a great amount of puzzles, but its pacing is not what most players would expect, and often it's possible to be facing too many redundant tasks. This means that seasoned adventure game fans will feel more at ease with A Space for the Unbound, whereas a broader segment of the public might be put off by the way the game advances.

A stunning audiovisual world coupled with a ton of content to explore, even more objects to inhale and an impeccably executed co-op component make this a fantastic premiere in a genre where we too often think the last word has been written - it has not, and Kirby is here to remind us.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins performs remarkably well on the Nintendo Switch 2, and brings its healthy mix of massive scale battles and straight-forward action in a sharp and competent way, with no let downs and hiccups. Fans of the Dynasty Warriors series have plenty to look forward here and can expect its hallmark features along with a very captivating plot. Other players might start feeling that the action turns repetitive after a few hours, and the lack of a multiplayer mode is hard to justify for fans and newcomers alike.

Thanks to its varied routes, marvelous audio environment and well designed difficulty curve, this work will have the player trying over and over again until the downhill course is finally cleared...only to then be given a more difficult route to cross. A unique challenge that more than deserves its praise and attention.

Shin Megami Tensei V brings the main series back after six years, much to our delight. If the game's plot and level design could use a bit more work, its excellent combat system that keeps all that's good from the previous games and adds very welcome improvements, open world exploration and soundtrack make this an instant classic and an absolutely indispensable game with RPG fans.

Lil Gator Game invites the player with its charming presentation and a no-stress and accessible gameplay approach to an adventure game, only to leave its marking with marvelous writing and delightful storytelling that deliver a touching and unforgettable homage to the powers of childhood imagination and friendship. Truly an indispensable gem in the Nintendo Switch catalogue, and a game with a soul that can bond with anyone.

Beacon Pines is a charming indie game that puts the player at the centre of a fairy tale adventure as it develops one chapter after another, with our acts having consequences on the game's plot. While the game's focus is not on an action-packed experience, the lovely art style and soundtrack and the way it balances between a kid-friendly look and gloomier and sinister environments makes Beacon Pines a thrill in its own league.

It doesn't quite stand out for its originality, but the gameplay experience is more than satisfying, with frantic action, a good visual world, enjoyable soundtrack and plenty of cheesy dialogue lines. With an additional layer of fun if played with two players, Huntdown on the Nintendo Switch is a recommended game for anyone looking for a fun and action-packed arcade experience.

The game does a great job at grabbing the player's attention and provides a fitting audiovisual environment, but its gameplay can often feel repetitive with a course of action that gets dull sometimes. For a game that makes use of so many dialogues, Oxenfree II is not always able to deliver the most interesting exchanges, and its plot development turns out to be more linear than it seems. Fans of plot-heavy games with mystery settings still have plenty to enjoy here, though.

Strange Antiquities is a charming and enrapturing mystery solving game based on strange and unusual objects of the occult. In the role of the apprentice of an antiquities shop owner - or rather, the apprentice of a thaumaturge - players are going to navigate through descriptions and hints about what specific antiquity the clients are looking for, as well as carry out some detective work outside the shop to find more of these unusual items, all while the entire town seems to be taken over by distressing phenomena. Simple but with plenty of new things to find out, including nine different endings, Strange Antiquities is a charm to fans of mystery-solving games with a touch of horror.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is fully aware of the Virtua Fighter legacy and holds it up high with plenty of technical skill and mechanic depth. Although based on a game released twenty years ago, this edition delivers an experience that will tick all the right boxes with fans of intricate fighting games, though it is less welcoming of newcomers hoping for a simpler style. Online play has also been improved, thanks to rollback netcode and crossplay, which help make this the ultimate version of Virtua Fighter 5, where all the hallmarks of the series can be found at their finest.

Trails of Cold Steel III is a very ambitious game in terms of plot and lore but it really couldn't be no other way in this series. If the fans will be delighted to mire in the game's content, improved interface and combat system, it's also not any less true that Trails of Cold Steel III can feel intimidating for players unfamiliar with the series, and as such they might not enjoy this effort as much as long-time fans, who will find a long-lasting work to wrap themselves with.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined gives the game a whole new modern look while keeping faithful to the Dragon Quest spirit and identity. Thanks to its absolutely charming looks, outstanding quirkiness, and better pacing than previous versions, this remake strikes a good balance between nostalgic appeal and giving new fans a big welcome, which would work even better if its difficulty level was more demanding and its mechanics more complex.

Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch does an irreprehensible job at bringing back a 16-bit era gem and gives the source material a modern treatment that's able to delight any Mario fan. While it does not revolutionize the RPG genre, and its relative ease and short length fall short of the expectations of hardcore RPG enthusiasts, Super Mario RPG is a marvelous experience for those with a soft spot for the Mario universe, and its adaptation is brilliant, from the improved mechanics to the new challenges.

We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is everything that could be expected from a remaster that enhances its source material. Every single thing here is an absolute delight to the senses, from the impossibly crazy and bubbly soundtrack to the level design, the sheer pleasure of rolling more and more, and the high-grade visual adaptation, We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is an undeniable gem in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Thanks to the slick dynamics between the team members - kept together by a fairly interesting plot - and to the level design and enemy placements, each mission is a serious test of our concentration and problem-solving, and the use of the titular shadow tactics will prove very important at tackling some of the most difficult moments. Blades of the Shogun more than earned its place in the Nintendo Switch 2 catalogue.

Nobody Saves the World is a charming action RPG with a beautiful visual style, accessible and welcoming gameplay, and a great variety in how we handle its dungeons. Its mechanics are simple enough for any player to grasp but that doesn't mean its difficulty level doesn't get demanding. Nobody Saves the World is a fun and ambitious gem that goes beyond the label of an 'indie' game and which will fit nicely in any Nintendo Switch.
