Not a game for everyone, that's for sure. But a fun, deep and rewarding one, that shows, more than its age, the emptiness of many contemporary titles.

Want something to soften the wait for Dark Souls 3? DarkMaus is the game for you! A miniature Souls-like game, and even a pretty inspired one, considering its resources. It’s hard, compelling and dark. Try it if you love challenging titles.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is a wonderful puzzle game shrouded in mystery, with a deep story about lost memories and the complexity of the mind.

Releasing a game as Japanese as Tomodachi Life in the West has been a brave move from Nintendo, and I think courage must be rewarded: this doesn't mean the game is flawless, but will keep all the ones that are looking for something unusual to play on their 3DS busy.

Field Of Glory II is one of the best wargames you can have, another great work made by Byzantine Games.

Reanimal once again proves, if proof were even necessary, the strong authorial identity of a development studio finally unleashed, free to express itself without softening or diluting its vision. Reanimal is an auteur horror experience: deeply cryptic and not easy to decode, yet a bold and genuinely rare work within its genre.

There's almost nothing new in Just Dance 2014. From a technical point of view, the game is substantially identical to last year's game. Yet, thanks to a plethora of modes and songs, the total value of the game is quite high.

Despite a control scheme that's anything but perfect, Apotheon is a fun and a memorable experience: the gameplay is brilliant, and the whole product is absolutely artistically inspired. This games stands out as a true piece of epic poetry, and it's something that you really have to play.

Ghost Recon Shadow Wars is one of the few good game of the Nintendo 3DS launch line up. A strong strategic turn based game that will keep you playing for hours.

Who cares about the episodic release when Hitman Season 1 can offer a compelling, smart and entertaining experience, just like Hitman games should do? The gameplay is strong and, despite a plot that is lacking deepness, the season is fun and some maps, like Sapienza and Hokkaido, have a lot of replay value.

Dragon's Dogma is a good game, a successful mix of action and role-playing with great creatures and a nice setting. Unfortunately it also has some technical issues.

We would have preferred a greater freedom of action for the levels, rather than the linear and driven that we've found, but they are trifles for a title that deserves to be played at least once.

You already knew what call of duty is about. A linear story mode with a lot of scripted scenes but with a frenetic and fast-paced multiplayer, unique in its genre. Year after year this is the Infinite Ward formula but with the next gen knocking on our door we were expecting much more.

Content-wise, it is anything but exceptional, and survives only thanks to the variety of its gameplay. The fineness of the game mechanics and the quality of the experience with friends, however, are so high that we find it difficult not reward it.

Doritos Crash Course 2 is a free platform far more valuable and interesting than expected. It has a more than decent graphics, offers a wide replayability of the levels, has a good longevity and does not take advantage subtly of in game purchases.

Where puzzles meet stealth gameplay and augmentations - there's Deus Ex Go. The game stands out for the brilliant level design and the amazing art direction, but its attempt to tell a story is completely forgettable and the stages have no side objectives to achieve.

Return to Monkey Island is a perfectly judged return of an instant classic for the genre, with just the right level of complexity and challenge, aside from some minor quibbles.

A game with amazing atmosphere, and one of the best post apocalyptic settings around. Unfortunately it's also an easier and more streamlined experience compared to its predecessor, at least at the base difficulty level. 4A Games could have chosen the survival road, making this a truly unique and challenging experience. By going for the "safe" choice they created a good fps, but not an unforgettable one.

The Wonderful 101, in all likelihood, is going to become a cult classic. It's not perfect, it's not immediate and, above all, it's not the game that will turn Nintendo Wii U into a successful console. But at the same time, it's a game with many great ideas and way more than 101 wonderful moments.

This is a well-thought sequel that builds over the foundations laid with the first chapter and deepens the RPG aspects, while getting rid of some rough edges here and there. If you love Isayama-san's work, don't miss out on this one.

You Have to Win the Game is a wonderful tribute to the 8-bit age of videogames. A traditional retro-style 2D platformer oriented to exploration and backtracking, that turns a demanding challenge into his own distinctive sign. It will be loved from those gamers that were born in the 80’s.

While Gothic sails away to other developers, Piranha Bytes turns the tide with this return to the origins of true RPG. Deep, polished, compelling, Risen is an RPG for RPG true lovers. Some small glitches and a general lack of accessibility make it step down a little bit on the score, but it's still THE game to have if you love RPGs.
