Legacy of the Void is hardly a milestone in the RTS genre, but it is a nice bookend to the trilogy. Blizzard has finally fulfilled its promise to StarCraft fans.

Star Wars: Battlefront is beautiful to look at, but too primitive at its core.

Fallout 4 is an OK game if you treat it as an open-world first-person shooter.

While Heroes 7 shows promise and some good ideas, there is so much mess on the technical side of things that you should wait a few months before opening up your wallet. Although, after what happened with Heroes 6, there is no guarantee that Ubisoft will iron out the bugs.

While other developers of sports video games (namely EA and 2K) develop for PC alongside PS4 and Xbox One, Konami decided to port a past-gen version. So, PES 2016 is pretty much the same as its predecessor — it’s not a piece of old junk yet, but it should have stayed on the sidelines.

The first expansion to The Witcher 3: Wild Heart is hands down the best expansion of this year.

Transformers: Devastation is a spectacular, but oh so short and casual amusement ride.

Skyhill shines during random events, as the developers created many tricky, unique situations that will force you to make some very tough choices.

Random chance plays a huge role in Armello, and the players rarely interact with each other. It is interesting to discover new strategies at first, but soon, after you stumble upon the optimal winning strategy, you realize that there is nothing more to do. The multiplayer lacks variety (just one mode without any settings), and the single player is just same, only with AI bots.

If you’re willing to put up with its cartoony characters, Super Mega Baseball is the best baseball game for PC in a long while.

It’s not the worst RTS game I’ve seen in my life. It’s just bland and pointless.

It all boils down to this: One Piece is just not a fun beat-‘em-up game.

Ugly locations, absurd puzzles, feeble attempts at horror, and a lame ‘quiz’ at the end of each case… I was expecting a moving story, but I got only two short boring stories instead. Incorporating a new technology in a video game is a great idea. But you have to make a decent game first.

For a game billed as “A Space Trading Adventure”, Cosmonautica is too darn easy. It took me just one hour to amass enough fortune to roll in the dough for the rest of the game. And it’s all thanks to a dumb, single-cell economic model.

Kyn seems colorful and promising at first, but in reality it’s unbalanced, derivative and downright boring.

The Stanley Parable was a brilliant satire on video games. The creators of The Magic Circle picked a different target — not games themselves, but people that work on them. And, unlike those “walking simulators”, there is plenty of fun stuff to do.

They should have released Dream Runners as a DLC for Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. On its own, it is a bare-bones multiplayer-only game without a semblance of story or even a tutorial.

Metal Gear Solid V is amazing at times, and I enjoyed playing it, but there are so many embarrassing blunders and contradictions. Rich tactical gameplay vs an almost dead world. Fun HQ management and interesting characters vs an unfinished narrative and boring side quests. In some regards, this is a huge step back from previous Metal Gear games.

Orcs have been redressed as punks, and the rest is just another rehash of what we’ve seen in Batman: Arkham City and the Assassin’s Creed series. Every time I ascended in a hot air balloon to survey a new area and open it up on the map, I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time.

Until Dawn is a crash course in branching narrative, pumped with adrenaline and pure fun. Even if you replay it a couple of times from beginning to end, you will not be bored.

Alas, the developer allowed the masterfully crafted narrative to fall apart in the end. After enjoying immensely detailed side stories, and seeing some very powerful scenes, the weird ending is the weakest point of the game.

There is a long laundry list of what’s wrong with Axis Football 2015: no injuries, teleporting players during kick-offs… And instead of struggling, players simply hug each other and just stand there.

Announce as many cool things as possible, then, while everyone is distracted by flashy trailers, swap the actual game with a hardly playable dummy. Looks like The Masterplan itself is a con.

Shadowrun: Hong Kong is a good game and it’s better than its predecessors in some aspects, but I can’t help but feel that this is as good as it gets. And the design of the campaign feels a little bit tired.

Sessions are short and fun, but there is not much replayability. You cannot revisit missions, and there are no such things like New Game+ or Endless mode, and so your adventuring career ends as soon as the credits begin to roll.

It is a definite step forward compared to Star Hammer Tactics, but there is so much stuff to add, like, for example, multiplayer and a global map with a strategic mode or a story campaign.

Genetic modifications, ethical dilemmas, sentient machines vs their human masters — Technobabylon tackles these complex issues and paints a vivid picture of our future. It does this in an awkward manner at times, but if you’re willing to overlook some flaws, you’ll enjoy a compelling cyberpunk story in between sessions of Satellite Reign.
