Although it doesn't bring many innovative advances to the genre, Yars Rising is a competent metroidvania. The title is permeated by a good narrative, firm and growing mechanics, a beautiful 2.5D visual, a good sound composition between music, voices and effects, as well as a good dose of nostalgia.

Probably the word that best describes Islets is "pleasant," which applies to everything this game offers. Even though it's a metroidvania without any major innovations or risks, the experience is always lovely and enjoyable, with humorous writing, competent and well-paced exploration, and good boss fights with bullet hell elements.

Dead Island 2 overcame years of development problems to deliver a fun zombie story with some personality. It doesn't try to go much beyond the basics, but it does it honestly and competently, with good hints of humor and a great co-op experience.

As seen in other similar releases, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered is a great way to feed nostalgia or get to know the franchise for the first time. However, the game makes it clear that it doesn't intend to go much further than a port with smoother visuals and extra behind-the-scenes content.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered features fantastic graphics, it is technically flawless, and offers some quality of life improvements. However, the original game hasn't aged badly enough to receive a remaster already, and revisiting it without certain improvements from its sequel is a bit odd. However, it's still a must-play title.

SD Gundam: Battle Alliance is a fun title that celebrates the franchise, delivering a solid and fun gameplay, specially in co-op, that manages to keep itself varied and engaging even after long hours of playtime. The shallow story and weak progression system limit its success, but it is a game that should appeal to long-time fans and serves as a good way to introduce younger players to the wonderful Mobile Suits.

Miasma Chronicles is a good strategy game that delivers a fun and engaging story that builds on important elements from the developer's previous game. While technical issues do affect the experience, it's a challenging title that fans of the genre will love.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is a solid addition to the soulslike genre. With a well-connected map that emphasizes exploration and an intense combat system focused on precision and adaptation, the game delivers challenging moments. While some fights can be frustrating due to the excessive number of simultaneous on-screen elements, the overall result is a recommended title for action RPG fans looking to test their reflexes and strategies.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a good entry point for the franchise on PlayStation, even if it still has some old problems and lacks the surprise and impact of 2020. It remains a niche game, and the shift to a more traditional game structure isn't the best way to open up that market.

Embracing its strengths and main qualities, Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter is a solid sequel, with a fun and challenging combat, impeccable art style and an always interesting universe. However, the innovations do not add much to make the game a natural evolution and ends up becoming too safe a bet.

Elden Ring Nightreign offers an intriguing take by blending the soulslike formula with roguelike elements, delivering intense challenges and an engaging co-op experience, especially when played with friends. Although it features well-crafted combat mechanics and a diverse range of classes, the game also suffers from repetitiveness. With future updates and proper adjustments, Nightreign has the potential to become a strong addition to the FromSoftware universe.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is a great collection of classic games. There are some notable absences, and the online experience is currently lacking. Input lag on the PS5 is also problematic. The fact that the price isnt very high on the Brazilian PS Store is undoubtedly a critical issue. However, these are all points that can be remedied through updates, which we hope will happen. If not, it's worth grabbing on sale to satisfy your nostalgia.

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, in its PlayStation 5 version, doesn't really bring anything new to the essence of this great game, focusing instead on updating the visuals to native 4K, using ray tracing, haptic functions and fast loading. That said, it's still an incredible game, and deserves this lame excuse to be revisited again or experienced for the first time.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake is a good strategy game with very functional and intuitive systems, accessible for newcomers and rich for veterans, in addition to an excellent use of its setting. The title does justice not only to the original game, but further elevates the entire legacy of the historic franchise to which it belongs.

Borderlands 4 is the best game in the franchise in many ways, with improved gameplay and a good story, all in a package of changes that truly adds an open world for the first time in its excellence. Despite this, the technical side is a complete mess.

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is a fairly robust collection that, complete or with chosen titles, will offer a nostalgia bath for players who lived through the golden days of Arcades. In addition to presenting several important titles for a new generation, it complements, diversifies and expands the collection released in the previous package.

TopSpin 2K25 is the long-awaited return of one of the sport's most acclaimed brands and brings with it some of the best qualities that made it so beloved years ago. Still, it seems a little greedy in visual terms and, mainly, in the amount of content offered, making simplicity its greatest asset and, at the same time, its biggest limitation.

A middle ground between a point-and-click adventure and a walking simulator, Gray Dawn is intriguing and makes good use of the religious theme to sustain a good supernatural thriller, but it lacks boldness in its puzzles and mechanics, in addition to its usability being unresponsive.

Tales of Xillia is a good game in the saga and, although it didn't have the best return with this remaster, it stands out for its excellent gameplay, good performance, deep story, and great graphics. If you're not in a hurry to explore the world of Rieze Maxia, wait for a sale or look for other games in the series like Tales of Vesperia or Tales of Arise.

NBA Bounce easily fills a gap in the current market for sports games less committed to the realism that dominates the genre's major brands. Even with a clear lack of long-term content, it's charismatic, charming, and easily assimilated by players of all skill levels, favoring silly fun over immersion.

Circus Electrique is the kind of game that does so many different and unique things that they end up making up for some mistakes and missteps seen throughout it. Despite not figuring in any list of "best of the year", it deserves to be remembered among the good and unique titles of 2022.

Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is the must-have lost chapter for fans and a good entry point for those wanting to explore the franchise. Playing it evokes a nostalgic feeling, partly thanks to its pixel art style, but at the same time, we know it's something new. Its simple story features entertaining dialogue and an interesting and organic exploration, but the lack of a map is sometimes missed.

Even with combat that falls short of expectations and little presence of its biggest star, Kong: Survivor Instinct manages to capture the concepts of the so-called Monsterverse well and offer a good human journey in the face of the destruction caused by these great titans, taking advantage of a universal quest narrative and typical exploration and puzzle-solving mechanics.

The Tomorrow Children is endowed with a very particular aesthetic - strange at times, but with an identity of its own. There is a certain satisfaction in building a village from scratch with just the fruits of one's labor, but alone, the journey is far more boring. The game excels when it's enjoyed with other players, but unfortunately the community isn't large or very active at the moment, so the player experience may be compromised.
