Sep 1, 2025Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution does so much right that it's easily one of the best games that the franchise has ever had. It just goes to show that old-school approaches to making a memorable game doesn't mean that its quality will suffer.

Aug 27, 2025After so long in limbo, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution has finally arrived with a fun adventure. Focused on the platforming genre — improved with elements like combat and metroidvania — the experience is colorful and humorous, as well as it has a good dose of challenge. While the game is very good overall, unfortunately, the "restriction" of producing a title compatible with an older console limited a release that had the potential to be amazing.

Aug 24, 2025Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is the must-have lost chapter for fans and a good entry point for those wanting to explore the franchise. Playing it evokes a nostalgic feeling, partly thanks to its pixel art style, but at the same time, we know it's something new. Its simple story features entertaining dialogue and an interesting and organic exploration, but the lack of a map is sometimes missed.

Aug 20, 2025This long-lost chapter of the Shantae series provides more of the hair-whipping and belly-dancing action that it's known and loved for. Some might get a little frustrated by the amount of backtracking that's required, though, as well as navigating some of its maze-like locations without a map.
