Overall, Dragon Age: The Veilguard updates some of the franchise's most well-known systems, simplifying many of them in favor of a lighter tone and more straightforward narrative. While the art style and combat may divide audiences, the narrative suffers from inconsistencies, and the fluidity favors action over the strategy that is so characteristic of the franchise.

Despite not presenting any levels of complexity expected for a console game, Freshly Frosted brilliantly accomplishes everything it sets out to do by offering simple and easily understandable mechanics, a lot of charisma and highly challenging and addictive levels, without losing its finesse at any time.

Jusant is one of those titles to be played at your own pace, while enjoying its landscapes and every moment of its characters' journey. More than a climbing game, Jusant is a work of friendship and awareness; an adventure through a desolate world full of stories to tell.

Combining a brutal setting, strong psychological elements, and engaging narrative, Cronos: The New Dawn represents another success for Bloober Team, although the repetition of objectives and limited variety in combat compromise the pace at times.

With gorgeous visuals, an identity overflowing with youthful vivacity and a delicious metalinguistic that mixes gameplay and narrative, The Plucky Squire seeks to draw inspiration from past legacies to create a unique amalgam. The low challenge may seem like the great ideas were not properly used and fail to please part of the audience. However, others will find that the joy of fun will be all that matters in Jot and his friends' adventure.

Even better than last year, WWE 2K23 shows the rising return of the series, building on last year's already solid foundation. With an excellent Showcase mode, an even better MyRISE and many additions to MyGM, it is a must-have for wrestling fans and capable of providing players dozens of hours of fun.

Metro Awakening is a great virtual reality game. Immersive, interesting, challenging and faithful to the Metro universe. However, its pace is a bit slow, the story takes a while to get going and some moments, because they are "too realistic", can end up being stressful for the player.

Diablo IV is, without a doubt, a great success that takes the best of its previous iterations, especially Diablo II, and takes advantage of the potential of an intense open world. With mechanics refined for today, hundreds of hours of gameplay, and the promise of an aggressive post-launch content, this game is the ultimate in the eternal battle between evil and... the other party.

Toodee and Topdee is an interesting twist that blends two classic platforming perspectives to create clever and enjoyable puzzles. The same adjectives hold true for the story, which gives narrative context with its amusing, metalinguistic dialogue. Most of the time the active participation of the duo is well balanced, although this isn't always the case. I recommend the cooperative mode, but this game can also be fully appreciated by those who will play it solo.

Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster is a remaster we didn't know we needed. The game preserves all the essence of the original, while bringing visual improvements and a series of extras. Its story is interesting, featuring some well-known characters and gameplay that is naturally an evolution of Doom. An exquisite work by Nightdive Studios, contributing to the preservation and accessibility of a game that was a landmark when it was released and leaving us eager for a possible remaster of the sequel.

Soul Hackers 2 is a different title than what is usually expected from Atlus, but it is also one of their best and most original games in recent years. It's a highly recommended title if you're already a fan of the company's games or turn-based RPGs in general.

Lies of P combines elements from Soulsborne games, adds some of its own ideas and puts it all in a very well-set version of a dark world, inspired by one of the most recognizable stories in classic literature. Some of its combat mechanics may take a little more time to get used to, but that doesn't take away from Lies of P its merits of being one of the best Soulslikes released recently.

Although unpretentious and somewhat lacking in content, Momodora: Moonlit Farewell is a very balanced and satisfying game. The animation and quality of the sprites elevate the game to another level, well above the others of the same series. In addition to being a feast for the eyes, it is also very entertaining in its short duration.

Black Myth: Wukong uses a great literary work to create one of the best settings inspired by Chinese culture. Although there are still technical issues in the PlayStation 5 version, those who can overcome them will be faced with a game full of combat options and great boss fights. For fans of action RPGs, Black Myth: Wukong is a must-play.

Based on a narrative of affective contemplation, guided by the poignant emotions of the music in perfect harmony with each moment and built on visual art of profound beauty that few games achieve, Neva is an essential unit, a meaningful experience that does not focus on platforming action, but employs it as a small part of an astounding, determined and hopeful whole.

Visions of Mana is an excellent JRPG and the purest definition of a comfortable game. It has a functional and quite fun gameplay, and a simple but thought-provoking story that is very well executed. All of this makes it quite easily one of the best games in the series so far.

Alien: Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition delivers a fun and engaging experience, balancing action and stealth within the Alien franchise universe, with a well-crafted setting, exploration, and soundtrack that enhance immersion. The VR adaptation to the conventional version was well executed, preserving the essence of the game. However, certain visual glitches take away some of the experience's shine, and the tension and terror don't quite reach the level of Alien: Isolation. Even so, it's a solid title and recommended for fans of the series and the genre.

The DioField Chronicle surpasses every expectation, delivering a great Strategy RPG thanks to its challenging real-time battle system and a rich setting that sustains a great story full of politics and good characters. The few issues are due to the simplistic progression system and the narrative that could be even better, but its a game that deserves the attention of fans of the genre.
