Its impressive roster of almost fifty playable characters manages to draw in both newcomers and veteran players, and keeps them hooked through relevance, balance and sheer playability. The physical limitations of the 3DS system does hinder the experience somewhat, especially initially, and this game’s equivalent of the Adventure Mode (Smash Run) lacks the immediate fun of its two predecessors. But the multiplayer is as strong as ever, with the potential to become the series’ most celebrated yet.- Power Unlimited

Nioh 2 is basically Nioh with a new finish, to me, a person fond of the game, it's not a problem. But I think it's important for you - the rest of you - to realize that Nioh 2 is even less original than my pick-up-lines in the club. Where I can't go anymore, by the way. Thanks, Corona.- Power Unlimited

Sunbreak is an absolute must-have for Monster Hunter junkies. The world of Elgado is full of new areas and adds seventeen monsters to the game. A disappointment is that there are only four really brand new monsters, but at the same time it is very cool to see monsters from older games. The new Switch Skill Swap mechanics and the weapons and gear that continue to evolve keep Sunbreak more than interesting even after completing the story.- Power Unlimited

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on the Switch 2 can rightly be called the most complete edition of the game. Okay, visually it's not comparable to playing the game on a PlayStation 5 Pro, but those who don't obsess over graphics will get a game with multiple control options and the ability to play it in handheld form at a fine resolution.- Power Unlimited

One of the best remakes ever gets the port it deserves with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 for the Switch. Gameplay is paramount with this handheld version, making it a great skating experience that is barely inferior to its bigger console brothers.- Power Unlimited

Destiny 2 is tough to compare to other shooters or games, but it is evidently a better title than part 1. The campaign is longer, the progression makes more sense, the structure is more satisfying and the sheen and splendor on the various planets entices even more. Destiny is comparable with its predecessor after the add-on The Taken King, and is therefore a more solid foundation for the coming months of content.- Power Unlimited

One last time 343 Industries (and consorts Ruffian, Saber and Certain Affinity) honors Bungie's legacy with an ode so expansive, that it beats Halo: Reach as the ultimate Halo-package. Halo fans, who probably already own Halo Anniversary, should get this for the 106 MP-maps and Halo 2 Anniversary with its amazing new cut-scenes, plus, of course, the Halo 5: Guardians beta, and should consider Halo 3 and 4 to be very, very nice bonuses.- Power Unlimited

Ratchet & Clank demonstrates how good a proper remake can be when its rebuilt from the ground up for new hardware. It’s a must play for the fans and a great entry point for newcomers as well.- Power Unlimited

This is essentially a Kirby platformer as you are used to, but more beautiful, more atmospheric and with some subtle innovations that make the experience interesting again. As long as you don't rush through it too quickly!- Power Unlimited

Far Cry 4 is not the best game to come out this year, but definitely one of the more enjoyable ones. A blind purchase if you enjoyed Far Cry 3. Just don’t expect much in the way of originality.- Power Unlimited

When Death Stranding came out in 2019 I was in a bit of a conflict: on the one hand it was a great gameplay experience that presented me with something I hadn't played before, but in terms of story it sometimes completely derailed by tons of dialogue. The Director's Cut gives me the same feeling, but I'm convinced that newcomers will definitely take advantage and enjoy the new quality-of-life additions and the DualSense features. On the other hand, it offers owners of the PlayStation 4 version enough additions and improvements to justify a ten euro upgrade should they want to play this unique game again.- Power Unlimited

Tunic is an old-fashioned entertaining game and a true modern classic for the enthusiast. The level design has been taken care of down to the last detail and the bosses are fantastic. Tunic packs the essence of gaming into a cute, memorable and spirited adventure, leaving many a major release gathering dust. A few imperfections and the sometimes somewhat mediocre controls are the only blemishes on a great adventure.- Power Unlimited

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle might be an unpleasant surprise for every (oblivious) Mario-fan whose hoping to go jump on platforms again, but for gamers who like to be strategically challenged, this is highly recommended. Mario + Rabbids might not be a perfectly polished product like some ' real' Mario games, but Ubisoft took a great risk, bringing us an ideal game for the Switch.- Power Unlimited

Due to the high difficulty level, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is not suitable for everybody with a love for platform games, but anyone who has enjoyed the original games must play Crash 4. The N. Sane Trilogy was top notch, but Crash 4 is a much better game.- Power Unlimited

Rare Replay is a super extensive, well made and above all timeless ode to Rare’s body of work. The only bummer is the lack of GoldenEye and Donkey Kong game. [Sept. 2015, p. 062]- Power Unlimited

Anno 117: Pax Romana is a delightful strategy game that combines so many cool elements (building, production, combat, diplomacy) that you can lose yourself in it for dozens of hours. It's the kind of game that could almost become a hobby in itself. The two settings (Romans and Albion) aren't dramatically different, but offer enough variety to allow for truly diverse gameplay. Pax Romana is well-designed graphically and runs without any significant issues, even on a less powerful PC (we played with a 2070GTX).- Power Unlimited

Slaughtering Orks with Assassin's Creed-like stealth-gameplay and beating them silly with the fighting-system we know of the Arkham Batman games: it's lot of fun for a good while. Shadow of Mordor offers raw, nasty action, plus enough collectibles, upgrades and other free-roaming tricks to keep you hooked. The biggest surprise though is that it's all interwoven by an interesting, almost Tolkien-worthy narrative.- Power Unlimited

The Gears 5 singleplayer is better than any in the Gears of War series has ever been, with a stunningly beautiful, spectacular and (emotionally) satisfying campaign. Too bad the multiplayer part of the game hasn't been improved as much, making it only a slight disappointment. But on a whole this is a seriously fun and complete rated M for Mature shooter package.- Power Unlimited

After the heart-wrenching The Walking Dead and the dark murder mysteries of The Wolf Among Us, Tales From The Borderlands: Episode 1 feels like a delightful change of pace. The hard choices are still there, but the action scenes are a lot funnier and the comedic dialogue is being kept at just the right balance. A fine start for Telltale’s newest series.- Power Unlimited

On principle Halo 5: Guardians’ grade should be historically low due to the fact that 343 Industries left out the splitscreen co-op, but that would be unjust. Because its single player campaign has been improved from that of Halo 4 –although not narratively-, the multiplayer has been modernized (more than the single player) and the new Spartan skills are almost all great additions. Halo 5: Guardians is a great shooter, but once again not one of the greatest entries in the Halo saga.- Power Unlimited

Everything about this game screams 'I'm a wacky spin-off', but in reality Like A Dragon might even be the best game in the franchise. So put aside your prejudice and give this Yakuza-game a fair chance. You won't regret it for a second.- Power Unlimited

Two Point Campus is just as funny, funny and relaxing management sim as its predecessor. It's a virtually stress-free experience with tons of customization options, unlockable objects, perfectly snapping game systems and wonderfully bland humor. However, the mediocre frame rate, a scant number of game modes and the fact that this game is less suitable for simmers who do want to feel a bit of management stress, does not make it the best sequel.- Power Unlimited

If you have never gotten around to giving the Metro-series a chance, then this is a perfect package. Metro 2033 has aged considerably despite the numerous changes, but is a fine prologue to Last Light; a rancid, brutal game, teetering on the edge of depressing; a Russian cocktail consisting of one part The Last of Us and one part Fallout 3. Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the funniest games of the year, in which a cleverly written and compelling story predominates and the - nothing more than fine - gameplay dominates. At first or into games that heavily emphasize the emotional journey of their main characters, you'll come to love this startling adventure through a unique Marvel universe. It helps enormously if you are a somewhat nostalgic thirty-something and of course have eagerly devoured a Marvel film or comic.- Power Unlimited

The Lost Legacy is not as great as a real new part in the Uncharted series, but as an insanely expansive stand-alone DLC it's more than successful. We will always miss Nathan Drak, but hopefully Uncharted will continue in this form for a long, long time.- Power Unlimited

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound takes a different approach compared to previous installments. This results in a beautiful new two-dimensional Ninja Gaiden with incredibly refined gameplay mechanics. The flow of the action is so good, it feels like it was designed in a laboratory. It's a shame that the platforming can be a bit of a drag, but otherwise, I had a hard time putting my controller down.- Power Unlimited

Hogwarts Legacy is without a doubt the best Wizarding World game ever, but one that borrows a lot from other RPGs and contains a lot of technical flaws. For Potterheads, that won't spoil the fun, and a surprisingly action-packed game awaits that confirms that you don't need Harry Potter for a nice piece of magic.- Power Unlimited

Resident Evil Village is one of the most versatile instalments of the franchise when it comes to environments, enemies and puzzles. It’s a rollercoaster of memorable moments, nasty body horror and fan service. But like most funfair rides it doesn’t offer much in the way of sideshows and the fun is over way too quickly. But you can always go again!- Power Unlimited
