Experience a short and speedy roguelite with strategic elements, a good amount of variety, and some very harsh RNG.

Evidence 111 is a unique detective game in that it encourages you to hear instead of see all the action from your phone. The story is nothing too revolutionary, but the superb voice acting is the highlight of the title, making for an entertaining hour-and-a-half journey.

The sheer scope of choice Monster Train offers for strategy is amazing, and the fact it took two years to come to mobile is criminal. It’s a simple premise but is so engaging and endlessly fun, and the three floors of combat add such an interesting twist to the gameplay. It cannot be put any simpler than this; Monster Train is a game everyone needs to have on their phone.

Path to Nowhere is a compelling tower defence RPG with stunning visuals that make collecting characters an absolute thrill. The stamina system can feel a little restrictive, but if you're looking for a new take on gachas and tower defence, it's definitely well worth your time.

Finding Paradise is an emotional narrative journey that will make you question the truth about happiness, reality, and what it means to live a life without regrets. If the story itself doesn't make you shed a tear or two, the soundtrack (which I now have on loop on Spotify) certainly will.

An interesting and haunting interactive mystery to solve with a partner who hopefully shares your instincts to clear the few routes available.

A glorious, pure co-op experience, It Takes Two perfects the balance of give and take through its ingenuitive puzzles, stellar storytelling, and enchanting environments. With communication at its core, it truly takes two to tango with this one, and I couldn’t think of a better home for it than the Nintendo Switch.

Automatoys is a nostalgic time-waster that lets you tinker around with "plastic" toys on a digital screen. While its levels are relatively few, the mechanisms are intuitive and unique, and perfectly capture the tactical feel of these retro toys to a tee.

Teacup is a short but insightful adventure about collecting herbs for the perfect tea party. A handy tea encyclopedia teaches you all about the different ingredients in making tea, but most of all, the game teaches you about appreciating the little things in life through the wondrous eyes of an introverted frog.

Hindsight is a bittersweet narrative journey featuring gorgeous 3D scenes and fantastic voice acting. The gameplay feels a little lacking and the story hammers on the same point repetitively after a while, but it certainly packs an emotional punch in the end.

With all the sharpness and complexity of the original version, Into the Breach brings everything it had and more to Netflix Games. Great visuals and engaging gameplay bring you in while the presentation gives you a lot of options. Whether you're playing casually or intensely, you add as much newness and difficulty as you want to make for a worthwhile strategic experience.

Doki Doki Ragnarok is a Viking visual novel-slash-dating sim that lets you date villages instead of people. The loop can get repetitive after a while (and the small text size might make your eyes hurt after a long playthrough), so it's best played in short bursts when you're feeling a little silly.

Evony: The King's Return offers various ways to get your supplies and duke it out with enemies and real-world players. As mentioned, the puzzles add a unique element that is both fun and rewarding, and is a nice change of pace from the usual. Overall, it's a decent game in a classic genre that should offer enough satisfaction.

Dicey Dungeons is a vibrant roguelike dice-rolling game with deceptively simple mechanics - the deeper you go through the floors, the more you learn about the underlying complexity of each character. It scratches that roguelike itch perfectly for fans of the genre, so much so that even non-fans might just become new converts after playing through the game.

Hero Emblems II is a match-3 RPG that combines role-playing level progression with match-3 combat. The battles themselves feel a little bit on the lighter side when it comes to strategic depth, but it might just be your cup of tea if you're a fan of its predecessor.

Poinpy is a deceptively simple and highly engaging title that tasks you with going upward to collect fruit before time runs out. While your initial runs may feel like a literal and figurative uphill battle, its mechanics are compelling enough to make you want to try and try again.

Disney Mirrorverse is an action RPG featuring real-time combat and a cast of beloved Disney and Pixar characters. It can be a bit of a challenge for free-to-play players to score more than 3-star heroes, but the creative character designs make each Guardian a joy to play on the battlefield regardless of rarity.

Catalyst Black is an AAA-quality battleground shooter on mobile that features top-notch production value you can expect from the makers of VainGlory. Gameplay is smooth, stunning, fast-paced, and most of all, extremely fun - it doesn't really need to be anything more than that.

Streets of Rage 4 is a faithful sequel to a hit beat 'em up franchise that still manages to shine even after two decades. The mobile version will supposedly introduce multiplayer functions in a later update for free, but until then, you can rid those streets of rage alone without assists and still have a lot of fun - just remember to keep an eye out for those whole chickens someone keeps leaving behind trash cans for some reason.

Square Valley is a city-building puzzle game with randomly generated elements, lovely visuals and relaxing background music. It might take a while for you to get a hang of the lengthy tile descriptions of the portrait game, but it's a great way to pass the time and indulge in a little brain training while you're at it.

Crux: The Great Outdoors features precision climbing coupled with relaxing music and lovely visuals. It's a contradictory mix of sorts, which isn't my cup of tea - but if you can find a way to manage your expectations going into the game, then it might just be yours.

A Musical Story is a 70s-themed rhythm game with funky music and stunning visuals. Getting those beats right without the Assist function can be frustrating at times, but it's worth picking up if you're up for a challenge (and the occasional earworm).

Puzzle Quest 3 is an enjoyable match-3-slash-RPG experience from the OG franchise that started the genre mash in the first place. It's not for casual players, and the paywall feels a little too high at times, but the match-3 combat itself is an engaging experience that's one for the books.

An overall enjoyable, authentic experience for both the longtime football gamer and new one whether it's on iOS, Android, or now on the Switch. The satisfying gameplay with Switch controls combined with the off-field strategy essentially makes Retro Bowl a 2-in-1 package even with the lack of defensive play. It's a great nod to the games of yesteryear while still quenching the thirst of the modern sports gamer.

ENCODYA is a gorgeous-looking point-and-click adventure with painstaking effort put into every detail of the game. It's truly a labour of love, and I appreciate that - but I do wish the controls were more mobile-friendly to make the game less of a slog to get through.

A fantastic game that's well deserving of a port, aside from the controls sometimes betraying you. The only concern is that you lose some of the atmosphere on the smaller screen; For those who play mobile first, however, there's almost no reason to not dive in.

Milo and the Magpies is a short but sweet visual treat for fans of the point-and-click genre (or fans of cats in general). It's a refreshing way to engage in a little problem-solving on your phone without the added pressure of a time limit or the possibility of a frustrating rage quit.
