Although Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is more narratively ambitious than its prequel, something has been lost in the transition. The levels, while good for the most part, simply do not match up those seen in the original game. Nevertheless, Wrong Number still stands as an excellent closing act for the series all the same.- PlayStation Universe

I had a blast playing through Slayaway Camp. A simple puzzle game that lets me play through some of my favorite horror movies and franchises. The blocky graphics have a great charm to them even though it sometimes gets in the way of the kill animations.- PlayStation Universe

A gorgeous, atmospheric, and relaxing world chock full of things to do, My Time at Portia ultimately falls frustratingly short of its potential due to some serious pacing issues and an overall lack of mechanical polish.- PlayStation Universe

The lack of massive changes to The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors bears a naked truth - there wasn't much needing to be changed in the first place. A challenging and resolutely satisfying side-scrolling slasher, fans of the IP's vintage and retro actioners in the genre at large will find much to enjoy here.- PlayStation Universe

While not being an all-encompassing experience, Carto allows you to explore a hand-drawn fantasy at your own pace. It includes camp-fire like folktales of family, growing up, and making your way in the world. The Carcassonne like map-making and editing system is unique and very rewarding. If you are looking for a small, fun game while waiting for some big titles to drop, give it a go. It's a lot of fun and very different.- PlayStation Universe

Trinity Fusion approaches the rogue-lite genre with accessibility in mind. While enemy variety is small, boss fights soon grow trivial, and it doesn't offer the same complex options as other entries, the true enjoyment comes in the combat itself. With ways to make this enjoyable gameplay easier or harder, this is the perfect game for newcomers and aficionados to try.- PlayStation Universe

Tape 1 of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is a solid prologue for what might hopefully "bloom" into a memorable story of reunion and reconnecting after decades apart. There are some bold new steps for the genre here, that are unfortunately held back by design choices that already felt archaic back when we first encountered them a decade ago. For now, I'm intrigued and interested to see what comes next, despite the obligatory wait.- PlayStation Universe

A solid arcade-style shooter with a rich Western theme, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger serves up fun gameplay with a well executed, albeit predictable, story.- PlayStation Universe

The Medium shines when it’s letting you soak in its beautifully crafted dual worlds and melancholic soundtrack, but early promise of a quietly effective ghost story unravels as the story staggers clumsily to a point where it becomes almost unbearable in its attempt to tackle a tough subject.- PlayStation Universe

There's no better way to play this series than the PS5 release of Layers of Fear, combining both stories under one cohesive umbrella. It also shows fantastic early potential in Unreal Engine 5, showcasing exactly what it can offer the rest of the gaming industry.- PlayStation Universe

Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is another solid update to Atlus's long-running Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Raidou Remastered overhauls the combat system for modern players and includes plenty of quality of life upgrades. It's a nice addition for those looking for a more supernatural detective story set in the Tensei universe.- PlayStation Universe

Sega have done these classic titles a service by re-releasing them in the original form and resisting the temptation to tamper. Surely as divisive now as they were nearly 20 years ago, Shenmue I & II are not just a great primer for the forthcoming threequel, but also a great opportunity to experience one of gaming's most pioneering series. Welcome back Shenmue, I have missed you dearly.- PlayStation Universe

Observation does a lot of things correctly. Honing in on the isolation of space generates a wonderful tension on its own. Some pacing issues keep it from excellence, but there is plenty of appeal here for many different gaming preferences.- PlayStation Universe

The Outlast Trials is a unique, engaging, horrifying, and memorable multiplayer experience, and although this is its greatest strength, it also lessens the pure horror experience that Outlast is otherwise known for. The excellent environments and narrative choices are well worth experiencing; I only wish there was more story content to experience, and variety in mission structure.- PlayStation Universe

The best Attack on Titan game available, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is everything that the 2018 release of Attack on Titan 2 should have been and is a compelling offering for folks who held off the original release. For everyone else that bought the base Attack on Titan 2 game however, the somewhat prohibitive price point of the Final Battle expansion makes it far less of an essential purchase than it should be.- PlayStation Universe

Ion Fury takes inspiration from the great retro shooters of the industry and runs with it. High-octane gunfights mixed with retro style and one-liners is a formula that never gets old. Ion Fury is a retro fix all its own, and it does it so well. Despite its setbacks, it's a blast to play and worthy of Build engine that it utilizes.- PlayStation Universe

Offering a spine-chilling and creepy setting and atmosphere, Mundaun is a great experience that doesn't feel like anything I have played before. Its gameplay systems all blend together surprisingly well and it is just the right length. The strengths help alleviate some of the issues I had, but even with those present, it is well worth a play for fans of the genre.- PlayStation Universe

A lot feels right with Tokyo Xanadu, with gorgeous handheld graphics and a concept with a lot of potential, but the complete product chooses overall accessibility for depth of concept. Combat, narrative, and development do their job just enough to keep things working, but the hiccups and shortcomings keep holding the game back from the niche sleeper hit it could be.- PlayStation Universe

While this bundle lacks a thoughtful touch, the Metal Gear Solid Masters Collection Vol. 1 proves that these classic games still hold up; age hasn't slowed them down one bit. Menu management needs help, buttons cannot be adjusted on MGS1, and most of the additional content needs additional downloads outside of the games themselves. This collection could have been better, but any opportunity to make these beloved games available is still an opportunity well spent - even if a technical makeover would still be very much welcomed for each title.- PlayStation Universe
