YIIK is an interesting experiment in western RPG waters. It tries to emulate the world and wonder that the Earthbound game had, but only partly successful. Its combat system can be unfair at first, then repetitive and boring later. Level up system is needlessly convoluted and time consuming. But the world is bizarre and wacky, puzzles are great, and the characters are funny enough to have you invested just enough to see the game through at least once.

If you are looking for something new and fresh, Atlas Fallen might just be the game for you. It has an intriguing world design and ways of traversing it, as well as interesting fighting mechanics. Unfortunately, the rest of the world building relies on boring characters and a story that will hardly keep you entertained for a long while, which is a shame since the rest of the game has some real potential.

Even though some of you might find enjoyment in the survival element of this title, ridiculously slow loading times, progress, strangling repetition, unintuitive controls and a surprisingly annoying hunger indicator, made this author seek enjoyment elsewhere. No doubt there is quality here, but my hands were just too tired from digging to look for it any deeper.

Scars Above remind us how a high budget and piles of content don’t necessarily make a great game. Yet, simplicity and balance between all the elements may raise the fun factor to its limits. Initially unoriginal but more intriguing as you progress through the game, this one truly is a short but sweet experience that brings back "fun“ to the “interactive fun“ - something we don’t see on the market that often anymore.

Pagan Online is very interesting hack ’n’ slash twin-stick ARPG, based on Slavic mythology, that is bravely trying to implement some new, more casual but fun experience into the genre. Aside from its bugs and few balancing problems, it has great potential and it is already managing to separate itself from the big competitors in the genre.

Swansong will be compared to Bloodlines, and that’s inevitable even though this is not the same kind of game. Unfortunately, Swansong wants itself to be compared to Bloodlines and doesn’t really make a stand against its older sire. A mess of RPG and adventure mechanics boil down to luck, and with weak voice acting and not very Camarilla vampire models, Swansong leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re looking for an adventure akin to Life is Strange, you’ll surely find it here. But if you’re looking for a World of Darkness RPG with deep and charismatic characters, better hope Bloodlines 2 comes out soon.

The atmosphere and the feeling of being lost and hopeless in a harsh environment is where Kholat really delivers its memorable experience.

STRAFE is a roguelike FPS that tries too hard to remind us of “the good old times”, but since it lacks any depth and quality, it fails hard on every level. The game is a mix of horrible graphics (although that was the excuse for the XX century feel), awful story (again “on purpose”), one of the worst AI opponents ever and questionable shooting.

Some games serve only to be fun. On the other hand, some games are experiences that aren't suited for everyone, art houses that are as disturbing as they are intriguing. The Town of Light is one of them.

Forspoken is an absolute disappointment with ridiculously cringe storytelling, a dead open world and lacklustre AI that prevents the creative combat system from really reaching its potential. With obnoxiously bad optimization for both PC and consoles, this is a game that just tries to be an average open-world experience with some assumed original twist but fails even to meet its mediocre expectations.

Hellpoint is a dark sci-fi souls-like game that introduces some new features and ideas in an attempt to differentiate itself from a common dark souls clone. Plenty of glitches and bugs make it feel rushed and make it look like it’s still in beta. Overall, Hellpoint has lots of promise, and could have been an amazing game if Cradle Games spent more time in development.

The New York vampire story continues. Less choice in characters but a more solid experience with a single vampire clan. It would be interesting to see if this continues further.

While the turn-based combat remained interesting and stayed true to its roots, and the units have a lot of variety, the newly implemented elements leave a lot to be desired. This coupled with some annoying bugs and an overall sense of an unfinished product make King’s Bounty II a very lackluster experience.

You may see a Minecraft themed racing game, but all I see is the lowest replay value racing game I've ever played. For the length of its fun, the joy is real. But as soon as you lose tracks to discover (and friends to play with), there is next to nothing to look for in this game.

What could potentially be one of the best kart games out there is sadly plagued by a heavy microtransaction system. We say "could“ because even if there were no microtransactions, many other elements would need a lot more polish. This is especially obvious when it comes to a not so great track design and clunky driving. Yet if you are a huge fan of the series and don’t mind spending some additional money on the game you’ve already paid for, give this one a go. There are still things to love in this package.

Is there a sin more sinful than taking away the charms of a great game? Implementing an awesome PvP multiplayer into this one would most definitely raise the verdict a notch. But this way... It's only a bleak experience.

Jon Shafer's At the Gates is sadly lackluster in comparison of its maker's past titles like Civilization V. It presents some innovation for the genre, but has serious failures in some of the basics of 4X games and poses as a weird package with big need for some quality of life updates.

The second chapter of the Chronicles series will provide you with several hours of fun, albeit with slightly repetitive gameplay. A bit more polished than the China chapter, but still nowhere near the old Assassin's Creed glory.

If you manage to look past the incredibly poor graphics and voice acting that awkwardly fits, you should have a blast with the remaster of a 1993 classic. If not, this is a release you should avoid. But ultimately, games should not require overlooking of flaws to be good. For that is a major flaw by itself.

The Swindle on the Switch plays just as good as when it was originally released. It's is a merciless, ruthless, blood boiling experience you cannot find just anywhere. Not for the faint of heart, but a sheer joy for ones capable enough to see through the big heist.

Alone in the Dark remakes the original in all the elementary ways that were perfected a long time ago. It recreates the mechanics and the atmosphere of the first games with genuine precision yet fails to improve on the formula in any meaningful manner. It’s an experience you will probably enjoy getting bored with.

Battlefield 2042 is technically an unfinished game that just has dozens of problems on both visual and technical levels. It poses some questionable gameplay changes, some good, some bad, but it still presents itself as a dash of fresh air with great modes like Portal and Hazard Zone. Sadly, it has so many problems on mentioned levels, with really disappointing “bloom” during shooting, that it poses itself as a pretty bad experience overall and it is really hard to recommend to anyone until it gets patched or gets additional content in the future.

Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

We don't see often adventures like this. Great design and funny story, make it a title worthy a sequel. But not all is great on the low road... So be prepared and armed with nerves. I promise you, it's going to be worth it.

Monark brings many innovations to the table, yet ultimately feels unfinished and unpolished. Many of the traditional and obsolete aspects of the JRPG genre are present, yet if you are willing to look past them in order to reach some quality – it could truly shine up your experience. Interesting characters, mechanics and setting, may not feel enough for some, but to those that just need a long game and new ways to play, Monark is a great recommendation.

Sometimes, Mafia 3 is a glimpse of what could've been an amazing, immersive game. At other times it’s a buggy, unoptimized mess that should've stayed at the drawing board for at least two more years.

Fair game, but just that. Historically inaccurate and pretty hard and unforgiving. It will push back players and really it cannot keep attention for too long.
