For a very budget-friendly racer, Boxy Racers delivered a far higher level of quality and polish than I expected, even if not necessarily the challenge. The racing itself reminds me most of the classic RC Pro-AM back on the NES, though this control style is far superior. While experienced racers won’t likely struggle to get through all three circuits, if you’re able to play against a friend, or online play picks up, I could see where it would make for great competitive racing or simply goofing off in one of the four diverse Battle Modes. There’s a fair amount of quality racing in this low-cost title, and I’d love to see more of it… hopefully with a bit higher degree of difficulty.

In the end, Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers is a cute little racer that features a few nifty mini-games but its lack of replay value means that you'll likely play it for a little while then never pick it up again.

While it doesn’t offer a whole lot to do and risks getting overshadowed by bigger party racers like Nintendo’s own Mario Kart, Chiki Chiki Boxy Racers is good for an afternoon of fun with up to eight players. It doesn’t overstay its welcome and it’s simple enough that players of all ages can immediately understand the controls and goals.

You may see a Minecraft themed racing game, but all I see is the lowest replay value racing game I've ever played. For the length of its fun, the joy is real. But as soon as you lose tracks to discover (and friends to play with), there is next to nothing to look for in this game.

Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers is a perfect game to have fun in company in short games. However, its individual experience is very limited. Its mechanics are fun and its wide variety of possibilities is great in multiplayer, but it needs more content.
