A very good beat 'em up that nonetheless feels more like evolution than revolution. The lack of internet play is a definite minus. [Mar 2007]

A shoot 'em up action-adventure in a living, breathing city. It looks pretty and is a lot of fun. The loose mission structure is great. [Apr 2007]

Supreme Commander is Total Annihilation 2007 and that is enough to make me happy. The user interface should be the role model for the whole genre. The only slight letdown are the blandish robotic units. [Mar 2007]

The Angel of Death manages to keep the adventure genre alive. Budget and/or time constraints show: the game is quite rough around the edges. It is also too linear although the puzzles are good and varied. Why cannot the dialogue be fast-forwarded? [Dec 2006, p.82]

Looks a little better than the previous incarnations but is mostly quite familiar. The lacking editing possibilities of the 360 version are a disappointment, but the game itself is still as fun as ever. [Dec 2006]

Takes the best stuff from Sims 2 and its add-ons, adds a story mode and makes the whole experience a bit lighter on the hardware. What is there not to like? [Mar 2007]

Save the mage girl, save the world. With the exception of the too-frequent random battles, Final Fantasy VI is all good. [Aug 2007]

A surprisingly good combination of action and strategy - influenced by the old Carrier Command. The single player mode would have been a lot better if the AI was not so heavily scripted, but the fun multiplayer mode more than makes up for it. [Mar 2007]

Great fun. Sure, the storyline is not particularly original and many of the characters are somewhat one-dimensional, but the fast-paced battles, entertaining narrative and the fascinating gameworld keep the player captivated. [Oct 2007]

The 3D elements do not gel well, and controlling Sonic feels awkward and hasty. Sudden deaths are far too common for a modern game. Old school (un)playability does not work this time. [Feb 2007]

The funniest Sam & Max episode yet. The humour is witty and absurd. On the minus side, problem-solving is still a little too easy and the episode could last longer. It would have been nice to have some new minigames, too. [Mar 2007]

An excellent, addictive historical strategy game. The awful graphics and the wandering enemy units are minor flaws. [Feb 2007]

New areas and races are well thought out and there is tons of stuff to do. Some hardcore raiders will not love the new 25 player raid cap, though, and the guild aspect of the game could have used more improvements. [Jan 2007]

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition has attitude and style, but the controls do not feel intuitive and the difficulty level is sometimes frustrating. Still, a cool and handsome 3D-shooter. [Feb 2007]

Tries to be fast and furious but ends up slow and boring. There is very little single player content and the multiplayer modes just are not fun enough. [Apr 2006]

One of the most refreshing adventure games in a long time full of clever and funny dialogue. The puzzles are much like the main characters: witty and out of control. [Feb 2007]

Pleasant to look at, but has very limited tactical depth. What is worse there is not really much else to do other than fire the phasers. Only a die-hard trekkie could enjoy this – and, sadly, probably will. [Feb 2007]

Fun and action-packed. Las Vegas is the perfect setup for action. It does get a bit repetitive towards the end, though. [Sept 2007]

Looks and sounds good, but the game feels like it was designed by a committee. Gameplay is just too boring, repetitive and old-fashioned. [Feb 2007]

One of the best PSP games out there. Snake's dreary life is never fun but playing it is a true pleasure. What we have here is a stealth game par excellence. [Aug 2007]

Just like its predecessors, BfME is probably the most fun RTS at the moment. I liked the Witch-King campaign, but the new and improved War of the Ring still feels like a war of randomly moving chess pieces. [Dec 2006]

A flashy mix of Lockdown and Advanced Warfighter in a great looking setting. The shootouts feel real and commanding the team works well, but the levels are very linear and sometimes the amount of enemies seems a bit overkill. More variety would have been nice, too. Vegas has other things besides casinos, you know. [Dec 2006]

An amusing arcade racer with heavy emphasis on speed and outrageous jumps. The morphing tracks are nice. It is a bit too short, though. A career mode would have been better. [Mar 2007]
