A great game, also (or even) as a PC incarnation. But for marketing Vista and its DX10 graphics, Halo 2 is looking a couple years too dated. Hopefully Halo 3 will be converted faster. [June 2007]

An excellent semi-realistic racing game. The Xbox Live race options are great. Too bad there are only eight cars on track. [Aug 2007]

Shadowrun fails to impress. While the core gameplay principles are well designed and the game has a balanced feel to it, the experience turns out to be underwhelming. There is simply nothing flashy nor exciting about Shadowrun. [Aug 2007]

Simple, pure, childish fun. Wiimote freshens the series, but underneath it all still lies the same old Mario Party in both the good and the bad. [Aug 2007]

A charmingly colourful, albeit a slow and repetitive RPG with a good cast of characters and a boring narrative. [Sept 2007]

A game like no other and a surprise release to see outside of Japan. It is a mixture of a 2D shoot 'em up and a fighting game with mechas. The fighting system is complex, but once the initial confusion wears off real depth is found. Two player games are great fun. [Oct 2007]

The story – if you can call it that – is a collection of cliches, but not in a funny way. The game offers a variety of puzzles: Most of them are enjoyable, but some are dull and one even horrific. The cut-scenes are nice and voice acting tolerable. All in all, the thing that keeps the game from falling into oblivion are the puzzles. Maybe the sequel will do better. [Dec 2007]

A charmingly beautiful little adventure to watch but a horrendously awful game to play. The clumsy combat mechanics, generally unpleasant gameplay and violently unfair difficulty make this one of the most unpleasant gaming experiences of the year. It may look cute, but make no mistake: it's evil. [May 2008]

The PS2 version is a generic action-adventure movie rip-off that manages to bore from the start to the finish. [June 2007]

Day Watch should have been a no-brainer: just do another game like Night Watch. But for some reason things have gone downhill. There is too little action and too many boring cutscenes. You are forced to play as a next-to-useless witch. And the list goes on and on. [Aug 2007]

Shrek the Third doesn't even try to be passable. It's a children's game, but that's not an excuse to make the game repetetive, too easy and just damn boring. There's enough basic platformers in this world even without the new Shrek game. [Oct 2007]

Infernal borrows a lot ideas from classic action adventures like "Deus Ex," but manages to stand on its own two feet. Awesome graphics, brisk action and realistic environments make Infernal well worth a try. [Apr 2007]

The true heir of the classic X-COM and almost as addictive. However, the game has a multitude of irritating design flaws that need correcting. [June 2007]

ArmA: Armed Assault is "Operation Flashpoint 2007" in both the good and the bad. The good far outweigh the bad, though, and I can hardly wait for the game to be properly finished. For a game of this calibre, I will gladly endure and finance the beta testing. [Apr 2007]

Offers a captivating mix of genres. The shell game works very well, actual fighting is only OK. The weapons are not very cool, and team members should be able to defend themselves automatically. There is still no destructible environment or randomly generated battlefields, either. Come on, Altair! [Mar 2007]

A decent enough action-adventure in the vein of GTA and Crackdown. Spider-Man's web-slinging abilities are depicted very well. Go for the Xbox 360 version, the rest are not worth your time. [June 2007]

A solid fantasy MMORPG that looks good, plays well and is faithful to Tolkien’s work. It could have broken out of the traditional EverQuest format a bit more, but even now it is one of the best games the genre has seen in recent years. [June 2007]

The PS3 version is graphically outdated and the loading times are painfully long, but Fear is still a quality shooter. Despite the atmospheric music and sound effects, the game is not as frightening as it could be. Great AI, though. [June 2007]

A well-written, inventive and laugh-out-loud funny platformer with great puzzles. Unfortunately, the quirky game has not been polished to perfection, which can be seen in the lack of details, the faltering visual style and some dragging sections. [Sept 2007]

A creepy and atmospheric horror adventure. The advanced physics engine makes the experience truly immersive. On the minus side, combat is a bit cumbersome and the plot could use some polishing. Still, very promising. [Aug 2007]
