Got a kid who's into Toy Story? There's a lot here for them to sink their teeth into, and thankfully it's not all bad.

Does it stick to the MMO tradition? Absolutely. But it takes that tradition and refines it, and captures brilliantly those less tangible elements that make a great game instead of a good one - an inviting, vibrant world, the foundations for a dynamic player economy, and the freedom to take to the world as you please.

Combine this originality with the great music, cute characters (including a rival called Pudding!), and entertaining premise - it might just keep a lot of people hooked in there until the very end... those of whom haven't run off screaming into the night at the idea of a kitschy dance rhythm game, keeping them away from their precious FPS time.

The Wonderful 101 has its flaws, but thankfully they don’t surface very often, and let’s be honest, the presentation, graphical quality, humour, and insane gameplay make up for any shortcomings that may appear.

It was alright. Casual handheld game, for sure, arcade-ish and replayable. It’s nothing gripping, not by a long drive (see what I did there?). On the huge plus side though, when you hit a perfectly spun ball with precision timing, the ball does take on a distinctly familiar blue Super Saiyan aura.

Lots of places to go, lots of enemies to see. The bosses are a joy to battle, and you ought to take a great deal away from these enormously fun interactions.

A seriously impressive game. It’s a little on the short side, and has a few little quirks all its own, but there’s no question that Guerilla Cambridge have delivered the goods. I still can’t quite believe the technical feats it accomplishes, to be perfectly honest.

This is a great game and one that fans of the series will really love. If your style of online play is "small unit combat, up close and personal" then this is easily the best available option. Despite stiff competition, the team at Infinity Ward have delivered yet again.

Not for the weak stomached, but a well thought-out shooter for early adopters of Playstation VR.

Still visually striking, but poor voice acting has undone much of the gravitas it once had.

It really is a breath of fresh air for the kart racing genre. If anything, it goes to show that Nintendo may need to do a little more than just add a new feature to their next iteration of Mario Kart.

But if you're looking for a modern Sonic game which stays faithful to its roots, is fun to play and is a worthy title on its own merits, look no further. Finally, Sonic Colors is that game we've been waiting for.

Yes, Skylanders will make your wallet cry out for mercy, and parents the world over are probably dreading their kids’ Christmas Wish Lists this year. But their latest offering, Trap Team, is more than just a money grab. It’s one of the most polished, expansive (expensive?) platformers available and is sure to entertain a wide audience, both young and old if you have the cheddar to keep up.

It's a Fire Emblem game, which means, yes, while it's diabolically hard, the gameplay is solid. More than solid – it's worthwhile.

Hopefully this proves to be a massive success because with this solid a framework to build on, a sequel could be more addictive than crack!

A forgettable - but still entertaining - singleplayer campaign, and a whole host of multiplayer content to keep people satisfied for the next 12 months until Black Ops III (or whatever Treyarch has planned) hits the shelves.

It’s pretty clear Ubisoft has taken an inward look following mediocre offerings in the recent past – and not just among the AC franchise – and made an attempt to correct them. That is commendable in its own right, but even more so for how much better Syndicate is as a result.

Microsoft's Kinect is impressive tech and granted, has had a rough time making any headway in the world of gaming. It's here, though, that the motion-capture technology excels. Giving kids a creative outlet in an educational realm is fantastic and Kinect works beautifully for navigating media and getting people up off the couch.

Out of Time takes the strengths of the debut and runs with them, while also making a respectable effort of addressing its problems. I’m certainly looking forward to my next trip to Arcadia Bay.

The game is so charming that the gameplay doesn’t feel particularly repetitive. The visual style is gorgeous, the ‘romance dance’ for each type of piñata is clever and imaginative, and there’s some great music here too, in a range of styles that won’t have you reaching for the mute button any time soon.

Little Nightmares achieves a lot with atmosphere, but doesn’t achieve much as an interactive experience. What it does could be done to the same effect as a film, painting, or even a creepy children’s book. It looks like a Wallace and Gromit story that went awry with depressants, which so happens to be its best feature. I wouldn’t say Little Nightmares is pointless as a game – if it wasn’t one, I may have never experienced it. But I would say it’s atmospheric goals are underutilised in a medium privileged with active participation.

An interesting game. It attempts to combine an increasingly niche genre with one that couldn't be more populist right now. The danger it faces is to alienate its hardcore fans without luring enough FPS players over.

As licensed games go, it's above average - but given that the film series it is based on was last seen at the cinemas over 20 years ago, it's a bit of disappointment that it still feels a bit rushed. It could have been (and based on pre-release media, seemed to be) so much better.
