Bike Rider DX 2: Galaxy is easily one of the better-playing indie platformers you can find on the eShop right now.

It’s certainly not a bad way to pass the time, and it’s easier than digging my boxed copy of Yahtzee out of the closet and fiddling with a score sheet. On the other hand, the thrill doesn’t exactly last long.

ZaciSa’s Last Stand is fun, requires some good strategy and and the music is pretty great. Unfortunately, all it takes is one big issue to makes the game a questionable buy. If you think you can withstand the finicky controls, you may find some fun here.

Overall, the game is very enjoyable. The level-up and equipment aspects flow unusually well with the aim-and-shoot mechanics of so many mobile games. Aside from the manual leveling system, the game is a very likable piece of entertainment.

It’s an easy-to-pick-up, fun title that just about anyone can enjoy.

Guacamelee is a fantastic Metroid-inspired platformer that shouldn’t be missed.

Stick it to the Man! is the perfect game to sit down and relax with, to the point that it sometimes feels more like an interactive cartoon than an actual video game.

Monkey Pirates is meant to be played with people and it truly comes together when the right crowd gets together.

But more than anything else, Shovel Knight oozes personality and charm more than any game I’ve played in recent memory.

Pokémon Art Academy takes both franchises in a weird direction, but the true miracle is that it makes a more entertaining experience.

The concept of badgers in space suits fighting evil seems promising, but Gravity Badgers ends up being little more than a poor Angry Birds clone. The gameplay is repetitive, without much of a challenge and the visuals feel barren and uninspired. I played my way through the levels without ever feeling good about it.

The sheer volume of content on offer here is quite impressive, as is the presentation.

It’s a clever little romp to play around for a few hours, and it’s a fine way to spend a couple of days trekking through dungeons and finding new cards and pieces of paper.

Endlessly charming and unusually engaging, Tomodachi Life is a fantastic diversion.

This is one Nintendo 3DS game that deserves to be owned.

While it's a bummer that the quirks of Crashmo didn't make a return, no one really loses when Pushmo World is so wonderfully crafted, with awesome puzzles and excellent new twists.

As it stands, the only thing this game was running was out of ideas.

As a new beginning, Inazuma Eleven GO is just fantastic, and it nails all the important aspects that make this RPG a winner, staying true to the formula of its predecessors and at the same time expanding it and giving it a damn pretty new coat of paint.

With just one gameplay mode, which functions, Candy Match 3 is one of the more uninspiring offerings in the Nintendo 3DS library.

Swords & Soldiers HD is surprisingly fun, and I’m glad I played it.

While the more frustrating points of the game may turn away those looking for a more streamlined experience, the amount of content here makes Denpa Men 3 a great value for those who feel up to the challenge.

That’s something that could have gone a long way in making some of the game’s more clunky and frustrating elements a tad more palatable. As it stands, Chubbins ends up a niche title for those seeking a somewhat unique and demanding platforming experience with no frills.

It is a confusing mess and one that Wii U owners should stay away from.

It’s a nice effort, but I hope that Saturnine Games makes a deeper experience for their next game.

In terms of Nintendo eShop titles, you won’t find many others that offer the long hours of gameplay that Squids Odyssey provides.

ASM2 is still a good game at its core, with some improvements over the original, but they really botched the Hero/Menace element.

It is terrific to look at, and its battle system remained addictive for several hours of gameplay. The humdrum exploration, the too-repetitive (though fun) combat, and the unfocused story bring the title down after a strong first impression.

If there’s one word that can quickly sum up Nintendo’s latest entry in the Mario Kart series, it’s beautiful. From top to bottom, this is a gorgeous game, likely the best-looking one Nintendo has ever made. Even the soundtrack is superb, with amazing songs that call to mind past Mario games in new musical styles. Behind that beauty, unfortunately, is a degree of vapidness.
