Flapp & Zegeta is the game nobody asked for. It tried to make Flappy Bird more complex, but it failed in every way possible.

But the core gameplay—puzzle-solving with clones—is distinctly enjoyable. In a way, it reminded me of the Clank puzzles in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, but on a 2D plane. If that kind of puzzle-solving is up your ally, I’d give The Swapper a try.

Costume Quest 2 has a lot to like, especially with its fun gameplay and witty, clever story.

I didn’t have any problem with the gameplay overall, but in the end, it’s constant requirement to grind became tiresome, and the mundane and repetitive levels exemplified that. If you can muster through that, Castle Conqueror EX does have an addictive quality to it, but only if you know what you’re in for going in.

All-in-all Rock Zombie has many of the trappings of a great game. The core mechanics work, and all of Rock Zombie’s failings are the sort of things that could be fixed in future updates. For now this may not be the arcade experience you’re looking for but with a little work, it could be a welcome addition to anyone’s Wii U home screen.

Zombie Panic in Wonderland DX is a good game. While there are glaring faults with its difficulty, the game itself is super solid and well put together.

Cosmophony is not a perfect game, but a very entertaining one at the very least.

Ultimate NES Remix is a nifty collection for the Nintendo 3DS. It isn't the full featured package of your dreams, but the games they have chosen are quite playable and make for a great way to spend your time.

Ballpoint Universe: Infinite is certainly interesting, but it’s also extremely repetitious and kind of boring. The platforming falls flat, and even fans of the genre will find it hard to like the frustrating shoot ‘em up segments.

Lone Survivor feels like a very strong first draft of a game. The story is great. Unfortunately, the game does nothing to help you experience that story.

The Legend of the Dark Witch is a great choice for fans of classic action platformer games.

In the end, the success of Woah Dave comes from your drive to beat your own score, something I’ll be doing long into the winter months ahead.

This expanded mobile game shows off some hard work really well spent by Mobot Studios. It’s not the most innovative gaming experience out there, but the beautiful aesthetics and clever level designs really push the title to the top of its class in the eShop.

Stealth Inc. 2 delivers a full product that will leave any puzzle fan wanting more, and they can get it thanks to the long game and the downloadable created puzzles.

It’s not for the weak at heart, as I failed many times along the way, but the overall presentation helps it become quite the immersive experience.

Visually speaking, COB looks good, and the pirate/nautical aesthetic is a nicer touch than most eShop titles, although it’s not anything noteworthy. Without much to offer beyond the core puzzle game experience--which gets tired quickly--there’s just not a lot of game here.

Turtle Tale is a brisk experience which features solid action platforming mechanics. However, the game’s lack of visual variety and charm feels like a melting pot of visual cliches making the complete package one that is easy to forget.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is a must-play game. If you’ve enjoyed the previous Shantae games at all, or you just like well-designed platforming action games, this is something special.

One of the best games to ever grace the Wii U. The sequel feels tighter, less obnoxious, and is a blast to play through. While the Wii U GamePad is not used in any significant way, and Tag Climax could have benefited from local co-op, this is the action-packed Bayonetta follow–up that I wanted.

The simple gameplay and strategy is nice, but when it has to be implemented in a game that requires the player to consistently fail, it’s not that fun.

99Bullets is a neat distraction that fills an arcade itch. It won't last you forever, but thanks to the multiplayer and leaderboards, you will get more mileage out of it. The presentation is fine, but it never really changes, and the charm for its almost-retro look fades fast.
