Another great visual feature is the incredible picture-in-picture set ups with the base runners. You can see all of them as they’re rounding the base or leading off without having to rely on watching a small dot.

It may take a couple of hours to get into, but once there the game has a very addictive system. If you have a taste for strategy, give it a shot and see if you like it.

The story mode has no where near the complexities and storyline that the Game Boy games have had, and the Colosseum mode is no where near as customizable as the Stadium titles were for the N64. However, both play modes are enjoyable.

Besides the slight easiness and linearity of the main game, there isn't much to complain about. There is an added bonus to this game in that the game actually has further story after you escape from Zebes, and the gameplay goes in a direction never explored in the Metroid series.

The controls are weird and strange. Nevertheless, Crystal Chronicles is a charming game and a great addition to the GameCube library of RPG’s... for multiplayer gaming purposes only.

The multiplayer modes alone are worth it. Add to that a high level of game mode depth, gameplay excellence, and stunning style and you’ve got one fantastic game.

Unfortunately for Acclaim, the Cube has just been hit up with three outstanding racers including "Mario Kart: Double Dash!!," "F-Zero GX," and "Need for Speed Underground." In that company, XGRA looks average.
