If you like 3D platformers and are up for a challenge, Super Sami Roll is a must. It’s a joy to play over and over again as you hunt for collectibles, shortcuts, and a personal best speedrun time. It’s one of the most refreshingly addictive and exciting 3D platformers to release in the last few years. Behind strong level design, smooth and expansive controls, and loads of unlockable content, Super Sami Roll is a gift that keeps on giving.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Life is Strange: True Colors is the best game in the series so far, without a doubt. The town of Haven Springs is full of excellent characters, with Alex Chen herself being one of the best protagonists we’ve seen in some time. The game does suffer from some pretty severe visual downgrades with the Switch release, and some of the additional minigames left us feeling a bit cold. Nevertheless, developer Deck Nine has crafted a fantastic narrative that you’ll be eager to see through to the very end. Reduced visual fidelity aside, Switch is a great place to experience True Colors.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Though I mostly enjoyed my time with Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, it has definite issues as a rhythm platformer. It can become a bit of a slog to play in long sessions, but it's nice in short bursts. If you're already a League of Legends fan looking for a different sort of experience, it's hard not to recommend Hextech Mayhem, though it may be a slightly tougher sell otherwise.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Mario Party Superstars ultimately marks a great entry in the franchise, getting back to the basics and building off of the stabilizing force that Super Mario Party provided for the wayward series, while stripping away some other innovations that had found their way into the franchise over the last several entries. This is Mario Party as you remember it – whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you. For me, it’s a great thing – the chaotic board game is back in its full backstabbing glory, with arguably the best minigame roster in the series and full online play from day one. In looking to the past, Mario Party Superstars has taken a much-needed step forward for the series.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania marks a return to form for the series, even if I am left hoping that we receive some substantial content updates in the near future to fill in gaps left from the originals. Fans who need an exact recreation of the originals or require challenge mode multiplayer might want to skip this one or wait for a deep discount, but those who just want to play Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 again or the first time should absolutely pick this one up on Switch, especially if you enjoy playing on the go. Overall, Dying Light: Platinum Edition does a lot quite well on Switch. Aside from some technical hiccups and a pretty insignificant narrative, the game shines behind a satisfying gameplay loop with buildings to climb, upgrades to snag, and zombies to smack. With loads of packed-in DLC content and a few multiplayer modes piled on top of a sizable base game, fans of the gameplay loop will find dozens of hours of gratifying zombie-crushing entertainment. Ahead of a sequel set to arrive in February, the game does little to push genre limits or set new standards, but it’s an easy recommendation for fans of open-world titles, fun gameplay, and zombies.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Lego Marvel Super Heroes has plenty to offer to Lego and Marvel fans alike. A brisk but well-paced story takes you on an enjoyable ride while constantly introducing new characters and locations. Fantastic vocal performances and comedic writing make great use of the Marvel characters from both the movies and the comic books, and it’s topped off by an entertaining open world to let players mess around with characters to their heart's content. Some small graphical and control issues remind you that this isn’t a modern title, but that said, once you’re flying around Manhattan as Iron Man, these flaws are soon forgotten.- Nintendo Enthusiast

The first all-new 2D Metroid in 19 years was well worth the wait. Its movement, combat, and environments are all top-notch, and the pacing will keep you hooked all the way through the end. The story is a wild ride that expands on interesting ideas from Fusion and Samus Returns in meaningful ways. There are a few technical hiccups, frustrating level design choices, and repeated mini-bosses, but my enthusiasm was never swayed thanks to a steady stream of exciting and memorable moments that kept my hands glued to the controller until the credits rolled. Dread is a stellar sequel to Fusion and a triumphant return that easily ranks among the best in the 2D series.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Hot Wheels Unleashed is the Hot Wheels racing game that we have been waiting on for a while. It delivers outside of a few hiccups. Axiom Verge 2 is a must-have for fans of the first, and worth checking out for anyone who enjoys the genre. Monster Hunter Rise manages to continue the series trend of delivering an excellent action RPG while also offering meaningful rewards and addicting gameplay. The game's new additions such as the Palamute and Wirebugs add more depth to what was an already solid foundation. Kamura Village is downright gorgeous, with the surrounding areas teeming with monsters both new and old. I'm excited to continue to play the game for the foreseeable future, playing online with my friends and completing what seems to be nearly endless content.- Nintendo Enthusiast

If you're in the mood for a mobile-like puzzle experience, I highly recommend Sokodice. Conceptually, it's easy to pick up, new mechanics are regularly added to increase puzzle variety and difficulty, and it's practically designed to fit perfectly in those little gaps in your day when you only have a few minutes to spare.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Chained has a gameplay system that's easy to learn, yet hard to master and an interesting story hook to motivate the mechanics. It's a bit too easy and the story ends abruptly, but it's still a terrific puzzler from Studio Digital Caffeine.- Nintendo Enthusiast

In Bravely Default II, you either break the battle system with some beautiful strategy, or it breaks you. And that’s the thrill of it. Taking charge of massive customization options to build a party that can uniquely demolish the varied bosses is incredibly satisfying and never gets old. When you couple that stellar action with a phenomenal soundtrack, it becomes possible to forgive the game’s uninspired story and technical hiccups. And while I really wish Square Enix were not struggling so much to tell a great story lately, Bravely Default II is still an utterly addicting RPG and an excellent addition to the Nintendo Switch library.- Nintendo Enthusiast

If you're looking for a soul-crushingly difficult platformer, look no farther than Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection. It retains a lot of what made the original such a classic, while also updating it with some more modern mechanics. Despite a few areas that felt a little unfair, with patience, you should be able to complete a single run within a few hours, allowing the game to never feel like it overstays its welcome, even after completing it three times over a single weekend. Whether you're a newcomer to the franchise or a long-time veteran, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is one hauntingly good time.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Cyber Shadow could explain some aspects of its gameplay better, and it doesn’t do much to innovate in its genre. However, with meticulous game design, challenging yet fair obstacles, a meaty length, and beautiful 8-bit pixel art, Cyber Shadow is a memorable and high-quality action platformer.- Nintendo Enthusiast

At the end of the day, Olija is a voyage that is quite a blast, even though it ends quickly. Swapping out various weapons while building a combo that ends in a devastating harpoon explosion is quite a thrill. Additionally, the denizens and missing crewmates you find along the way contribute to a mysterious tale that will keep you guessing as to what is truly going on. And I enjoy any title that brings the seminal Another World to mind. As long as you don’t mind a compact trek that is a bit on the easy side, you’ll find Olija is well worth a look.- Nintendo Enthusiast

With colorful characters, amazing music, and liberal references to classic games, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition has a lot going for it, but players who don't already have an attachment to the Scott Pilgrim franchise may not be impressed with its sluggishness and the little issues that remain from the original release.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Traffix is deceptive with its beautifully clean minimalist aesthetic. That theme is juxtaposed next to its frantic, reflex-based gameplay that will have you hitting the restart button time and again to get a perfect score. Nevertheless, it turns the typically stressful situation of a congested commute into that of a fun strategy game that can be enjoyed by anyone.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Sniper Elite 4 takes the foundation laid out by the franchise's prior entries and elevates it to new heights. Larger open levels and multi-mode items provide more freedom to tackle missions as you see fit, allowing for the sniping components of the game to really shine. However, unless you can play with friends, you might have a hard time finding a match for multiplayer. Despite this, Sniper Elite 4 is still a fantastic experience that fans of shooters won't want to miss.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Doom Eternal is every bit the evolution of its predecessor that fans could have hoped for, and Panic Button has done one hell of a job porting it over to Nintendo Switch. Faster-paced combat challenges you to adapt your strategies, make meaningful decisions, and use everything in your arsenal to counter all manner of intelligent demons and their unique weaknesses. Well-designed levels break up the intense encounters with precise platforming, and at almost every corner there are rewarding upgrades and worthwhile secrets to uncover. While your enjoyment of the plot will depend on how you engage with it, and it isn't the most graphically impressive version of the game, Doom Eternal on Nintendo Switch is a worthy way to practice demon-slaying on the go.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 might be a hard sell if you already own the first game and aren't a die-hard fanatic. This release doesn't change up the entire formula but instead improves on nearly every aspect of the previous title with more characters, more modes, and a delightful new story mode. There are minor missteps like the half-baked Skill Battle mode, but the amount of addictive content on offer is still extremely impressive. If you never picked up Puyo Puyo Tetris, though, you owe it to yourself to grab this one.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Immortals Fenyx Rising is not as hyper-polished an experience as its clear inspiration, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but it succeeds at creating its own identity thanks to excellent and comedic use of Greek mythology, a fast combat system that offers lots of satisfying character upgrades for Fenyx, and a wide assortment of unique weapons and armor to collect that keeps exploration rewarding. Cake Bash is sweet and tasty all-out multiplayer mayhem, even if it lacks a little depth. There’s enough variety in the mini games to keep you playing, especially in Get Tasty mode. However, we wish that unlocking mini games and stages in Recipe mode were more clearly laid out. Things can also get a little hectic and confusing on Nintendo Switch’s handheld display, with docked play definitely preferable. If you’re after another frantic and fun co-op party game, Cake Bash is a great addition to your Switch library.- Nintendo Enthusiast

Pikmin has not taken off to the extent that it deserves, but Pikmin 3 Deluxe just might change that when paired with Nintendo Switch’s software momentum. It’s the perfect entry point for the series with a wonderfully balanced campaign that is structured to the player’s liking. Challenges are tons of fun, this time slightly bolstered by the additional content from Olimar’s Assignment, and Bingo Battle makes for some deceptively fun competitive multiplayer. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a reminder that this game (and trilogy) succeeds at just about everything it tries.
