Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is an honest tribute to the genre as it was in the nineties. The severe lack of modern quality of life features might discourage new players but the gameplay is rock solid and feels Suikoden every step of the way. Which is enough said.

Overwatch 2 is more akin to a big update than a full fledged sequel: it still is the fun, dynamic and charismatic shooter it was but the new free to play model is lackluster and predatory.

Everspace is an intriguing and fresh roguelike enriched by a touch of space opera and stunning graphics. Not so balanced for the first hours, it gets gradually better thanks to the permanent upgrades system.

The PC version of State of Decay brings all the exciting survival experience already seen on Xbox 360. While the content is basically the same, the game looks now better thanks to 1080p support and improved textures.

Despite the major changes that will surely be met with skepticism by longtime fans, Civilization 7 is a work that is perfectly consistent with the vision of its creators. Taken individually, innovations like the transforming civilizations and the separation between eras might seem jarring, but together they fit seamlessly into the evolution pursued by Firaxis, which is now much more focused on specific moments in human history and provides an outstanding synthesys between the fourth, the fifth and the sixth installment.

Whether you are a lone wolf or a death squad, The Division 2 Warlords of New York can offer much fun to looter shooter lovers, more than you could expect after the troubled start of the title a year ago.

A solid alternative to the Monster Hunter series that sincerely surprised us with its combat flow and complex karakuri system. There's definitely a lot of balancing to be done, and the PC version has some clear optimization problems... still, this is a great action game that we wholeheartedly recommend, and has a lot of potential for the future.

Battle for Azeroth lacks the novelties and polish of your usual WoW expansion but the new locales, enemies and storylines looks fascinating and promising. However Blizzard has tons of things to tweak and fix in the coming months.

If you have already purchased any of the remakes of Final Fight, you could easily consider this Double Impact bundle as an expensive and unattractive product. If not, this is your best chance to buy it: the game comes with a very good online multiplayer mode, and you also get a decent bonus title.

Call of Duty: WWII is a solid shooter with a lot of content to play with and a beautiful gameplay. The campaign mode is well-written even if it's not so original, but it's in multiplayer that this chapter really shines. If you appreciated the brand and were bored by the latest iteration this is the right year to fall back in love.

Luto is a horror of the soul. It inherits the form of P.T., but changes the substance with intelligence, building a reflection on our connection with personal ghosts. It does so by exploring non-Euclidean spaces and drawing on many works that have deconstructed the house as a place of memory, reimagining it as a mental labyrinth. Intangible and uncanny when the domestic hearth becomes an inner prison. Luto is a loop that must be broken not necessarily through logic. It’s a deconstruction of the genre, but also an intriguing celebration of it. It manages to be frightening while also sorrowful and melancholic, even with the flaws of a debut work.

Digimon Story Time Stranger isn’t perfect, but it’s undoubtedly the most ambitious entry in the franchise to date — both in terms of content and the depth of its gameplay mechanics. It offers an intriguing narrative, excellent longevity, and the chance to meet and collect over four hundred Digimon (some of which can even be ridden), all while exploring, in alternating moments, both the real and digital worlds. That said, it’s undeniable that this isn’t a flawless title. From a technical standpoint, despite the refinements and overall visual appeal, its origins as a last-generation project are apparent at every turn. Moreover, despite all the new ideas and innovations introduced, dungeon exploration remains rather static and repetitive, and the combat system doesn’t reach the depth that fans might have hoped for — even if it is, admittedly, more technical than in the past. In short, there’s still work to be done — but the direction is the right one. “All together,” then, “all for the Digimon,” as the old anime theme song once said.
