Mighty Goose is a lethal mix of weapons, geese and space enemies and closely resembles the Metal Slug series.

I am Setsuna is as vintage as it can get and manages to recall what we did love about the JRPG genre in the '90. It is however very low budget and comparatively expensive. It also tries to tell a good story at a somewhat frantic pace in repetitive locations and throughout extremely simple fights.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 comes unchanged from last year, with the same game modes and the same gameplay. If you already own the previous edition, then don't even bother; otherwise, this is still the best soccer you can play on PSP.

Hitman – Episode 5: Colorado gives to the players four targets but very few opportunities to choose. The map is different from the previous locations, even though the level design is quite linear.

9 Years of Shadow is not a true metroidvania and should not be approached as such. It is a scrolling action game that is linear most of the time and does not have much content, as you can get 100% in less than ten hours. The combo system is very simple, with few moves available, and attacks from a distance are far too powerful. If you are a fan of the genre you might give it a chance, as soon as you find it in a price range you think is appropriate, but don't expect it to be your new benchmark in terms of quality.

Space Marine comes as the fulfillment of a dream for fans of the universe created in the late '80s by Games Workshop. It's a third person shooter with combat elements, indubitably inspired by Gears of War but still capable of showing some personality. The single player campaign, which lasts eight to ten hours depending on the level of difficulty and number of attempts, is very well told, even with some exciting plot twists in the final stages. Definitely not a masterpiece, but as a solid and engaging action game that will win you over with its quality.

Fun and entertaining, Guns Gore & Cannoli delivers a good taste of the old days shooters. Its problems are length and no extra things to do once the experience ends.

While undoubtedly a good game, Sky Crawlers is indeed is a stripped down version of Ace Combat, with simplified gameplay, decent graphics and a kinda short story mode. Just don't even try to play it with the awkward default motion sensor controls.

Pendragon excels in mixing procedural storytelling with a roguelike structure and the fascinating story of the last days of King Arthur, but it gets a little repetitive in some combat moments.

Binary Domain is a nice surprise. Shooting mechanics are really well-devised, with an astounding mecha design and boss fight. Unfortunately the light rpg squad aspect of the game doesn't work properly.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties fulfills a long-standing wish of SEGA series fans, finally delivering a proper remake of the third chapter in Kazuma Kiryu's saga, brought up to date with the latest entries both technically and in terms of gameplay and content. The main campaign is improved in many respects, the extra activities are highly enjoyable, and the Dark Ties expansion, despite its limitations, stands as an additional bonus to an already solid and convincing package.

With so many good twin-stick shooters on the App Store, Revolt just can't stand out. The main problem is about the bad level design, with always the same locations and a repetitive single-player mode. The equipment is fully upgradeable, but, even if it has some golden times, the game will bore you really soon. Finally, different levels of difficulty and unlockable achievements are not enough to replay the game a second time.
