The new Oregon Trail by Gameloft shows finally a real improvement and some rethinking about the design itself of a classic that persist from the early 70s.

Party Animals is probably the most entertaining and funny cooperative brawler out there at the moment, making it easy to forget even its most fierce competitor, Gang Beasts. Yet, little details like a high input lag and a totally useless game camera provided to each player downmies the true scope that this little game could have accomplished.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II came across as one of the weaker entries in the saga, due to a less-than-stellar narrative that stumbles awkwardly before finding its footing. Fortunately, the memorable cast and a noticeably improved combat system compared to the previous installment support a lengthy adventure in which Nihon Falcom may have tried to cram in a bit too much. For this reason, it's hard to recommend to casual players with little interest in The Legend of Heroes, who might struggle to appreciate even its charming yet undeniably outdated technical aspects. Fans of the series, on the other hand, can rest easy: despite its weaknesses, it still remains a must-buy.

Dear me, I was… is a very short narrative experience, affordably priced, where player interaction is stripped down to the bare minimum, just light touches that move the story forward. And yet, the storytelling is outstanding, despite not using a single word. It’s the images that speak instead, the extraordinary art of Taisuke Kanasaki, returning to illustrate a video game after a long time. His mastery of the rotoscope technique reaches new heights here, gifting the characters with moments of exceptional visual intensity. It’s certainly not a game for everyone, and not the kind of comeback fans of Another Code or Hotel Dusk might have expected. But it is a bittersweet portrait, capable of stirring emotion with great subtlety. It’s worth the price of admission for the hour of beauty it offers alone.

In the ever-growing landscape of modern beat 'em ups, Scott Pilgrim EX undoubtedly manages to carve out a prominent spot for itself, thanks to a structure that cleverly blends classic genre mechanics with various RPG elements. While it isn't the first side-scrolling brawler to take this path, and certain aspects still need polishing—specifically a perhaps excessive number of random encounters and a rather pronounced grinding component—the overall result is more than solid. Indeed, we are presented with an excellent combat system that is deeper than it first appears, supported by seven playable characters, all of whom are well-differentiated in their style and approach to combat. This is further bolstered by a good variety of enemies and well-crafted boss battles that succeed in keeping the challenge level high. For fans of the graphic novel (or the animated series), the witty dialogue and numerous Easter eggs provide significant added value. The collaboration with the original creator is reflected in the care given to the atmosphere, while the art and sound design convincingly capture the work's identity, showcasing the development team's passion and attention to detail.

Twisted Metal is the latest entry in the brutal car combat series of David Jaffe and Eat Sleep Play. It is a fun game that aims to make his fans happy, but due to some problems especially in online service, the game cannot earn a higher score.

Derivative but not too much, aimed to children but also to many grown-ups, we can finally understand why Yo-Kai Watch has unleashed, in Japan, a craze second only to that of Pokémon itself.

Windjammers is the same fun game released 23 years ago on Neo-Geo, with the exception of the new online mode formula. Once again gives it’s best if played with other gamers, but the price is a little too high compared with the actual available contents.

Evil Dead: The Game is a very interesting asymmetrical multiplayer game, extremely faithful to the atmospheres and suggestions of the horror saga created by Sam Raimi, as well as capable of delivering a relatively fresh cooperative and competitive gameplay. Played with friends the title is fun and exciting, but the formula couldn't hold up very long due to the limited and confusing combat system, as well as some technical issues on PC.

Impressive when it comes to sheer content, rich in new enemies, items, and even sporting a new amazing weapon, Dragon of the North is a definite must have for Nioh fans. Still, the partly exploitable combat system makes the pvp chaotic at its best, unplayable at its worst, and the difficulty unbalanced for those players who invested a lot of hours in making William a true killing machine.

It's a shame that this porting of Max & The Magic Marker is the most poor version so far. Despite the developers' efforts, the small screen of the iPhone makes impossible to draw accurate lines and shapes. The iPad version is slightly better, but it still has some problems with the controls.

MAG delivers a massive online multiplayer for up to 256 players, a good matchmaking and almost no lag. The maps are huge, but they come with a mediocre design and you can see only four of them when you choose your army. The frame rate has frequent issues, while the sound effects are mediocre. We were expecting more from Zipper Interactive's PS3 debut.

Finding Teddy is a strange and wonderful trip inside a musical, poetic yet cruel, fable. As an adventure, it lacks some length and logic in its puzzles but as an overall experience, it's really worth it to spend a few hour between its strange locations and creatures.
