    Sunday Lawn Seasons
    Even if you embrace the simply and repetitive pathfinding gameplay, you may find the sometimes slippery controls leave you feeling robbed from time to time - a pity, as we definitely had our share of fun with the game. A free-to-play offering with the option to earn or purchase new level packs would also have helped Sunday Lawn Seasons stand out much more in a tough week of new releases.

    Debonair Facial Hair
    Despite the brevity and repetition of Debonair Facial Hair, it's by no means without its charms, although you can expect to get much more value for money elsewhere in the App Store. Right now the whole package feels like a bit of a prototype, but those with younger children will likely get decent mileage out of the game.

    While Football Heroes is hardly the next NFL Blitz, it is a fun little football romp to play when taking a break from Madden. It's worth a trip to the end zone.

    If you're a fan of endless runners, Miner Problem is undoubtedly worth a shot. It's free-to-play and has enough content to take a few runs with. Just don't expect to stick with the game for too long before the whole thing crumbles apart.

    Striker Soccer 2
    Had Striker Soccer 2 charged a flat fee instead of going down the freemium route - and done away with a handful of problems at the same time - it would've been an unbeatable champion. As it stands, it's still worth a look, but don't be surprised if you return to FIFA pretty quickly afterwards.

    Rayman Fiesta Run
    Fans of Jungle Run can certainly look forward to another generous dollop of creatively crafted levels in Fiesta Run, and we're left largely impressed by this bright and breezy sequel. Not even a handful of minor niggles can stop this from being very easy to recommend to gamers of all tastes and ages.

    Star Wars: Tiny Death Star
    There's enough that's new about Tiny Death Star to make it worthy of note for even the most burned-out Tiny Tower fan, while at the same time remaining faithful to everything that made the original so horribly, horribly addictive. An accomplished remix by anyone's standards.

    Axes & Allies
    Although it takes an interesting approach to real-time strategy combat, and features some nice visual work, Axes & Allies gameplay is just too much of a drag, thanks to those tetchy controls and the rather trying freemium model at play here. Sadly, this axe just wears down into dullness rather quickly.

    Astro Boy Dash
    Astro Boy Dash is free-to-play, so anime and endless runner fans won't lose anything by giving it a try. With that said, it really would be a much better game if it had more accurate controls, and a slower pace. Quite simply, Astro's in need of a post-release tune-up.

    If you've loved the likes of Flick Kick Soccer and New Star Soccer in the past, you should absolutely give Soccer Moves a go - although we'd hold some way back from placing this game in the same league as those mobile masterpieces. Just don't expect it to be an easy or intuitive learning experience in the early days of your career.

    Pocket God: Ooga Jump
    Bolt Creative's Pocket God: Ooga Jump is hardly an original effort - it's essentially a more tropical edition of Doodle Jump - but it still manages to impress, thanks to its diversity of dangers and trouble-free control system. Despite the time it takes to collect gems, and the somewhat repetitive gameplay, it's an undeniably joyous time-waster.

    While simpler than other mobile games, NinJump Rooftops is a charming follow-up and worth downloading. In the end, this ninja's as sharp as ever.

    Thor: The Dark World - The Official Game
    Had Gameloft just charged a flat fee and offered a virtual joypad control set-up, Thor: The Dark World would've fared much better in the final analysis. Instead, it simply feels like a bit of a chore. Save your cash for the film.

    Anomaly 2
    Despite a handful of technical hiccups, Anomaly 2 is everything fans of the previous games in the series would have asked for, and is a very easy sale for existing Anomaly nuts. Those who are put off by the typically static, reactive gameplay of the tower-defense genre, could do a lot worse than Anomaly 2 if they wish to discover what this gaming scene is really capable of.

    Everyday Spelunker isn't for everyone, and some people will simply give up before even attempting the game's later levels. That said, old-school platforming fans - and nostalgic NES lovers - can very happily buy with confidence.

    Skylanders Swap Force is another entertaining 3DS game, and one of the few that compliments its console counterpart. Considering it's compatible with previously released Skylanders, there's a tremendous amount of value packed into the box. The missions feel familiar, but that probably won't matter much to hardcore fans desperate for their newest fix.

    If you can get over the fiddly controls and erratic challenge of Rabbids Big Bang, you'll probably get a dollar's worth of fun out of the game, and it's by no means without its charms.     Sonic: Lost World
    Considering how disappointed we were with Generations, Lost World is the Sonic game 3DS deserved. The wealth of tricky environments, hidden items and even four-person races for ambitious players make it a worthwhile purchase, even at $39.99.
