We're not sure the combat system is enough to keep you engaged with the Arena of War for a huge amount of time, but it is refreshingly different and you should definitely give the game a go. Even if you'll only be able to play in relatively short bursts, this is a great fantasy game, beautifully produced, and packed with plenty of depth if you have the patience or cash to go deeper.

Despite feeling like a grind at times - especially when it comes to waiting on a stamina refill or buying new goods - Batman: Arkham Origins will certainly put a smile on the faces of Batman fans. A fair offering to fill the gap until the console game comes out.

If the original CSR Racing's business model turned your stomach, you'd be advised to give CSR Classic a pretty wide berth. And that's once again a huge pity, because while the reflex gameplay is simple it's also a lot of fun when you're playing it. If you don't mind either playing in short bursts, or paying in large bursts, there's fun to be had here alongside the frustration.

Despite its flaws, Monster Adventures is one of the catchiest Pokemon wannabes you'll find on the market right now. The gameplay is addictive and will keep you battling for hours on end, and the multiplayer component will draw you in even further. If you're Pokemon-ed out, then you gotta catch this.

Simogo's come up with another unmissable game - an ingenious slice of puzzling adventure that's as imaginative as it is stylish. Whether you played Year Walk or not, you can't let this one pass you by.

Despite a presentation that's right up Ravenous Games' alley, Random Runners gets nowhere fast due to its punishing level design and two-tier reward system. Hardcore gamers may feel right at home here, but others may want to stick to old-school platformers that give them a better chance at success. Ravenous' own League of Evil series certainly comes to mind.

Harmony really is a lovely game that will give you a serious mental workout. The core puzzling concept feels fresh, the presentation is absolutely gorgeous, and you'll come back to play the game just to listen to the soundtrack.

In spite of some minor flaws, Escape From Doom represents a great addition to the endless runner genre. The affordable price, the array of weapons, and the exquisite visuals should keep you running back to mummy again and again.

For sheer throwaway fun, it's hard to go wrong with Arcade Ball. It's not the most sophisticated gaming experience you'll ever have, but it is surprisingly addictive. In other words, give it a go. And then maybe just one more go...

Rakoo's Adventure doesn't reinvent the endless runner, but it takes its unique theme and rolls with it, offering up some very entertaining gameplay and an abundance of unlockable goodies.. If you're a fan of the genre, or looking for something for younger players to enjoy, you're likely to fall in love with it.

Drift Mania Street Outlaws may not possess the same technical flair of the Real Racing series, or the polished arcade thrills of Asphalt 8, but it's a very welcome addition to the racing genre nevertheless. Just be prepared to work a little harder than you should to master the tricky controls.

It's a wonderfully fresh take on what's become a pretty stale area of mobile gaming over the last 12 months or so, and is simply an essential download for any fan of the genre.

If you're looking for a different kind of NASCAR game - one that provides a strategic take on the sport - Redline may well be worth taking for a spin. Otherwise, with its ridiculous paywall system and repetitive gameplay, it may leave you feeling rather flat.

When all's said and done, there's no denying that Jewel Mania remains the fiendishly addictive little puzzle game it's always been, and your kids will love the Halloween flavor to this seasonal edition. Don't expect anything revolutionary, but do expect more than a few missed bus stops. You've been warned.

No, Gunner Z won't change the zombie-shooter genre as we know it, but it's a solid entry that deserves a download, especially if you like watching black-and-white carnage fly. Destruction is still destruction, after all.

How you approach Marvel Puzzle Quest depends on your expectations. It's not complete, and having to pay for stronger characters is a bummer. That said, the concept works, there's plenty of other stuff to unlock and the multiplayer will keep you entertained. Considering it's free, you have nothing to lose by downloading it.

On that note, Airplane! is a decent flight sim, with a control scheme that everyone can adjust to and plenty of vehicles. Unfortunately, its real-time flight system and slightly unfair freemium set-up may leave some players grounded.

That aside, X and Y are great editions to the Pokemon franchise, ideal for gamers who walked away from the series and hardcore fans who have been there the whole way. On that note, generation six is a mega evolution of its own. With this in mind, we highly recommend X and Y for any Pokemon fan or 3DS owner looking to complete their game collections.

It's hard to recommend The Cave to a mainstream audience, mainly due to its faulty touch controls and tedious pace. However, if you're a Gilbert fan or want an offbeat title that'll keep you busy for a few hours, dive into this dark place.

Candy Blast Mania rips off a lot of Crush's better assets, and the freemium model is bound to frustrate. That said, it's still worth checking out, especially for its power-ups and boss battles. Besides, it's nice to have something to play while you wait for turns in Candy Crush Saga.
