For three dollars, Canabalt is a steal. While its push-button gameplay may not please everyone, its fast pacing, astounding presentation and undeniable replay value will give you a proverbial run for your money.

EA and Criterion were wise to include the well-received Autolog from games past, giving players the opportunity to keep track of other people's scores and challenge them outright to ascend the leaderboard. It worked remarkably well in the Need for Speed series, and it's a welcome addition here as well.

Even with Telepods and needing to pay to unlock content, Angry Birds Star Wars 2 is another top-notch game from Rovio.

The best part of the game are the job classes. Final Fantasy III was the first of the series to feature job changing, which helps the replayability aspect of the game.

We've always praised this game for its catchy music, bubblegum graphics and likeable hero. Nothing here has changed our collective opinion. If anything, this is the definitive Kirby's Adventure.

Taken for what it is, Ski Safari provides several hours of snow-carving fun, and this is made even cooler with the inclusion of in-game achievements and, most importantly, leaderboards via Game Center, where the desire to rise up a few levels will definitely fuel your virtual skiing addiction.

Tap Tap Revenge Tour does a great job of living up to the legacy of one of the most popular music gaming series on the App Store. There's a huge amount of variety in the music selections, a pretty generous chunk of free tracks, and the Jam mode lets you carry on rocking even while you wait for the cooldown on your career.

Bombcats isn't just another physics puzzler, then, but there's no getting away from the fact that it is just one more addition to a very large pile of like-minded games. With that said, and taken on its own merits, this is a perfectly polished title that offers up some much-needed variety for fans of the genre. It's not a revolution, and it's certainly not the game long-term fans of the studio would have been hoping for, but Bomb Cats certainly knows how to scratch any time-killing itch you have.

In the end this Donkey Kong probably won't strike anybody as a instant classic, but it doesn't need to be in order to be very fun to play.

It's a fair addition to the Sonic universe, the kids will love it, and you may find that you yourself play it for far longer than you might expect.

Wave Trip carries on Lucky Frame's tradition of producing experimental music games that still manage to deliver a satisfying traditional gaming experience.

We grew tired of "runners" months ago, but Don't Run With A Plasma Sword renewed our faith in these types of games, thanks to the addition of combat. Whip out that sword and come out swinging.

Jack Lumber packs enough content and line drawing mayhem to warrant a look, especially from players that enjoy over the top characters. After weeks of hearing about this game, however, we expected something more exciting. Instead, it made us yawn.

Dead Trigger fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as this is a very worthy sequel. Even prettier than before, but with the same meaty destruction of the undead, Dead Trigger is a very welcome addition to the App Store.

Bottom line, a lot of attention (perhaps too much) went into making the cats look impressive, and thankfully, they are. You can see a personality in their eyes that most virtual pet games lack, and before long, you may even begin to think about the animal throughout the day as if it were real.

We think Avengers Initiative is one of the best fighting adventure games on the App Store, as well as the best Incredible Hulk title we've played in years. Marvel fans will love every second, and with the promise of at least three other characters, we have a feeling we'll play this one for quite some time.

If you like the genre the game is a no-brainer. If you're merely puzzle-curious, Exit would be an excellent game to test out your taste for it.

There's little about Virtua Tennis 4 that'll surprise longtime fans, making this entry feel like more of the same. Yes, it comes with Vita exclusive bonuses, but you'll quickly grow tired of them and fall back on intense volleys and furious cross court smashes. To that end, World Tour Edition falls short of an ace, but still manages to hold serve.

Its play mechanics are still rather amusing and its additional challenges and world will keep you busy, even if you nailed the game at 100 percent years ago.

So yes, Blot is a clone, but it's a damn good one. Jetpack Joyride gets the nod, in large part because it's free, but if you have $0.99, this runner (perhaps floater is more appropriate) comes recommended.

Pulse left us wanting more, and it remains to be seen whether Ciper Prime will deliver. While enjoyable, the game feels a bit unfinished, and there seems to be a ton of potential that the designers may or may not fulfill.

An enjoyable RPG thanks to it's excellent, intense battles and the ability to actually create and take responsibility for your weapons, instead of just buying them from a shopkeeper.

We think quite highly of Reckless Getaway and strongly recommend downloading it, especially if you enjoy sticking it to the man or need a break from standard issue racing games.

N.Y.Zombies should be on your radar. While not perfect by any means, this cool and cheap shooter has enough action to keep zombie fanatics busy until the real undead apocalypse arrives.

As cool as the game is, the App lacks the addictive quality of those match-three and falling block puzzle games. At the end of the day, we can put it down.

Ultimately, the price is RayStorm's biggest issue. We can debate the game's overall quality, we think it's quite good, but at the end of the day, it's a tough shooter to recommend with such a high barrier to entry. A satisfying interstellar trek, but one that comes with sticker shock.

It clearly makes sense for Zynga to stick to a tried formula in both the style of gameplay and a recognizable interface that every member of the gaming audience has grown comfortable with, but there's no denying that the set-up is starting to feel just a little tired. Still, this is a very addictive little game that breathes new life into one of our favorite genres.

There's an awful lot to like about Vampire Season: it's a beautifully drawn game, there's great variety in the cast of characters, and this is a game that knows better than to take itself too seriously. We did occasionally get annoyed with the rather out-of-control camera which can zoom into the action when you really don't want it too, but apart from that this is a very refreshing take on an increasingly stale genre.
