Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues the great efforts from the 2019 installment by improving every aspect without taking too many risks.

Inspired by classic cinema, Alfred Hitchcock Vertigo is a good adaptation of the 1958 film. Its original design, sound work, and love of classic cinema shine through in a game lacking in gameplay. Its story and surprising plot twists are very worthwhile.

Signalis is a love letter for the classic survival horror genre and that kind of fear and sci-fi mix that never fails. One of the surprises of this year.

Bayonetta 3 is an action adventure that seeks to surprise in the variety of options and situations. It maintains the excellent combat of its predecessors and adds the summons as a great claim: more spectacular but also less challenging. When we fight with the witch of Umbra or with Viola - her phases are great - everything goes smoothly and it is the delivery we expected for rhythm, variety and quality of weapons, as well as some interesting advanced mechanics for higher difficulty levels. But the game falls short in many of the new proposals that are interspersed, from uninspired puzzles to minigames, going through sequences or combats that are too simple and not very dynamic. With all this, the fact that its predecessors set the bar very high does not hide the reality: this is a very good game and an essential for Switch.

Are you playing one of those bland interactive storytelling games again?, one character asks another at one point. New Tales from the Borderlands is like that. Funny, capable of laughing at himself and very clear in his proposal. But also bland. Characters, plot and situations have lost magic, the quick time events are terrible (worse than usual), and their decisions don't bother to hide one of the most linear adventures in the genre.

Is Gotham Knights good? Yes, our opinion is yes. The main difference with the Arkham saga is that this Gotham Knights is not an action adventure game that you'll get through in 12-15 hours and go for another one, but an action RPG that you'll spend hours playing, where the character development is slow. There are some good things, and others to improve, and the visuals are not in par with what PS5 and Series X can do, but overall, and especially if you're a Batsy fan, it's a game that will hook you if you accept that it's not about Batman, but about his absence.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is what we all expected from a sequel, besides the lost of surprise in his final version. With his pros and cons, fans of narrative adventures will love this.

Scorn offers a superb and unforgettable setting influenced by the work of artist H.R. Giger, in a first person puzzle adventure with combat. Unfortunately, the puzzles are generic and lack deep and varied mechanics, and the combat sections don't quite work. Recommended for lovers of the Swiss artist's work and extreme and bizarre settings.

Unusual findings is a love letter to the 80´s in the form of an awesome point and click adventure game. Inspired by classics as Explorers or The Goonies, it delivers a great story with lovable characters full of satisfying puzzles. A modern cult classic of the genre, an unforgettable adventure that can be considered the best point and click game of the year, even above Return To Monkey Island.

This new title based on the Gundam franchise offers an easy-to-learn combat system to engage on plenty of battles across the many series it has with a decent amount of mechs and pilots. It's fun to play but also lies far from better titles based on this franchise.

Hob's Barrow is an excellent modern point and click adventure game. It takes inspiration from British folklore to deliver an interesting plot, with solid characters and inspired dialogues. The puzzles are interesting and can be solved using logic. A must have for fans of the genre in a year full of great adventures.

Soulstice is a pleasant surprise, in an era where the soulslike style predominates, to see a double AA production that bets on hack and slash and it works is great news for the genre. An attractive combat system, along with an outstanding graphic and artistic style, a remarkable soundtrack and a storyline that will make us want to move forward.

South of the Circle is a little love story in tumultuous social and geopolitical years. A game accessible to all types of audiences, whether they are players or not. The empathetic capacity that video games offer benefits what could have been a movie or a television series. Exciting story about the labyrinths of memory with a more radical cinematic influence than other games that use it regularly.

It has taken 31 years for Ron Gilbert to give us a new Monkey Island at the height of the saga. And the wait has been worth it. Return To Monkey Island is one of the best modern graphic adventures in years, and only a predictable story and a lack of spark in some characters take it away from the heights of the first two installments. An adventure full of humor and great puzzles.

Pompom is a fantastic option to enjoy at any time. A title that transports us to the first half of the 90s, with an artistic design that perfectly shows what its creator wanted, and a soundtrack that fits perfectly. Platforms and puzzles, with a multitude of mechanics, challenging final bosses and levels that we will have to repeat over and over again.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is a good example of how a remake should be made from a game that has aged well despite the peculiarities of its time, both in terms of mechanics and narrative. An interesting return to the past that seems even more attractive thanks to its reduced price.
