Anno 2070 is a new and attractive offer for fans of the genre, as it is a clear successor of Anno 1404. But Blue Byte's work still suffers the same defects as always: oversimplification of commercial, diplomatic and military elements. However, this is a high quality title and a perfect choice if you liked any of the Anno series titles. You should not hesitate to colonize the futuristic version of a these great games, although you're not a science fiction fan. And if you've never gone through any Anno-game, you will have a good opportunity to jump into the genre.

Laika: Aged Through Blood is a very original and satisfying metroidvania once you master the motorcycle, the true protagonist of a post-apocalyptic adventure of violence and revenge. A 2D game with a very stylish artistic direction and a soundtrack that you won't want to stop listening to.

One of the best 2D platform games in the last years. Varied game, full of possibilities and long. Donkey Kong Country Returns has a polished gameplay and brilliant artistic designs in the return for the most famous virtual monkey, now in a great hand-held version.

Death faces a great trip full of jumps, puzzles and combat. Darksiders II is much better than the first game, with variety and enormity until more than 25 hours. A classic adventure made with precious graphics.

The fourth chapter in the Shin Megami Tensei series delivers fun combat, an intriguing plot and a great lifespan. The Demon Fusion system is back at its best along with a handful of new features that makes the latest Megaten one of the best JRPGs to be found in 3DS's catalogue.

Original, quite fun and incredibly surprising. Shu Takumi's latest work's probably his best so far, although it's far from perfection. Buy it and you'll have tons of hours to have some fun dealing with the misterious death of Sissel, the ghost detective.

Crash is back on Track with Nitro-Fueled. A nostalgic experience that the classic players are going to love and the newcomers are going to have so much fun with. Despite its flaws, it's the remake we we're waiting for.

Age of Wonders 4 offers a profound gameplay when we talk about pure strategy, despite the battles are not at the same level. There is no doubt that it's a great entry to the genre and the Paradox portfolio.

Resident Evil 5 is a great game without any doubt. With a new storyline, it offers fans of the series the epic end of the Umbrella arc that they were hoping for. Great visuals and many extras, but the use of RE4's control scheme feels old, and doesn't work too well to this new 100% action style the game embraced instead Survival Horror. You would expect something better from Capcom nowadays.

A retro travel in all its glory with a outstanding quality, even when compared to the best of the series. Megaman 9 is a mandatory buy for the fans of the blue bomber, and a highly recommended title for those with a taste for classic gaming. Definitely, a proof that no matter how much time has passed, or the technical limitations of the old machines, a great game comes by the talent of its creators.

If you liked Human Revolution, you will no doubt enjoy Mankind Divided. The studio took a well-built base and made a very solid game around it with more or less the same virtues. However, we expect the studio to take more risks in future entries.

If you like Call of Duty, Black Ops II is your new game. It doesn't innovate, it invents nothing, and it plays to war as always. Multiplayer mode is amazing again and zombies cause more problems this time around. The AI, graphics and minimal improvement spoil an indispensable title for you, if you're a fan.

2K's still doing its job properly, just as it has to be done. The latest edition of the basketball sim has improved in every aspect of the gameplay mechanics, but's still suffering some lame player animations. With plenty of gameplay modes -including online, my player, real NBA stats...-, this year's version is one of the best sports videogames that we've played so far.

The work of 11 bit Studios is a marvelous cross between the aesthetic of Deadlight and the idea behind Zafehouse Diaries... With no zombies involved. A game about survival at its hardest, deepest, most depressing and most realistic shape. Its setting has that bit of post-apocalyptic game, but actually moves us to a reality that many people lives at many places right now. This War of Mine is the to war games like protest songs to pop-rock ones. A bold, brave and exciting offering that deserves to be played.

Battlefield 6 overall is a good comeback. The multiplayer side reminds us of the good old days, besides its missing a few elements from the big ones, like levolution. Beyond that, the campaign feels a barebones experience.

Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist is a safe bet for both Ender Lilies fans and any player who loves the metroidvania genre. A continuous experience with respect to its predecessor, with a more narrative and somewhat more accessible approach, but equally polished in each and every one of its sections. As in the first part, the studio hits the mark by offering a very satisfying experience at the controls. Despite presenting a level design that is not too intricate, it is still a clear candidate for metroidvania of the year, at the expense of what Hornet has to say, if Silksong arrives in time for GOTY 2025, of course.

Treasure gives us exactly that, a treasure. It’s an improved version of the classic Bangai-O, originally released for the N64 and later ported to Sega Dreamcast. More than 200 levels are waiting for a solution, and believe us: this is not especially easy. Take weapons and become the new Bangai-O rider to complete one of the funniest DS games. Indeed, Spirits includes a great level editor.

It's difficult to get back the magic of the early days, but Square Enix tried its best in order to develop a storyline that's worth living. With an outstanding graphics engine, an impressive story and a quite interesting gameplay style, the only element that Final Fantasy XIII's lacking is a better mechanics and not the just go-on-forward gameplay style that it offers. Still, it's a worth-buying JRPG if you're a fan of the genre. And if you're not, just give it a try.
