First, by how it comes off the most stifling and uncomfortable practices with the player; second, because its translation to consoles has materialized satisfactorily. Either with touch control or through buttons, Capybara Games rewards risk, adds challenge as we progress and gives personality to each situation, each enemy and each boss. Grindstone is the perfect example of what we tend to call "gamefeel".

The Talos Principle 2 is one of the best games of 2023, a spectacular year for the video game sector. Puzzles, philosophy and science fiction mix to offer an unforgettable experience. It manages to constantly surprise the player for more than 30 hours, with new mechanics in its puzzles, a superb story and a spectacular staging.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is one of the most complete fighting games to date, offering a decent roster of characters, as well as single-player and online modes, plus a considerable amount of extra content that will keep players interested for quite some time.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is an idea as good as Magic: The Gathering was. It's very similar to Magic cards and that's great. Although it's very accessible and visual, perfect for new players and experts. Blizzard has returned to work magic.

Nintendo teams up again with MercurySteam to bring us the first unreleased adventure of Samus Aran in side scrolling (remakes aside) since the premiere of Metroid Fusion in 2002. Control-wise, FIFA 11 offers several new features, but it has some ideas during the match that prevent it from vastly improving itself and becoming the ultimate football game. Its main features this year: playing as the goalkeeper and playing 11 vs 11 players online.

Despite some heavy patriotic messages that may sometimes distract the narrative, killing nazis is as fun as ever. Wolfenstein II expands over his predecessor with a rampage of old-school brutality, dual-wielding ass-kicking kills that makes it as one of the finest single player shooters of the recent days and a truly joyful experience. Highly recommended.

A flawless take on LittleBigPlanet on a system that looks especially well-suited for it. This version is faithful to the core of the LittleBigPlanet experience and manages to improve on other versions thanks to the great control system designed around Vita and novelties like the Memorizer that will add a new dimension to the creative work around this game.

Year after year, the series takes hold their place in the genre, adding new capabilities without sacrificing any of the features seen in previous versions. This sports title keeps on top of its genre, setting a benchmark for every football management simulator.

Old Hunters is more Bloodborne. Neither better, not different. More content, more challenging bosses and more weapons. If you loved it in February, you're gonna love this DLC.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is at the moment one of the best fighting games, and the unique that can be considered to the height of Street Fighter IV. Sprites in high definition, amazing backgrounds, fast and intense play system... The best game than Arc System Works never has created.

Battlefield 1 is all that can be expected from EA DICE game with first World War events. A solid cooperative and massive multiplayer experience, stunning visuals, great new additions and good netcode. It could have had more maps and a better campaign, but all that it offers runs very well.

Dead Cells is a complete success. The more you dive into what this castle-island has to offer, the higher the reward, while you battle thousands of monsters in unexpected ways. A true indie gem that any die-hard retro gamer will play forever.

Nioh Collection for PS5 is the best way to enjoy an essential series for lovers of RPG and action. Hundreds of hours of gameplay with all the content released so far, an agile, unique and demanding combat system and unique character and combat style customization possibilities.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is, in many ways, the game we hoped for to honor the original. It can be very satisfactory for the fans but the way it expands the history offers lights and shadows.

Nintendo proves once again why Pokemon is not a franchise just for kids. While not the most innovative sequel, Game Freak keeps adding new layers of depth to their formula, once again delivering something truly special to the fans.

Being as it's a marvelous example of how to rebuilt a JRPG from a traditional fan-base, DQIX's very much everything what we can expect on a Square Enix game, specially under this franchise: a considerable mixture of monsters, 50+ hours of pure fun and an interesting story. Bear in mind that this's multiplayer focused cartridge - you'll only take the 100% of its content playing along with some friends.

A new graphics engine takes the lead in a sixth generation that brings along tons of new Pokémons, new gameplay elements and the same old-school combat style that has earned a die hard fanbase for more than 20 years. It's Pokemon at his best, a must-have for both fans and 3DS owners.

Cuphead triumphs again on Switch, thanks to an excellent graphics work and an incredible boss plot design.

Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box is a great compilation. It offers the same game as last year's game, but with all the added features that appeared as DLC thought the year. It's been two years since it's release, but finally we can recommend Street Fighter V as one of the best titles of the genre. It was good gameplay-wise, but now it has some extra modes that adds length and depth to the full package. Arcade Edition it's, indeed, great.

Maybe not your average RTS, but Sins of a Solar Empire achieves something that other games don’t: it’s a compelling game, and from the moment you pick it up, you can’t avoid playing it until the end. With missions that last several days or weeks, users can exploit the deep gameplay thanks to its easy interface, in a very tactical game, but also really fun, both offline and online.

Heavy Rain is a game based on a good idea, but it doesn't work as well as we hoped it would. Gameplay-wise, it's not as open as it was supposed to be, thanks to the limits imposed by Quantic Dream. Its great visuals and the superb OST fall under the feeling that players are just mere spectators of the story.

Shinobi Art of Vengeance is the next big thing for modernized 2D games. Combat, platforming and visual style are top notch, but the game also manages to capture what made the Shinobi games of yesteryear remembered until today.

A stunning adventure, one of Matsuno's masterworks, a good example of how to develop a Strategy RPG with an intriguin' storyline. Plenty of new additions to the gameplay mechanics, it's yet another game that should be on any gamer's shelve.

The closer camera, the new controls and the revamped progression system, with gradual acquisition of upgrades for the onions, our astronaut and his canine companion, make for another kind of adventure. A more relaxed and accessible one, but also one that still preserves that Nintendo touch. Not always easy to put into words, but evident as soon as you pick up the controller.

Guybrush Theepwood strikes back in the remake of his best adventure so far. Also, Lechuck's Revenge is one of the best of his genre. A great adventure game and a fantastic remake.

Despite its mediocre collision engine, a far cry from the physics system, an AI that can be improved and some convoluted menus, Gran Turismo 7 is a declaration of love to the world of motorsport. Its didactic commitment and appreciation for every car makes all the difference. Gran Turismo is synonymous with racing, but not only that. Accessible and deep at the same time, this is a must-have for cars enthusiasts, a title with the potential to last an entire generation.
