Behind its simplistic but charming appearance, together with its original rhythm sequences and gameplay, hides a strategy game that can grab you for hours. It shows that there’s always room for creativity in videogames. Just for that, it deserves your full attention. [Feb 2008]

The changes are in the most part cosmetic, but whether you like them or not, Advance Wars: Dark Conflict is still an extremely well balanced and addictive turn-based strategy game, rewarding strategic thinking and tactical forethought. [March 2008]

As fun and addictive as the previous ones, although the increased difficulty might be a little intimidating to anyone who intends to join the Guitar Hero cult at this later stage. But the new Les Paul guitars, the co-op career and the fabulous track list form, once again, an incredible experience. [Dec 2007]

Soul Calibur IV it is still one of the best of its genre, but we can’t help to feel the absence of strong innovations. The online multiplayer is the lasting appeal lifesaver. [Sept 2008]

A great sequel and a great action game for the PSP. Even though there aren’t a lot of new ideas, most of them are very well implemented. This second game on the PSP consummates the redemption of an old franchise and of Gabriel Logan as a lead character. [Dec 2007]

A pleasant surprise, Boom Blox helps understanding the need of more interactive experiences, in a game that’s a serious candidate to the title of best Puzzle for Wii. At times it can be too easy, but it well-deserves the quality stamp form EA. [June 2008]

Much more than a simple conversion to consoles, Revolution is a Civ experience built and tailored specially for these machines. And it really shows. It’s, in nature, a very addictive experience and the gameplay really suits the different console controllers. [Aug 2008]

A new incursion of the Battlefield franchise on the console turf that manages to surprise us, mainly because of the consistent solo campaign. Even if it doesn’t offer the same intensity and cinematic flair as Call of Duty 4 (although it has an excellent destruction engine). And, of course, as far as online is concerned, Bad Company doesn’t disappoint. [July 2008]

The combat system is still brilliant, Nero proves to be a good character and visually it’s pretty impressive. But we can’t help feeling a little disappointed. It’s still a great action game, but has the same flaws of every other title of the series. [Feb 2008]

The combats are great but it’s not an easy experience because it requires a huge dedication from the player to level up his party and to manage inventory and skills. [Nov 2007]

The least you can say is that this is a unique title with some genius moments. But the open world sections do more harm than good and the levels leading up to the assassins seem to lack some inspiration. But it’s still a unique experience that all Wii players should consider. [March 2008]

Bangai-O Spirits is one of those bizarre but extremely addictive games that we can always expect from Treasure. The difficulty can sometimes be exasperating, but behind this shoot’em up, that contains a whole lot of genres, there is a unique game for DS. [Oct 2008]

With many details about the FF VII group being revealed, the huge amount of cinematics transform Crisis Core in a kind of interactive movie, thus constraining the exploration and combat phases. It could be perfect, but it keeps itself as “just” an excellent game. [June 2008]

Dragon Sword is possibly the most visceral game in the Nintendo portable console. The story mode feels a bit short, but the combat system is very addictive and perfectly fitted to the DS potential. [June 2008]

With great graphics, great sense of speed, a well balanced gameplay and a more than adequate soundtrack, can we say that Pulse is almost technically flawless? Probably, but only because “lack of innovation” isn’t considered to be a technical attribute. [Nov 2007]

When it comes to tactical shooters, it’s hard to find anything better than this. While the previous title already offered brilliant gameplay, Vegas 2 still manages to introduce some minor touches that make it even better. But although it’s a great multiplayer experience it still doesn’t manage to deliver the definite co-op formula. [Apr 2008]

Viva Piñata is a very peculiar game, hardly attractive to the casual player. Even so, it’s charm and the way it reveals the game’s complexity seduces the players looking for something different. A few game modes ease this sequel for the younger players, the game’s main target. [Oct 2008]

Above all, it’s well worth just for its incredible atmosphere of pure tension, with the help of the technical side of things that work “for” the game instead of enslaving it. The first person action has an even more physical approach than in the original game and delivers a more “personal” experience. [Apr 2008]

Still terribly fun with its competitive online modes and a great use of the Wii Wheel. And at the end of the day, it presents the traditional polished and shiny look of all of Nintendo’s big guns that we simply love. [May 2008]

We live in a complicated age for all sandbox games, after "GTA IV". Saints Row 2 is a victim of that comparison, because while it has some elements that are better than the Rockstar game, it can’t satisfy in the technical aspect. In fact, it has some huge technical issues, which not even the co-op, the good customization tools or the mindless fun allow to be overlooked. [Oct 2008]

While retaining the relaxed and accessible attitude of the franchise, it proves to be a great alternative for those who don’t like the seriousness of Tiger Woods. And if you take in consideration the type of strokes, certainly appreciated by the golf purists, and the online inclusion, it’s easy to understand that this title will be able to garner even more fans. It has all the ambitions and potential worthy of a true next-gen title, from its visuals to the freedom it offers to the player, although it falls victim of its own limitations. But this title still has the flavour of something quite innovative. [Dec 2007]
