With its endearing characters and effective humor, Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the pleasant surprises of the end of the year, which is obviously aimed at a very large audience. Behind this careful writing, we feel a deep love on the part of the developers of Eidos Montreal for its marginalized space. And if the adventure is not as epic as we hoped, the journey is nonetheless pleasant with its moments of complicity and the many choices offered which reinforce the player's involvement. A truly attractive journey, in particular thanks to an efficient and fluid combat system which nevertheless shows its limits at the end of the game and against the bosses. Finally, it is more on its visual part that the title can divide. If we find on the one hand original environments and neat character models, we also note the presence of less convincing facial animations in places and sometimes less fine landscapes. It is nonetheless a gripping adventure alongside the galaxy's greatest magnificent losers that has plenty to please MCU fans.

Players have been waiting a long time for a rework of the first Suikoden to immerse themselves in comfortable conditions. This is now possible thanks to this compilation entirely translated into French and equipped with several welcome features. The graphic and sound optimization in HD does not, however, prevent the title from still displaying certain shortcomings in terms of ergonomics, such as the sluggish management of the inventory or the absence of markers that could have guided us in the quest for the 108 (or rather 216) stars.

The Last Campfire teaches us that a flame can be rekindled and that we should not be let down by difficulties encountered throughout our lives. What a pity that the technique does not always follow… without these little clashes, The Last Campfire would come close to perfection in its category.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is the very definition of a remaster that does the job. Its high definition and availability on Nintendo Switch from January 16th allow the uninitiated to discover the Donkey Kong Country formula. Returns remains a very good game of the genre, demanding and accessible. However, it suffers from some flaws due to the fatal comparison with similar games released over the last fifteen years. We would therefore recommend it especially to those who have never tried it. For others, the banana is likely to have a very pronounced taste of déjà vu.

This Oddworld Collection will charm you with the presence of three great games that have marked the history of video games. However, it must be taken into account that it is aimed primarily at all fans of the franchise, aspiring collectors and all those who have missed out on this iconic series during all these years since this compilation is only available. in physical format is aptly named. It does not add anything more compared to the digital versions which can now be found at a lower cost on the Nintendo eShop, except that it avoids the downloading of games.

Hogwarts Legacy on Switch 2 is a pleasant surprise. Where one might have feared a cheap port, Avalanche Software delivers a careful, balanced, and faithful adaptation. Although technical limitations remain, the essentials are preserved: exploration, the universe, the magic, the immersion. Graphically less ambitious and locked to 30 fps, the game remains fluid, manageable, and above all, complete. Its main asset: native portability, without streaming, offering a magical experience anywhere, anytime. Fans of the saga will find it the ideal travel companion. Newcomers will appreciate a generous RPG, provided they are sensitive to the Harry Potter universe. For optimal visual quality, the next-gen versions are still preferred. But for a captivating adventure to take with you, this Switch 2 version is an excellent alternative.

With a second rolling start on PS5 and Xbox Series X, F1 22 has put some oil in its engine. A little more animation during the celebrations and on the track with the arrival of the safety car in the race, the addition of events with Supercars to drive and drops in FPS during less significant cutscenes than in 2021, the standing of the latest generation of consoles is finally respected. Codemasters has succeeded in making this new title a reference for multiplayer games with the adjustment to the new rules, the addition of sprint races and a new pit entry system. We will just grumble about the too superficial F1 Life space and the lack of inspiration on the content, but F1 22 is well worth it for new motorsport fans and multiplayer enthusiasts.
