God of War Ascension is a controversial subject. If fans will be disappointed because the game is less spectacular than God of War 3, newcomers will be seduced by Kratos who has always been close to perfection. SCEA Santa Monica Studio masters the main aspects of the game: graphics are beautiful, the final boss fight is huge and the voice acting is efficient. In fact, the problem is all people remember God of War 3 and were expecting the same show. This is not the case and we think that the game should be seen as a transitional period which allows a second team to develop God of War 4. We hope that.- JeuxActu

CyberConnect2 has listened to fans' feedback for Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3, and it was the right decision. The mistakes of Generations are behind now and we're offered a really good Story mode, even if you'll be only watching your screen most of the time. With a huge choice of characters and a still very efficient gameplay, Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 is obviously the very best episode.- JeuxActu

If you have a good look at it, you can see as many reasons to like this new SimCity as to hate it. The required connection offers plenty of possibilities but it is a pain in the ass to lonely mayors. The HUD is elegant and subtle but hides some curious flaws. Finition seems perfect, but several bugs will come to spoil your gaming experience. Anyway, SimCity will make you play again and again, and that's quite a good point.- JeuxActu

Crysis 3 follows the path of its predecessor. Visually stunning on consoles and absolutely gorgeous on powerful PCs, Crysis 3 is a true landmark. But despite its sexy outline, this FPS runs out of innovative gameplay and a proper scenario. To sum up, Crysis 3 is a beautiful hollow thing.- JeuxActu

Zandatsu is quite a good symbol for this Metal Gear Rising Revengeance : a development divided, fragmented but a game that is highly efficient. Very short indeed, you can see it suffered from this change of direction. Nevertheless, with such a turbulent life, Rising manages to give players a rare and intensive game experience. Definitely, it's an Enfant Terrible, a Son of Liberty.- JeuxActu

Aliens Colonial Marines is old-school, that's for sure. A little bit too much so, unfortunately. With three different developers and a several year delay, it was predictable... Graphs from 2005, AI from 1895 and poor story writing amount to a too-heavy burden. And you can't even compensate for that by being highly loyal to the movies. This game is just a waste - of time for the studios, of money for you.- JeuxActu

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 is, exactly as the first one was, a bad Dynasty Warriors-like, only saved by its background. Fortunately, this kind of game is disappearing. Obsolete graphics and game mechanics will make you feel very tired after only few hours playing. You'll get it only if you're a very tolerant fan for its high fidelity to the manga.- JeuxActu

The Cave is clearly the 2013 heir to mythic LucasArts point'n click games of the early 90's. The fun in the writing and the great balance of the puzzles will surely make you feel nostalgic if you're 30 or more. As simple as efficient, Double Fine's game could have done better technically and some players won't be patient enough to keep round tripping again and again. Others could well feel like playing Day of the Tentacle again.- JeuxActu

We expected a lot from Dead Space 3 and were not disappointed. The game keeps all its promises, with true moments of tension proving that Visceral Games hasn’t betrayed the Dead Space series. Horror is there, and we have never seen such violent Necromorphs. This perfect balance between action sequences and anguish is efficient, avoiding Dead Space 3 making the same mistake as Resident Evil 6. But we must be honest with the fans: if the next Dead Space has more action scenes, there will be reason to fear the worst. Since it’s not a perfect game, it’s important to highlight the poor cover system and the lack of boss fights. Although the deep weapon crafting system is likely to annoy the purists, Dead Space 3 remains a great experience you have to live.- JeuxActu

Ni No Kuni is not a bad game strictly speaking, but frightfully irritating. Beautiful, nearly an artistic piece, packed with enchanted moments, especially for a younger audience, the Level-5's game miss its target. With its unbalanced difficulty, Ni No Kuni can easily put children aside and its lack of thickness will bore adults. It's a shame.- JeuxActu

Stop worrying, this new Dante is one hell of a stylish demon killer. Ninja Theory has done a pretty wonderful job on the game's background to give a fresh start to this Capcom saga, thanks to a great work from their artists. But DmC clearly contains the old Devil May Cry DNA in its gameplay: nervous, brutal and brilliant. In spite of some approximations in the platform phases and some limits of the Unreal Engine, DmC is the perfect hybrid of new ideas and respect of the saga legacy.- JeuxActu

First original project from Yasumi Matsuno since Final Fantasy XII, Crimson Shroud fits perfectly with its universe. At the core of a world in decay, the story relates the adventure of a group of adventurers known as Chasers. They ought to bring back a special items, the Crimson Shroud, lost in a complex mess of corridors and dungeons. But their first task is to survive. Very dangerous enemies have to be beaten with an intelligent system of luck determined attacks : in order to receive bonuses the player can use dices. A great idea which give Crimson Shroud a lovely board game's aspect. Tough and challenging, Crimson Shroud is a new form of T-RPG who worth more than a simple glance.- JeuxActu

For their tenth birthday, Ratchet and Clank are not making an incredible come-back. And yet, despite the lack of humor and graphics that are getting old, Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault remains entertaining enough thanks to its interesting gameplay mechanics and its well-balanced difficulty. Multiplayer mode won't occupy players for the next ten years, but it will surely please them.- JeuxActu

Wonderbook is one of the greatest Augmented Reality device of its generation. Creating immersion like you've never experienced before and using cleverly the PS Move, Book of Spells will entertain young players that love Harry Potter's adventures. However, quickly the gameplay shows its limits and appears to be too simple to amaze us more than an afternoon. But, we're still looking forward to the future Wonderbook title!- JeuxActu

Batman Arkham City: Armored Edition is pretty much similar to Arkham Asylum. Less focused on the story, Rocksteady's game sticks to the usual codes linked to the famous Dark Knight, flying from crime scene to crime scene across Gotham City. A great liberty of action that offers diversified gameplay sequences. However, the Wii U version suffers from freezing problems and the new gameplay mechanics introduced by the GamePad are mostly anecdotal.- JeuxActu

Sports Connection is the kind of game you won't find pleasure playing with. The different sports available are clearly unexciting, the game never fully use the GamePad, and the graphics are poor. The Wii MotionPlus requirement won't help either. A game to avoid purchasing.- JeuxActu

Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion is visually a great sequel to the famous Castle of Illusion, with its beautiful 2D graphics and its great references to the Disney universe. However, in terms of gameplay, the title is not as good as its big brother. Being forced to jump between the use of the touch pen and the usual game controls is not intuitive and won't make you enjoy this short experience that lasts four hours.- JeuxActu

With Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U, Katsuhiro Harada proposes a good sequel to the successful fighting game released on PS2. The gameplay mechanics are still intuitive but leave room for improvement. And yet, the use of the GamePad won't revolutionize the gameplay. Thanks to the Tag Crash and the Tag Assault attacks, the fighting sequences are now mostly well-balanced. Moreover, with tons of playable characters, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U is a clearly the kind of title that a lot of players will enjoy. As regards the introduction of the new Mushroom and Tekken Ball Battle modes, it's not really significant.- JeuxActu

Rabbids Land is clearly the title that has been developed too quickly, with not enough resources to do justice to the Wii U. With its long animations and some mini-games that should have been more explored, Ubisoft's title lacks the interesting ideas that made the IP so successful in the past. A shame when you know the Rabbids universe could easily make you smile with their crazy jokes.- JeuxActu

Paper Mario Sticker Star is a pleasant surprise with its great visuals and its great sense of humor that players will certainly enjoy. Thanks to improved environment interactions, introduced by the use of stickers, the game is fun to play despite some RPG and platform elements not so interesting. Too easy, Paper Mario Sticker Star lacks a good enough story to be fully entertaining.- JeuxActu

FIFA 13 Wii U is not really FIFA 13. When you think twice, this episode is closer to FIFA 12 which is not a pleasant idea to convey for the future of Nintendo's new console. Many features have simply disappeared and the gameplay options proposed by the use of GamePad are not so groundbreaking.- JeuxActu

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale won't dethrone the Super Smash Bros. IP, but finally offers a great alternative, especially players looking for some crossover fighting games. The title proposes some good ideas such as its battle system mainly focused on combos. However, the fighting sequences lack the necessary dynamism.- JeuxActu

The Wii U version of Darksiders 2 won't revolutionize the way players were usually playing. Having the entire HUD on the GamePad is pleasant but the navigation is not as good as it should be. Moreover, the different moves that need to be done with the motion controls are not really intuitive. And yet, despite these few minor problems, Darksiders 2 is still fun to play, especially with the new "remote play" function brought by the Wii U version.- JeuxActu

If there are no big changes in the way Traveller's Tales develop their games, LEGO The Lord of the Rings remains a great adventure game that offers enough innovations such as its new cinematographic approach or a new open-world, the Middle-Earth, that proposes lots of side quests, to entertain players for hours. Hopefully, the use of unofficial voices, less humor and the repetitiveness of some action sequences won't weaken the game experience.- JeuxActu

Some games gather the players together. Some divide them. Obviously, ZombiU belongs to second category. On the one hand, Ubisoft did very well to use the Wii U Gamepad and asymmetric gameplay brings something new to the multiplayer experience. But, on the other hand, ZombiU isn't visually impressive and some players won't appreciate the difficulty level that sometimes has been pushed too high.- JeuxActu

In the beautiful world of Mario Kart's clones, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is a surprising copy. In spite of an awful first episode, SEGA's new title manages to be efficient in many ways, gameplay related especially. Lovely, with a good sense of speed, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed get in the exclusive club of good and fun racing games. So, it's a shame that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed lacks originality.- JeuxActu

Taking the best elements that made the two previous titles so successful, correcting some of their mistakes too, Far Cry 3 is clearly the blockbuster we were waiting for. Visually and artistically, the open-world is simply amazing. The different missions the main campaign consists of are all interesting as well, and the co-op aspects that are well-introduced. The multiplayer mode will entertain players for hours thanks to ingenious gameplay ideas.- JeuxActu

As a clever mix of the universe of LittleBigPlanet and the interesting gameplay of Modnation Racers, LittleBigPlanet Karting had pretty good bases to offer amazing races we can usually find in the Mario Kart IP. However, the lack of dynamism, especially in solo, makes the game a little bit less attractive. Hopefully, the multiplayer mode, with its community-based gameplay, offers enough challenges to spend a great time with friends, but not enough innovations to be one of a kind.- JeuxActu

The deadliest bald man in the videogame universe is back in a new episode which strikes hard. Hitman Absolution doesn't revolutionize the roots of the series' concept, but it manages to rejuvenate the method. Beautiful and clearly cinematic, Io Interactive's game gives to the player a great amount of freedom despite some A.I flaws. Thanks to its impressive lifespan and its entertaining multiplayer mode, Hitman Absolution is a member of the end-of-year greatest games.- JeuxActu
