The Prince returns, and does so with a fresh new style, a phenomenal game world, and in stunning visual detail. The addition of Elika is a nice touch, but takes away some of the initial challenge in the game. The fact that you can’t die is a real shame, but the choreographical fighting mechanics keep the gameplay interesting and fun, and turn Prince of Persia into a small masterpiece.

Mushroom Men The Spore Wars is a fun Wii-game. It offers a good adventure-experience, with a interesting story-line a lot of stuff to explore, puzzles, mini-games and a lot of jumping.

GTA IV delivers on the PC, as it did on the next-gen consoles. The game breathes quality from start to finish. The story remains interesting and entertaining, visually it’s a new milestone in the series, and the gameplay just as good as it was on the console. The added video-editor and extended multiplayer-modes make for an even more complete experience, which no PC-gamer should be allowed to miss.

As a devote Chrono Trigger fan myself I have to admit that Chrono Trigger DS could have used some more improvements than just some touchscreen controls, an extra dungeon and a monster battle system. Still, this remains one of the best games ever made, and newcomers to the game should definitely pick it up right away. The way the compelling story, interesting characters, inspiring music and great gameplay are combined into one game, is something that RPGs to date haven't easily surpassed.

Mythologies is not a great expansion on the The Age of Empire-series. There might be a story involved with the game, but we didn’t really think it was worth mentioning. The name of the game could have easily been Age of Empires: Mariothologies, you wouldn’t know the difference story wise. When this doesn’t bother you, you’ll find a game you can play for many hours.

Square Enix games were once a guarantee for good RPG’s, but those times are gone. The Last Remnant fails miserably in almost every way, and is highly unpolished. The game has its strong points, like the profound battle system and a lengthy campaign, but the story, visuals and surrounding game world are one big letdown. The Last Remnant is yet another Japanese RPG that doesn’t live up to its initial expectations.

The Sonic-team has succeeded in developing an improvement upon the last Sonic-game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Even then, Sonic Unleashed is a flawed game. The Hedgehog-levels are fast and fun, while the Werehog-levels offer a bit of a change to the classic Sonic-gameplay, although, unfortunately, it often comes down to mindless button bashing. Unleashed shows that Sonic isn’t dead and buried yet, but still leaves a lot to be desired.

Long time Tomb Raider players will definitely enjoy Underworld, but it has both its minor and major flaws. The frustrating camera, the sometimes outdated gameplay, and the short main storyline make for a less-then-perfect experience. Thus, Underworld doesn’t live up to its expectations, but is absolutely worth a try.

Lips isn’t the SingStar-killer it could have been. The game offers some original and new gameplay-options, which are fun to some degree, but ultimately lacks the polish to make it a worthy competitor for its equivalent on the PlayStation 3. People who have never played SingStar and are looking to add some spice to an otherwise boring party, are sure to have fun with Lips though. The microphones are wireless, contain a motion sensor, and look way more flashy than their PlayStation-counterparts. Thus, Lips seems like a decent step-up for more karaoke-gameplay on the Xbox 360 in the future.

Metal Slug 7 is an addictive game, despite the absence of a co-op mode, the lack of variation in playable characters, and the recycling of different elements from earlier installments in the series. The old school gameplay is a blast though, the visuals have nostalgia written all over it, and the Combat Room is a nice addition.

I really enjoyed playing Left 4 Dead, and will continue to do so for many more hours. My only complaint is the slight lack of content and different gaming modes. The AI controller guarantees a certain level of variation in gameplay, but the playable levels and types of enemies remain the same. Content wise the game would score an 8, but Left 4 Dead packs enough fun to raise that score half a point.

From a technological perspective, Undercover is a humiliating installment in the Need for Speed-series. The frame rate stutters, the open world is dead, and the story is laughable. Even then, Undercover offers some of the same over-the-top racing fun we have gotten used to, and the game will surely get your adrenaline pumping when getting behind the wheel of some of the hottest cars in the world.

You’re in the Movies is largely a technological failure, making the game impossible to play at times. It’s fun to participate in the different minigames for a while, but the only reward is a minute-long trailer that is way too short to include enough images from the efforts everyone’s made during playing.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is a decent arcade fighting game, but has its flaws. The limited content and fighter line-up adds up to the absence of gore and violence, which is really a shame. The game still retains the Mortal Kombat-feel though, and the cast of DC-heroes is a nice bonus. The one-on-one multiplayer-rounds are fun enough for fans to consider purchasing Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.

Let’s Go to the City recycles so much from earlier games in the series, it’s hardly worth calling it a new game. This shouldn’t be a problem for first time-players, but fans of the Animal Crossing-series can easily pop in their old disc for a flashback to 2004. The only thing they’ll miss is the addition of Wii Speak, which even comes at a price.

Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades packs a very strong line-up of both modern and classic rock bands and artists, and the possibility of exchanging songs with every other Guitar Hero-fan is great addition. The Guitar Grip is still far from perfect though, and the poor sound quality when playing without earphones hasn’t improved one bit, explaining the lower score of Decades compared to its predecessor.

Despite the length of the adventure, Mirror’s Edge offers an experience you will not forget any time soon. Every time you put away the controller and turn off the console, you’re left wanting more. Everything, from the bright visuals to the fast-paced action, justifies the high score.

This game doesn’t only have a ridiculous long title, its gameplay is also quite ridiculous. Despite some decent visuals and audio, the game just isn’t fun to play. That’s caused by the inaccurate registration of the player’s movements, while the essence of the gameplay lies exactly there. Thus, Lightsaber Duels is a missed opportunity, and probably only appreciated by the young and inexperienced players among us.

Konami might stand at the berth of the music genre with games like Beatmania, DDR and Guitar Freaks, but Rock Revolution fails in almost all the aspects that make the Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises so good. It just doesn’t play as well, has fewer options and the soundtrack is mediocre at best. This game just doesn’t cut it with the franchises it desperately tries to be.

World at War is actually Call of Duty 4 in disguise. Not every change is an improvement, but fans of Modern Warfare will probably enjoy its follow-up just as much, given that they aren’t tired of World War 2 by now. The multiplayer remains addictive, and the online co-op mode is an awesome addition, and together they make this one of the surprises of 2008.

Shadows of Almia is a bit of a useless game in the Pokémon-series. It’s like the fat girl in class with whom you’re not comfortable talking to, unless it’s only once in a while. The developers clearly need to start putting some effort in their future Pokémon-products, because that’s what the fans deserve.

Ubisoft has succeeded in creating the ultimate Naruto-game. The Broken Bond builds upon the foundation of the first game, and retains the open world and strong audiovisual presentation. Story wise the game is both more intense and lengthy then its predecessor, making The Broken Bond the best Naruto-game to date.
