A pleasant little distraction to while away some time. Worth a look if you like the idea of peaceful city building, if you don’t mind not having a grand finale to work towards.

Overall… if you are interested in the idea of boxercise but can’t afford a gym membership or are perhaps a bit self conscious, I think this would be a fantastic option.

In conclusion, Mirror's Edge is a thoroughly enjoyable title that is one of the most unique games of the year as you run and fight your way through a futuristic utopia that contains good gameplay, amazing graphics and a storyline to match.

I have no hesitation in recommending this to any Sniper Elite fan… or really anyone who enjoys the sniping aspect of FPS games. To be honest… even if you don’t… you can technically play this as a run and gun as well… it may be more challenging but you’ve got your pistol and machine gun options… so tackle it how you want. There’s so much fun to be had here that I can really only scratch the surface. I will leave this by saying, find the highest point, check your surrounds with your binoculars and take aim for fun.

Over all, quirks and all, I really like Police Simulator: Patrol Officers… it does play like the lawful side of Grand Theft Auto and that’s a refreshing change! Grab it so you can shout “I am the law!”

In conclusion, Resident Evil 5 may have slightly moved away from the original premise of the game but it’s good to see the developers try a different path for this series.

Young, old, pro-gamer and JRPG newcomer alike should check out Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, it’s my favourite game of the year so far and I have a hard time believing it will be topped by December.

Brutal combat, irreverent humour, and a smorgasbord of content make Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut one of the best launch titles on the Switch 2, and also the best way to play one of the best entries in the long-running series. If you haven’t visited the weird and wonderful world of Yakuza before, and a need to play something on it other than Mario Kart World, you have no excuse.

As a whole, Bounty of Blood is well worth the time and cost because it really is an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this DLC and look forward to what else Gearbox has up their sleeves. It’s nice to see they were able to get this game back on course after putting ourselves through that painful main campaign.

Street Fighter 6: Years 1-2 Fighter’s Edition provides gamers with a very sturdy fighting experience on this new console from Nintendo. It does suffer from a couple of graphical stumbles, and Joy-Con mini-games are more filler than content, but it’s nice that Capcom has provided a great way to showcase the capabilities of this console with their hit game.

With this Definitive Edition, players can now play all three Mafia games together giving the player many hours inside the world these teams created. I highly recommend this game to new and older players alike.

Octopath Traveler 0 is one of this year’s best RPGs in a banner year for the genre. It’s also weirdly not an adventure for the faint of heart as it’s one of its grimmest ( and I include the likes of Silent Hill f in that appraisal) and could do with a massive trigger warning at the opening. However, despite the dire circumstances our heroes often find themselves in, there’s still a lot of hope in Octopath Traveler 0. Its themes of community and people uniting to build a welcoming home for anyone who wants to live there are admirable. In a time where the rich and powerful are urging the rest of us to shut others out, it’s a message that’s needed more than ever.

Despite the fact that this is a remake I think there are enough new things in it to justify the purchase, and if you have never played Dead Space then boy oh boy you are in for a treat! I cannot wait to see if they remake the others in the series, though it might be argued that there really is no need, they did look magnificent when they came out and to be honest I was really impressed playing them as recently as I have.

Essentially, if you enjoyed RoboCop: Rogue City, then grab RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, as it’s essentially more of the same but with some tweaks here and there. If you haven’t played the original but you’d like to play a game in which you get to be RoboCop, either is fine, but certainly grab a copy, as it’s a lot of fun!

If you like a bit of spy action and political intrigue then for the price this is a pretty good option. If you want a long form game and something you can really dig your teeth into, it might not be quite your cup of tea.

Lumines Arise is a mesmerizing puzzle game that blends block-dropping gameplay with hypnotic music and stunning visuals. You manipulate colorful 2x2 blocks to form squares, syncing every move to a pulsing soundtrack while exploring dynamic, themed stages. With new mechanics like Burst, customizable playlists, and both single-player and multiplayer modes, it’s a deeply immersive experience that’s easy to pick up but hard to put down.

Frostpunk 2 is a fantastic sequel to the original game. The shift to a wider focus rather than staying at the macro level might not be to everyone’s tastes, but I rather enjoyed the push to bigger and more expansive lands.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is everything you could want from a sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. It isn’t a revolutionary new step forward for the series by any means, but it does an excellent job of building upon all the core concepts that made Ori and the Blind Forest so fantastic, whilst also adding enough new features to justify its title as a sequel, rather than an additional DLC expansion. If you haven’t played through Ori and the Blind Forest (you should), Ori and the Will of the Wisps is worth jumping into regardless, as it polishes the Ori formula to a shine and is an incredible experience in its own right.

South of Midnight is a powerful and charming adventure about the healing power of empathy. Its well-written and thoughtful narrative is backed up by a beautiful art style and a tactile sense of place that makes it impossible not to be drawn into its fantastical, though often harrowing, world. Though the combat isn’t quite as slick as it could be, especially compared to the tight platforming and level design that encourages exploration at almost every turn, it’s still well worth the price of admission, especially considering it will be on Game Pass at launch. The only baffling omission from the package is the lack of New Game+ to mop up the floofs and journal entries you’ll inevitably miss. What I’m trying to say is that I already want an excuse to play through South of Midnight again, and that’s probably the highest praise I can give it.

Although not quite on the same level as the previous games in the Uncharted series, Lost Legacy is still a very worth play with some new gaming mechanics added and truly impressive graphics. The only letdown of the game is that it does feel a little similar to the previous Uncharted games which is not a bad thing. Thankfully the protagonists are both interesting and fun, however Chloe is really the star of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and given her mysterious history, I wonder if we’ll see more of her?

This 3D fighter with all its detail manages to keep the game almost locked in at 60 frames per second which creates this true arcade experience in the comfort of your own home. With gameplay to die for, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a game that all fans of 3D fighters will love.
