It is in face a thinly veiled excuse to look at pictures of anime style characters in various states of dress/undress. If this is your thing then maybe it’s worth the price, otherwise perhaps at least wait to see if more features are added… especially a settings menu to turn the music off… because it will get annoying after a while.- Impulsegamer

For the price point, especially if you like gaming with friends, I’d say it’s a great option… if you’ve got kids and perhaps aren’t too sure about letting them loose with your expensive headset… this could be a great way to include them in your VR gaming without as much of a fear of breakages.- Impulsegamer

Daybreak is a mindless horde mode expansion to State of Decay 2 that will only appeal to players seeking more outlets for zombie slaughtering co-op madness. There’s a serious lack of exciting new content or variety offered here that fails to capitalise on the areas of the main game that work best and could use expansion – such as story content, more community management mechanics or new maps – and what we’re left with is a monotonous combat-focused distraction that misses the mark for true replayability as intended.- Impulsegamer

Overall it’s quite a bit of fun and the lure to unlock the next item or character is there… but it also ends up being very repetitive very quickly. It’s certainly great to leave in your gaming collection for when you want a quick fix of puzzling… but you may find that five minutes or so you figure you can spare, ends up stretching a bit longer as you chase the next goal. It’s worth a play… but I’m not sure it’s quite worth the price tag for what it offers.- Impulsegamer

All in all- my thoughts on Kill la Kill IF are a bit mixed. The game plays best in one-on-one matches, which is what you’ll be playing most of the time. Stick to versus mode and you’ll be fine, but playing through the Story Mode is required to unlock certain characters, and it is a little annoying to get through unless you play on the lowest difficulty. I doubt Kill la Kill IF will appeal to anyone who’s not already a fan of the series but there’s fun to be had here.- Impulsegamer

The overall price of Washington is arguably pretty high, but it can be had in bundle packs (which is probably the best way to go to add a few states). The forest machinery DLC is also a little pricey for what it adds… but having said that, it does feel nice having access to all the bells and whistles as you drive across the landscapes of America. Wait for a special or enjoy a bundle… either way a new state is always welcome.- Impulsegamer

While I would recommend both DLC expansions, Breaking Ground’ is the one that advanced players should get their hands on first. The robotic parts offer much more creative avenues for players to explore when looking to travel further into the depths of the solar system. The new parts now give birth to more complex space stations, allowing players to refuel their ships in space and create long range communication networks.- Impulsegamer

I remain a big fan of pinball and having access to many great tables in my home means I can just jump in and play at a moments notice and for as long as I want… it’s a great casual game (I must attempt to make a virtual pinball machine some day). For the price I’d say this is reasonable value, it’s only three tables… but you may well find yourself logging many hours on the tables as you strive to beat your previous score. Maybe wait for a sale if you aren’t a huge pinball fan… if you are a huge pinball fan and love the history of the games, then you may well be happy to pay the full price and just grab this ASAP.- Impulsegamer

There are some nice things about the game, the architecture and “set decoration” is quite lovely, the voice acting is fine (in a very child actor in a theatre production way). But I think the overall game lacks a bit of refinement. I don’t think the issues are insurmountable and may well be fixed with patches… but as it currently stands I just didn’t enjoy it. It’s not super expensive so if you just want to add more spell casting to your VR library, it is an option. I’d recommend waiting for a sale or until patches tweak the gameplay a bit. Otherwise, regrettably, I’d say perhaps give this one a miss.- Impulsegamer

But if you want to seriously try meditation and don’t know where to start, Soundself A Technodelic is a great chance to shut out the outside world and travel within. Slinger VR works on a few levels at least (no pun intended… well maybe a little). The first is the core game which is a progressively more challenging puzzle world with growing dangers as you move further through the worlds. But the second is just the fun of being able to fling yourself around a landscape and you really do get that web slinger feel (yet totally devoid of anything that might be deemed copyright infringing!). To top it all off, the price is pretty decent for what you get too. If you want a bit of grappling, swinging VR fun… I would recommend Slinger VR!- Impulsegamer

This DLC should have been, and would have been far better as part of the standard game, but it ultimately is a mediocre experience at best; it’s very distracting and at times incredibly frustrating, especially when you get ‘spammed’ by the exact same message 10+ times in a row from the same faction leader, each with a like/dislike ability regardless if answered. It is this reviewer’s preference that the bugs and undesirable behaviours in the main game be addressed as a preference to new DLC’s being released..- Impulsegamer

Ultimately, I love the Civilization franchise, I love what this new DLC can offer… but I hate the way games are broken up and sold as parts to make more money. I wouldn’t be too comfortable paying the price for two new civilizations, especially knowing that there was more content in that purchase that I couldn’t use unless I also paid for another DLC. If you are a die hard fan… you are likely to get this (maybe wait for a sale or get it in a pack)… but otherwise you have to ask yourself if you are really going to get enough out of playing through the game with a couple of new civilizations to justify the price tag.- Impulsegamer

As it is, Maneater is still a fairly fun game if roleplaying as an aquatic killing machine is your thing, FPS dips and all… I just wish that my brain would stop playing that damn Nelly Furtado song of the same name over and over every time I settle in for a quick sharky session, especially as the OTHER “Maneater” song by Hall & Oates is a much better fit contextually.- Impulsegamer

Do I recommend the game… not really. There will be players who really get into the movement mechanics and visual approach, but for me, as much as I love the Space aesthetic, I find VR games that take me out of the first person view to seem counter intuitive (I play VR to be more immersed in my character… taking me outside the physicality of that character just seems to be the opposite of that goal). I also appreciate what was being attempted with the controls but the lack of easing players into using them doesn’t do the game any favours (though once you figure them out, the working with 360 degree movement and momentum etc is pretty cool).- Impulsegamer

I want to stress this point: Effie is not a bad game. Strong platforming and charming world and characters make this a valid option for those looking for a bite size 3D platformer…if you are playing on PC or PlayStation. Once I accepted the fact this port was flawed, I was able to see through the bevy of technical issues to a solid core and enjoyed my adventure. However, in its current state, I simply cannot recommend playing Effie on Switch; its technical issues are too grave and crippling to make it a rewarding and non-frustrating experience. Hopefully these issues will be remedied, but at this moment, Galand couldn’t do that.- Impulsegamer

Ultimately the game is one I think best used as a time filler or a some time indulgence. You don’t need to memorise story elements or spend a long time remembering what the key combinations are… just drive and see how many times you can make your car spin in… well pretty much any and all directions. Not a lot of depth but I don’t think it ever really tried to be more than what it is… just a bit of silly fun. I’d probably wait for a sale but it’s not a bad price for something that can sit on your hard drive and provide a bit of fun when you’ve got nothing else to do.- Impulsegamer

Life is Strange: True Colors, appears to be a game that is designed in all respects, for a subset minority of gamers, where goals of inclusivity have the undue effect of weakening the experience and demonstrating a lack of respect for the audience’s intelligence. Little Friends: Puppy Island certainly has lots of adorable dogs to care for, but sadly spends way too much of its playtime having the player repetitively walk them through boring and visually unappealing areas.- Impulsegamer

Under the Waves on the XSX is a very unique and emotional experience that may not be for everyone, especially if you have just lost a friend or loved one. While the game will only be played once due to the content, it is quite a unique and memorable title that successfully addresses how grief is handled with the backdrop of a very component game set deep under the sea. All in all, the developers should be commended on this beautiful game that really sets itself from other titles at the moment on this next-gen console. Beautifully moving and haunting.- Impulsegamer

The Crackpet Show is a fun game with unique ideas. It is a great choice if you want to take a break from serious games, whether you play solo or with friends. It has a charming comedy to it, and the world of the game matches the gameplay mechanics perfectly. While the game lacks enough charm to get you to play it for countless hours and the aesthetic design of levels could be better, it is still a good experience.- Impulsegamer

A fun new game, three middling ones, and a fan favourite returns. It's not the life of the party, but we're glad to have it all the same.- Impulsegamer

Down and Out does a superb job of showing what life as a homeless person is like. It's a miserable, depressing existence you wouldn't want to inflict on your worst enemy, much like this brawler.- Impulsegamer

Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is definitely a story-heavy game. My favorite parts were the eeriness of the storyline, the dialogue (and acting) of all the characters (especially the narrator), and the twist at the end. I would have preferred more jump scares and the ability to skip through some dialogue (that was a bit slow), but overall it was an enjoyable game to play.- Impulsegamer

If you like the idea of karaoke at home, if you want to sing solo or with friends… Let’s Sing 2024 has you covered. I’m not sure of technical limitations but it would be nice to actually have some singing lessons in future editions… but for now it’s a good option for some singing parties at home!- Impulsegamer

Bang on Balls: Chronicles is a fun game that should provide you with hours of laughter. Playing solo I managed to knock it over fairly promptly, but I think if you were a completionist it would take substantially longer. Give it a shot, you may be surprised just how much you enjoy Bang on Balls: Chronicles.- Impulsegamer

The greatest compliment I can give a videogame is that it moved its genre forward. To me, Astral Ascent did just that. Where it lacked in storytelling, Astral Ascent’s robust combat system and uniquely deep character progression created an addicting gaming experience that can be played with endless enjoyment. While I fought so hard to eventually escape the Astral prison, I will gladly be back to do it all over again soon.- Impulsegamer

Extremely Powerful Capybaras doesn’t take itself too seriously and is a fun entry into the genre. While it doesn’t quite have the addictive ‘just one more run’ quality to it that other similar games have, possibly down to the unremarkable audio, it’s far from a bad game, and will continue to live on my Steam Deck for a while yet.- Impulsegamer

Disney could have easily created a cash-in with half the attention to detail and called it quits, but Dreamlight Valley is absolutely jam-packed with cosy, heartwarming interactions, a great gameplay loop and a ton of character. The best thing about it all? The only thing holding you back is your imagine (and maybe one or two fetch quests).- Impulsegamer

The controls are fairly simple, and the experience is a good challenge, which will require you to engage. You never lose your progress (as there is no absolute death), and when you lose (or flee) combat, you can return to your latest home point. It is challenging but not punishing, which provides a balance which suits the overall style of mystery. I like the unique experience that Tenderfoot Tactics offers the player. The dreamy, eerie, and etheric world is well formed and encourages a dream like meander through the space. The enchanting visuals are the hero of the game which makes the world well worth the exploration.- Impulsegamer
