Considering the premise and the presentation, I sincerely expected more from Thora's Odyssey: the atmosphere might be there, the overall style might be fascinating and some ideas might be interesting, but that is not enough to truly impress the gods when the core gameplay is a bit lacking and never fully satisfying.

A good hunting game, deserving of being put up there with Monster Hunter. Too Bad it seems to shy away from the seriousness of its own dark setting by putting on the front unrealistic and unlikable characters.

Mother Russia Bleeds is full of drugs and flaws. Its art direction is over the top, but there are frustrating sections that ultimately break the flow.

RedOut is fast and is furious. Its tight controls and spectacular tracks make it one of the best futuristic racing game out there.

Champions of Anteria is a good example of how to combine management phases and action-RPG sections without altering either of the two.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a clever game, full of personality and with a great control scheme. But playing online without the voice chat is a real bore.

It lacks some features that where present in the old Master of Orion II, and many of the bold ideas Stellaris and Endless Legend introduced to the genre. A playable, fun game, with great production value, but not a game that will stand the test of time.

A.O.E. Wings of Freedom is a game exclusively made for fans. However, the gameplay is too weak to lift the fortunes of the product. Good enough for fans: the others would not have reason to postpone the production limits.

Deus Ex Go begins to show some wrinkles in Go series settings, but nevertheless it remains a good mix of puzzles, challenging strategy and elegant cyber atmosphere.

Faithful to the Worms tradition, the new Team 17 title, with its bizarre new weapons and vehicles, manages to be a fun experience even if the crafting mechanics aren't the most user friendly out there.

While offering only discrete graphics and gameplay still to be refined, The King of Fighters XIV is an excellent starting point for the rebirth of the brand. Content-rich, affordable and fun, the last SNK title is still far from its former glory, but the basis laid are so solid to ensure more than a hope for the future of the series.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided doesn’t betray its heritage: it improves on several aspects of the previous chapter in the saga and provides a high quality experience along the whole adventure. However, some of the characters in the game are not as deep as in the previous game, and the underlying menace could be pushed a little more. Overall, one of the best games published in 2016.

A mesmerizing audiovisual triumph that will feel heavenly to your eyes and to your ears, unfortunately without warming your heart as much as you would expect. It probably won't leave you teary-eyed like Journey did, but it will still be a trip absolutely worth embarking on.

A game that tries too hard to be what it's not. A roguelike game trying to be a soulslike. Losing its identity, the result is simply a missed shot, nor good or bad enough to be worth remembering.
