It has an amazing soundtrack, decent enough story and a pretty compelling fight engine. Some novices may find the experience daunting at first but with a little perseverence they'll also find the experience ultimately rewarding.

The soundtrack is catchy and at times, especially when the plot turns darker, extremely haunting as well.

It’s a shame the game isn’t more interactive though, on the few occasions you meet other people there is very little interaction, one is just an eyeball through a keyhole.

The multiplayer gameplay alone makes this a sports title worth owning.

This is certainly the best you've ever had if you only own a Cube, and whilst not an excuse for others to rush out and buy one I think it does stack up quite well against better-known efforts in the genre.

And even though the characters in Astro Boy: Omega Factor come and go so fast it's still hard to ignore just how beautiful Osamu Tezuka's creations really are.

This feels entirely more suited to a Mission Impossible branding than the men of string and wood, and unless you have some very enthusiastic fans amongst the small folk it's one to avoid.

Black Arrow is extremely hard to knock even if you own the previous RS3 version, and with the Xbox Live 3.00 clan functions it soon becomes a compulsory purchase.

Occasionally though a title comes around that contains a graphic engine and audio design so revolutionary it shakes you from the ground up and refuses to let go until every last drop of the story is told. Play Doom.

There is not much here to hold an adult for long, but be warned this game takes up a hell of a lot of space on your hard drive its over 1GB installed and over 50% of this is game textures which is a little bit much when you see the graphics.

I like my straightforward Eastern swordplay as much as the next player, but just like my beat em ups, or FPS’s, I like at least a little bit of variety, especially given the vast array of options on the shelves and there really isn’t enough in Bujingai to elevate it out of the very, very ordinary.

The fixed camera problem is actually so bad at times that you could spend a considerable amount of time working your way to a top of a building only to plummet back down to earth again.

Not only do you have a game that you can play with friends, but one that can be played solo with goals that make the game last a long time.

With a few mates around the house Athens 2004 is still a fantastic multiplayer title.

For what it is, it's the best in it's field, however this will divide gamers between those who love the frantic action, and those who just see the repetitive slice and dice – me? well I like it like my Japanese food – now and again and in small portions.

Its control complexity, I’m sure, would appeal to those players who could give it the time to master and I’m also sure they would be rewarded with the effort. But unless you fall into this group you may find Starshatter quite difficult with a steep learning curve.

There is nothing that really stands out and grips you by the throat even though it tries's very hard to. Couple the bad sound effects with an average game and a £30 price tag and I would say put down the box and pick up the copy of "Doom 3" if you havent already.

A very good RTS, you get to play missions with only a few troops and struggle against overwhelming odds and normally under equipped. This adds something to the title and makes this a title you can really sink your teeth into and spend hours trying to get your troops through each mission alive.

I like having the option of pairing up thirty years of blood and sweatsocks, and there’s nothing really at fault with anything, it’s just unfortunate that their very accurate rendition of Seventies wrestling compares unfavourably with what Kurt Angle and colleagues are doing now on t.v and in the THQ games.

The graphics looked old, the sound effects where poor and driving round a track for 50 laps was mind numbing.

This is a very welcome diversion in what is becoming a hugely predictable current generation console range, and absolutely the sort of thing I can see everyone saying ‘can I have a go’ once they see it.

Falls short in one vital criteria. It’s a single player game. The prospect of a death match style arena with online support and 20 players tossing each other around with their powers of telekinesis would surely be great fun.

In the end a blatant rip off like this could only happen on a console or handheld. Imagine what would happen if this was released today on the PC for £15 in this state? There would be a riot.

Yes that's right, it's boring. A card based game lasting ten minutes is ideal for filling in during break time, mighty convenient whilst waiting for the bus to turn up, even a mild diversion from the stares of fellow passengers when on the bullet train, but just plain old dull when sitting in the house on your own at ten o'clock at night.

The only thing better than meat and potatoes is meat and meat (thank you Atkins), and that is exactly what this game does to gaming in 2004.

This is a game that you have to put a little time and effort into just to slip into Garret's mind and start to think like a Thief, if you can then you have found yourself a very challenging and rewarding game.

If Pinocchio said he loved this game, watch his nose grow and stay clear of the swamp.

Manages to blend a kids action game with a more mature turn based strategy game, but sadly fails to fit into either category or define a genre of its own.

The music is nothing special, and is noticeably looped during the game; a feature which I thought was safely banished to the days of the Amiga.

I just do not like these controls. It feels like you can do nothing via the weapon inventory system quickly, changing from an empty sidearm to a ready loaded one particularly slow given the fast paced environment you’re in.

Anyone new to the genre can certainly make this a choice without expecting to get in too deep and losing their way, while seasoned MMORPGers can have a blast playing out their superhero dreams.

One part that really sparkles however is the graphics; the Lineage world is one with a stunning backdrop, large, sparkling cities will surely take your breath away.

The map and radar are easy to read and use, and the environment nicely detailed. Combined with a soundtrack that still gives of a distinctly ocean going whiff, it adds up to quite a quality audio-visual effort, and puts this title into the upper echelons of the fleet.

Sacred sets out to be little more than you’re typical hack and slash feast but with gorgeous graphics and a storyline/sound effects to match, but why shouldn’t we all devour it anyway?

I just don’t think it’s worth the time, effort and above all expense of the Dot Hack series.

A fantastic game that is let down slightly by an ill-designed camera system and lack of a map feature.

Beyond Good & Evil is all solid, familiar adventure gaming territory, but it's all been wonderfully worked and beautifully presented so that it's an utter joy to play.

If ‘old school’ to you means the class of Eton 2003 then this is not your thing, if on the other hand you’re a graduate of the early nineties arcades then it’s a welcome return for some streetwise gaming.

An atmospheric, intelligent and original shooter that is sure to be harshly overlooked by the majority of gamers, which is a pity considering the quality gaming on show. It's enjoyable, challenging and exquisitely designed but is only let down by minor camera troubles and a difficulty level that may be a bit too hard.

If you want to know how it all pans out then please carry on, if not then you may find much more rewarding (and certainly cost effective) offerings. It’s a slightly missed opportunity for me, a good concept allowed to become a familiar rehash of existing gameplay.

Both complex, yet brilliantly simple, deep but immediately playable, and long-term habit forming whilst retaining the ability to kill you in seconds. It makes heroin look like sherbet dip.

If you ever fancied a dabble but were put off with what seemed like complicated rules give Majestic Chess a chance, its brilliant story mode will teach you the rules at a pace that’s right for you.

There are literally no flaws and everything is constructed and delivered with beauty and grace.

It just could easily have been so much more. If you like a stealthy action game with decent graphics and aren’t too bothered about playing online IGI2 might just keep you busy.

One of those classic games that could have only have come from Nintendo, and we loved every bit of it.

The main problem I have with coming out and labelling it a ‘kid’s game’ however, is not just the Spy vs Spy premise, but the sheer un-likeableness (if I can invent that word) of the two protagonists.

Despite the fact that people may find a level of fun has been lost under the layers of improvements and options, the majority will still find that nothing comes close to quenching that thirst for power that Football Manager so eloquently provides.
