The changes in Civilization VII aim to create a more versatile and customizable experiencie without sacrificing the core values of the franchise. It may seem less profound at first sight, but the experience is a deep and satisfying one.

Laika: Aged Through Blood builds a genre of its own, the motorvania, which successfully combines driving, exploration and combat. Supported by a memorable story and brilliant artistic section, the game is polished diamond, but with the sharp edges of its great difficulty.

Eternal Strands establishes itself as a daring opera prima whose result is as interesting as it is uneven. The potion achieved by bringing together Dragon Age, Zelda Breath of the Wild and Shadow of the Colossus manages to attract attention, although there are aspects that could have been developed further.

Tails of Iron 2 Whiskers of Winter is a good and fun sequel that offers enough to keep you loving the soulslike RPG universe created by the humble Odd Bug Studio. However, lacking the wow factor of the first instalment of the saga and with some little errors, this game could have used a little something new in terms of design.

Sniper Elite: Resistance is a solid, but very consistent, game. The series' shooter formula continues to perform well, but it's true that it needs a change of scenery and improvements to its mechanics. This game is recommended for new/older fans of the series, but not for those looking for changes.

Ender Magnolia takes everything that didn't quite work in its predecessor and improves it with great results, keeping the virtues intact. It's not as impressive anymore, but thanks to its unique approach to the metroidvania genre and its beautiful visual style, it manages to shine like a white maiden on a rainy night.

We love the ideas this game offers, but we feel like the final product is half baked. We need more interesting missions and the overall look and feel seems to be from the previous generation. It is entertaining, but don't expect much more than that.

The fact that Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is back is already great news, especially in terms of preservation, but thanks to the work of Aspyr what we have in our hands is the definitive version of the Jedi action game. And it may have aged poorly, but if you enjoyed it back in the day, you'll enjoy it just as much today.

While the content is the same as on PS5, Final Fantasy VII Remake on PC is a superior game in all technical aspects, as long as you have a computer capable of running it in Ultra. If that's your case, don't hesitate: it's one of the first must-haves of 2025 on PC. It's as simple as that.

The best possible version of Tales of Graces f Remastered comes with quality of life improvements and an adequate visual section, in addition to all the content of the original. It also maintains a story that leaves its mark, and a battle system within reach of very few JRPGs.

Blade Chimera has some good ideas and is a very solid metroidvania, one of those that grabs you and doesn't let go until you complete them 100%, but it doesn't particularly stand out within the genre. Even so, it is one of those kinds of games that are enjoyed to the fullest for as long as it lasts.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD remains a fabulous 2D platformer that retains and expands on the magic of Rare's games: if you haven't played it on Wii and you like the genre, you should, as it's the best version of it yet. But at the same time, as an HD update, it's hard to shake the feeling that it could have offered something more.

Dynasty Warriors Origins puts the musou genre back on the map, so that those who haven't given it a chance can finally decide to do so. Despite not revolutionizing the scene and ending up being somewhat repetitive, the narrative, gameplay and technical innovations of this installment make it worth returning to Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Freedom Wars Remastered is a good update to one of the PlayStation Vita's most interesting games. While there isn't much in the way of new content, this remaster is the best version of a game that deserved to be rescued and remembered on modern consoles and PC.

Batman Arkham Shadow brings the gameplay of Batman's previous adventures to virtual reality, and does so masterfully, culminating in a new story in which combat, investigation and stealth feel like never before in the series. Now you are Batman, and all you'll need is Bruce Wayne's money to believe it.

Marvel Rivals is an Overwatch copycat, but it manages to do its job well and manages to have enough of its own identity to deserve a chance. However, it still has a lot of room for improvement and lacks a little more originality in some of its proposals.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered is, quite simply, the perfect remaster: there are improvements on all fronts, it shows absolute respect for the source material and adds many extras that are invaluable. Don't be afraid and let these vampires enter your home.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the great adventure of the year, a game that breathes affection for the character and his classic films that we love so much. Prioritising the adventure, without abandoning the action is a great success, as well as not wanting to cover more than necessary.

Fitness Boxing 3 is a good addition for those who want to exercise with their console and add more routines, apart from going to the gym. It is more complete and varied than the previous installment, although it still has aspects that could be improved, starting with the lack of some options (variety of scenarios) or a tacky soundtrack full of MIDI covers.

With Fantasian: Neo Dimension, the father and the composer of Final Fantasy bring us a game that represents a return to the origins of the JRPG, but fails to live up to its own legend. It's a decent and entertaining adventure, with some interesting ideas, but it falls far short of the titans of the genre.

There's an unique charm in Flight Simulator 2024 that makes you come back over and over, even if you're not a fan of flying. It's a shame, though, that we find sooo many technical issues on the way, because everything else is as ambitious as laudable.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a unique experience within post-apocalyptic games. Unfortunately, everything falls apart due to a myriad of bugs and technical problems. Even among modern JRPGs, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is surprising for the great freedom it offers in terms of gameplay (even at the cost of sacrificing the narrative aspect).
