If you're after a different, more cerebral kind of dungeoneering experience, Desktop Dungeons: Rewind might just be the adventure you're looking for.

Even before playing on live servers I’m not afraid to say that Battlefield V’s multiplayer is great. That is simply undeniable. It’s impossible to not care about the result of each match, tense finishes seem to happen almost every other game and the moment to moment action is incredibly satisfying.

Cities: Skylines is a blast to play on Xbox One, but I wish they hadn’t left out the fast forward feature and also added the other expansion that are available on PC to this release.

Overall, the Switch port is almost everything I wanted in a new port. It runs and looks great almost all throughout and makes good use of the Switch hardware. I would’ve loved to see Capcom include some extras like trailers or galleries like the Mega Man ports. If you’ve never played these games before, you need to get them on Switch.

Get Packed is a brilliant couch co-op game, but if you're looking to play online, there's little to no chance at the moment. However, if you're looking to play with your household, you'll likely spend hours enjoying the frantic and funny gameplay.

A sublime blend of deck building and post-apocalyptic survival, Nowhere Prophet is tense, thoughtful, and incredibly satisfying.

Kingdom Eighties is a fantastic tribute to the 80s, offering satisfying base-building and plenty of nods to the movies of the time.

Zero Sievert is tough, but it offers a satisfying experience that teaches you upon every death, giving you a reason to keep playing.

Great God Grove had me hooked until the moment I had cracked the thing and brought peace and harmony to the Grove.

It's hardly an original setting or concept, but Company of Heroes 3 makes up for it with sheer charm and playability.

Like A Dragon: Ishin! doesn't reach the same heights as previous titles, but the new mechanics bring a different feel to the series.

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy is a lighthearted JRPG, with an incredibly compelling gameplay loop of crafting and leveling up.

There's a hell of a lot going on in Stellar Blade, but it remains a surprisingly elegant and exciting adventure throughout.

Project Diva f 2nd is fantastic. It’s harder and not quite as good as its predecessor, but it’s definitely very, very fun. It is hard to recommend the game to someone who doesn’t like J-pop and the idea of Divas, but I would recommend downloading the demo of Project Diva f and giving it a try. It’s toe-tappingly good and a hearty challenge, and quite often that’s all you really want in a music game.

A delightfully whimsical steampunk-RPG romp and you’d have to be malfunctioning to miss out on it.

A phenomenal multiplayer along with a larger, improved zombies mode mean that, although the solo campaign is a slight misstep, Black Ops is the best call of Duty on the current gen consoles.

Sifu is a difficult game, and not always by design. But when the combat clicks, there are few games that make you feel so badass.

Katamari Damacy REROLL is a fantastic experience for people who have never experienced the game before but it is a pretty barebones port on PC.

Etrian Odyssey Nexus is the perfect send off for the best DRPG franchise that honestly won't be the same without a dual screen system.

If you're looking for a smart turn-based strategy with plenty of ways to play, I'd certainly recommend playing this.

Lost Ark is fantastic, but like all MMOARPGs, it demands a massive time investment and a ton of extra reading to get the most from it.

Subnautica is not without its issues, but it successfully manages to combine a strong sense of exploration and discovery with an interesting story hook and an exceptional soundtrack to make it one of the very best examples of the genre.

God of War will never be Shakespeare, but it’s a bloody good time that doesn’t take the player for granted. Maybe that’s why it was remastered, after all, then: to remind us of what games can be, if we just let them take us on a journey. A daft, angry, bald journey, led by a screaming topless Adonis that lets us kill everything that moves. Fair play, Sony.

Accessible and incredibly deep, if you’re looking for a time-sink you won’t get much better than Dragon Quest VII.
