Voltaire the Vegan Vampire has some great genre bending ideas, but ultimately is too easy and rather repetitive.- God is a Geek

Tales of Symphonia Remastered is still a great action JRPG and an important one in establishing the now long-running series, but there are better ways to experience it than this.- God is a Geek

Online multiplayer would have made Super Toy Cars a lot more attractive but at least the track editor is solid, if a little confusing.- God is a Geek

Rogue Heroes: Ruins of Tasos is fun with friends, but control issues, irritating traps and a lack of fresh ideas make it hard to recommend for solo players.- God is a Geek

Red Solstice 2: Survivors is a decent game hindered by iffy AI, spiking difficulty, and a feeling of disconnect between player and game.- God is a Geek

In an era where first person shooters continually push the envelope in terms of genre tropes, visuals and mechanics, Disintegration is a few years late and a few dollars short.- God is a Geek

By all accounts Gloomhaven does a solid job of translating what's apparently a very deep and complex TTRPG to video game format.- God is a Geek

With its fun gameplay and interesting take on the online shooter genre, Crossout is a decent idea that sadly lacks depth.- God is a Geek

If you're a diehard fan of this kind of game then Arcadia: Colony is worth a look, just don’t expect a Metroid or Cave Story level experience.- God is a Geek

Navegante is clearly a talented studio, and have it in them to come up with something really special, but Greak Memories of Azur sadly falls short.- God is a Geek

Neither game really does anything wrong, but this remaster does nothing whatsoever to justify its existence, in some cases running worse than the originals.- God is a Geek

Ravenbound presents an intriguing world that simply doesn't live up to its potential. It's a decent enough adventure, but lacks the nuance needed to stand out.- God is a Geek

Being broken into two parts only serves to hurt Broken Sword 5. The game was clearly developed as a whole and then chopped up – meaning you are left with all of the exposition in Episode 1, and none of the pay-off.- God is a Geek

Shovel Knight: Showdown is a good idea that fans will enjoy in brief bursts. But the restrictive movement options prevent it from becoming a great example of the genre.- God is a Geek

An enjoyable Metroidvania with some significant issues. It's not easy to navigate and the combat is subpar, but the formation shifting and late game upgrades make it easier to keep turning the pages.- God is a Geek

One thing that is certain is that Natural Doctrine us not designed for the casual crowd, and unless you’re prepared to invest time and energy into learning its systems inside out – and then are still prepared to try and try again when you do know what you’re doing – you’d be advised to away from this one.- God is a Geek

Physics puzzling is the name of the game and for the hour or two that it lasts, Cubicity offers a pleasant workout for the mind that’s slightly frustrating, but full of enough eureka moments to make it worthwhile.- God is a Geek

99 Levels to Hell is a fine, if slightly trashy Spelunky-alike. If Spelunky is Indiana Jones, then 99 Levels to Hell is its Grindhouse equivalent, focusing more on fast, expendable entertainment than its more thoughtful cousin.- God is a Geek

While interesting iterative improvements can sometimes be greater than the sum of their parts, the in-game economy hampers much of the goodwill that may derive from elsewhere in the game. I shouldn't have to talk about money this much in a basketball game. But in this series, it's become unavoidable. NBA 2K24 feels like a game made by details-obsessed basketball experts unfortunately hamstrung by bottom-line-obsessed executives.- God is a Geek

The general presentation isn't anything special, the responsiveness isn't as tight as I'd hoped, and the music featured does nothing to make me feel motivated whilst training, however, there's still a solid fitness experience that'll appeal to a lot of people who need that extra push over the Christmas period.- God is a Geek
