Dust & Neon is an enjoyable twin-stick shooter with a cool cover mechanic set in a colourful world. But it’s held back by a strong sense of deja vu and a lack of fresh ideas.

Taskmaster VR has some smart ideas and the presentation is good, but the controls aren't as precise as they need to be given the crazy tasks.

The world is stunning, the bond between the boy and Trico is a beautiful example of love and friendship, and the story is gripping, it’s just a shame there are so many technical issues holding it back.

Sniper Elite V2 is not the worst Sniper Elite game (the first one is) but it’s also nowhere near as good as the actually impressive 3, 4, or Nazi Zombies, all of which I’m sure would play just fine on the Switch. There is certainly enjoyment to be had here, particularly if you go in dragging your expectations on a limp length of twine behind you, but otherwise you’re better off just playing the later games wherever you can.

A perfectly serviceable racer with great looks, plenty of customisation options, and passable driving, but it’s a real shame that latest reboot of this franchise had the hallmarks of the greats in the series’ past and could have been truly special.

Despite some issues with visuals and AI, MX vs ATV All Out Anniversary Edition is somehow still a lot of fun to play and brings back memories of Motocross Madness.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising has flashy combat and gorgeous visuals, but the repetitive gameplay loop really holds it back.

Volgarr the Viking II is a seriously retro and seriously difficult game, that just doesn't prepare the player enough for its punishment.

To The Rescue! is an adorable and heartfelt management game, that unfortunately loses its way after the first few hours.

We Were Here Forever is a fun, challenging co-op puzzler, but it's too long and has too many obtuse puzzles to easily recommend to everyone.

Although a decent stab at a social RTS, it's let down by harsh grinding requirements used to encourage microtransactions.

Despite some issues that will turn off many regular gamers, MXGP3 makes great use of the official licensing and will certainly please fans of the sport.

Touken Ranbu Warriors has some great new ideas for the genre, but its lack of any challenge really lets it down.

Maize is an amusing title, it's puzzles don't really require any critical thinking and it is overly linear but it kind of works as a curio with some genuinely funny jokes dotted throughout.

The clunky controls feel like they have been adapted from another purpose, and made my time with Underground more of a chore than a pleasure.

Miracle Cure doesn’t really break the mould in any way for the puzzler genre. It throws you a selection of levels and different modes, it gives you several different power-ups, but overall it frustrates and fails to excite.

By trying to be all things to all people Genesis Alpha One loses any sense of identity. There is some really interesting ideas at work, and cool aesthetic in one portion of the game, but other areas feel underdeveloped.

Potion Permit has a great concept, but ultimately some quest issues and the sheer amount of grind make it a bit of a drag.

If you can get past this issue (both in gameplay terms and the mental barrier it presents) then you should find that Light Fall is mostly a fun and interesting platformer, with some very cool puzzle elements and a story that you’ll want to see through to the end. Just don’t throw your Switch around in frustration. That thing’s expensive.
