Need for Speed: The Run is better than expected. It offers a great variety of different race modes, pretty cool videos and a lot of unlockable stuff. The autolog feature, which keeps players challenging each other, is for the first time included on 3DS, and the game offers some multiplayer possibilities.

It's a good strategy RPG with an immersive plot, but it's very complex, the difficulty is high and its tutorials are lengthy. There are better RPGs out now, though.

Grotesque Tactics takes the fantasy and role play genre on, it confronts it with lots of sarcasm and irony. The game is a blast in terms of humor with a certain wink. Just do not take the game too seriously and have fun.

James Bond 007: Bood Stone is a cool action game, especially for 007 fans. Unfortunate, the game is too linear as you haven't the possibility to explore alternative ways.

The Mystery Case Files series on PC is pretty cool and a really good choice for hidden object fans, but the genre's debut on home consoles somewhat disappoints: not enough mini games, a lacking atmosphere and the Wii's control possibilities largely untapped. Casual fans will want more hidden object games on the Nitendo Wii, but they must be better and cheaper.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars has mediocre graphics and sound effects, a shallow story and an empty multiplayer, but realistic aircraft models.

It's unique, but not perfect. Beginners will be frustrated very quickly, but fans of Rampage and the likes will just love the button-mashing-action. There are weaknesses in terms of handling and aiming, though.

Fighting, struggling, battling – it‘s nothing less than the Dynasty Warriors franchise you already know. No splitscreen, but online-multiplayer instead, you‘ve got your own upgradeable village with shops, but there‘s not more innovation than before.

The setting is great, the story makes sense and the feeling is pretty much arcade just like the old days. The Run is more like an interactive movie than a plain stupid racer, and it deserves props for that achievement.

Another disappointment for fans of the first four Silent Hill games. The controls during battle are unfair and dumb and the fact that you can only carry one weapon at a time is simply annoying. One of the few positive things is the rain-dynamic. The more it rains the more creatures prey upon you. The graphics are muddy and fall apart under technical issues like sudden freezing. The game looks less scary overall and reminds of Alan Wake. All things considered it is not Silent Hill anymore. There is no oppressive and dark atmosphere left.

If you are just looking for some tough online fights and like the Tekken characters, you can't go wrong. If you want a motivating singleplayer experience, however, consider a different beat'em up.

The Power of Two has great elements. The cutscenes are pretty and the Disney-feeling with the original voice actors is great. Sadly, Oswald is an annoying gameplay element and sometimes you can't find the next goal in the game. The Power of Two, unfortunately, isn't the great sequel we were waiting for. However it still brings some Disney fun.

White Knight Chronicles is an acceptable game. All components fit well into the gameplay and also the story keeps you going. Only the graphics are not up to date and could have been done better. Overall the White Knight persuades.

Painkiller: Hell & Damnation is a real old-school shooter, which is for friends of the classic Shoot, Run, Jump.

If you like games of the Silent Hill series, you will enjoy this game. If you are looking for a high grade horror-game, you should pick another product situated in the genre.

Mario Sports Mix had the opportunity to be a great sports games collection on the Nintendo Wii, but there are only four games included and there is no commentator – a great flaw, as comments on your performance usually enhance the fun. Then again, the multiplayer mode, easiness, and beginner friendliness make the game quite entertaining.

Finally an anime game which doesn't only use the franchise name to call attention. One Piece: Pirate Warriors looks great, it's fun and provides the whole One Piece Experience, starting with Ruffy's fight against Buggy.

Sid Meier's Pirates! is a real cult classic – this hasn't changed a bit. Despite all the bugs and tedious things like sailing east and a missing graphics update since its rerelease, it's still a great game.

Our general impression was: SimCity is good fun. Unfortunately, the game is let down by some serious server breakdowns leading to quite long waiting times and the fact that it doesn't really have a proper single-player mode. By addressing these issues and providing the possibility not to only be able to build cities along with other hobby mayors the developer could easily develop into a buy recommendation from our side.

Solid yet short-lived racer that's fun at parties. Fans of the genre should pick this one up.

After 19 years, X-Men Arcade finally made its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360. A few things like the redesigned heads-up display changed, but sound and graphics are still 1992. They make sure you get your retro-feelings, fighting enemies like Juggernaut, Pyro or Magneto.

Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight is an appropriate ending for such a huge franchise. You get some good old stories and a number of new refreshing features.

DeathSpank: The Baconing can't quite keep up with it's predecessors. The fresh wind of justice has grown a bit stale with a 'more of the same' stink. Various blemishes can't entirely disfigure the heroic face of justice: it's still a solid game at the core.

Academy of Champions is a sports game with some RPG contents for young and old. Everybody will find his dream team after a few hours!

It's damn fun to collect bolts, shoot some enemies and improve the base-defense, but only in the multiplayer mode. Lacking gameplay-depth makes the single-player not really entertaining. In my point of view the game is ok, but it's not a true Ratchet & Clank game. It seems that Sony took the name of a well-known franchise and made a traditional base-defense-game instead of a new game in the world of Ratchet & Clank.

It's not Yakuza anymore – it's a new House of the Dead in a Yakuza environment. Poor mechanics, weird story and repetitive gameplay kill the atmosphere and leave a mediocre third-person zombie shooter.

Overall Thor's adventure is not as good as the comparable Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but it is a nice side-scrolling brawler with a nice story and gigantic bosses.

You liked Starship Troppers? You always wanted to fight alongside all the other bug killing soldiers? Then Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is for you! The game offers tons of weapons and even more enemies to beat. It's not the best game in history, but it's damn fun to kick some bug butts.

Rarely a game has been so varied and profound. Even if the graphics do not fit with the rest of the game, Obsidian Entertainment has managed to deliver a role playing game at its best.

PixelJunk 4am isn't a game, it's more like a social network experiment. That's a gift and a curse at the same time: All depends on the music you're playing or listening to. If you like it, everything's great, but if you can't stand the beats, you'll go offline in a jiffy. It's so creative and there sure are a lot of options, however, your mileage may vary so much that it isn't possible to predict if players will actually love the game.

DarkStar One: Broken Alliance is a solid adventure that brings due to a lot of side missions quite a long game time to you and is fun as a space-shooter. But the bad presentation drops the mood several levels.

Although the graphics and the sound of the game are not that impressive, playing the game is really exciting. The always changing surroundings and the many possibilities, for example, using nearly every object around you to fight with it, are making the game to a real adventure à la Indiana Jones.

A great sequel to the first Assassin’s Creed (PS3, X360). If you played it you definitely have to buy this one as well.

Alien Breed 2: Assault is a great sequel to Alien Breed: Impact. Compared to its precursor, it has improved in terms of graphics and gameplay.

I think the game well develops and is a must-have for all Lego fans and fans of sci-fiction – the existing gameplay makes you play, play and play. The connection between the film and the game is nicely implemented.

Despite some technical issues, Disciple III: Resurrection is somewhat better than the immediate predecessor and a solid successor for the Russian TBS series.

Split/Second Velocity is not for the faint of heart. Fans of racing games will love this one, because it's different from its competitors.

WRC 3 has no challenger this year because there is no DiRT or other rallye game on the market. Milestone improved the game compared to the prequel but there are still some weak-points. The loading time is to long, there is still no split-screen mode and it's absolutely difficult to get started with WRC 3 if you are a newbie.

Alternativa is a point & click adventure that provides a good basic package but nothing more.

Lost Planet 2 is a nice game, with cool graphics and a sound gameplay. However, it's not as gripping as I expected it to be and thus wasn't thoroughly convincing.

Blacklight: Tango Down provides everything that a modern game has to offer, but for a small prize. The extensiveness of the game consisting of 12 maps, the online mode in which you can play with up to 15 others, and the easily understandable levels system with 70 levels ensure numerous entertaining hours of playing.

If you take a closer look, this title is an accumulation of mini games. If you haven´t enjoyed or seen the film, this game won’t offer much fun.

FIFA 11 is a pretty cool soccer simulation on the Nintendo DS with a lot of content to explore and a huge amount of leagues, modes and teams.

This game could be a lot of fun, but the technical shortfalls avoid that. This title can be very frustrating sometimes. Only hardcore fans of the genre will enjoy it very much.

Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow is a pretty cool action RPG with a long storyline (about 25 hours), challenging boss fights, multiplayer modes, a nice atmosphere and a self-made character.
