It may not work enough to sustain it for a 10+-hour runtime, but there are enough interesting ideas here that it’s not hard to imagine it evolving into something fun.

I would recommend waiting for a digital or retail sale before taking on the hordes of insect invaders.

If it had been given the proper treatment, budget, and amount of time, Kane & Lynch would have easily been an A-/90% game. As it was released, it feels like a preview build that somehow hit retail shelves.

Despite initial trepidation of the public regarding a new Puzzle Fighter, Capcom put out a version that slightly strays from the original but is still very fun. With adequate support this title definitely has long legs.

Ordinarily, as someone who loves seeing destruction in my wake, that should be hugely satisfying, but in Crimsonland's case it all just feels oddly underwhelming.

Obviously, there are some people that probably won’t enjoy Yonder too much. If you want action and adventure, of course, it’ll probably bore you, and if you want a fast-paced story, you’re not going to find that here. But if you’re just looking for a delightful game that allows you to explore to your heart’s contest, Yonder is exactly what you’re looking for.

Project Sylpheed is a niche game. It will shake off newcomers who are intimidated by its slightly different control scheme, and find an audience that appreciates the game’s overall style in doing so.

All things considered, though, I can deal with a slightly wonky camera, pointless jumping and occasionally long load screens if they're the trade-off for an otherwise good game. And by any measure, Akiba's Trip: Undead and Undressed is a very good game.

It's clearly not for most people, whether it controls more smoothly on PS4 or not. But it's also a cut above a whole bunch of equally offensive games, and for that reason (if nothing else), it deserves its share of praise.

The game looks great, the audio fantastic, but it is the flesh of the game that is weak.

It's a solid port of something we've seen a hundred times already, but still worth playing.

In the end, I feel like Warriors Orochi 3 is still a great game, but Hyper Edition certainly isn't a standout port.

All in all, the game feels like it is very polished, and looks nice, with no visual or technical bugs or glitches in the gameplay and very few moments where the framerate dipped below 60. The game supports a gamepad on PC and seems like that is the way it is intended to be played since the overlay has pictures of gamepad buttons emblazoned on it. If you’re someone who is into anime JRPG games, then this is most likely right up your alley. If not, give it a look and maybe you’ll find something new you didn’t know you liked. Do be aware though that the game is entirely voiced in Japanese and has English subtitles.

For all of the polish on the visuals and the movement design, Damsel is sorely lacking in gameplay and level design. Stages start to feel similar, then diverge a little, then ram back into similarity over and over. It’s here that the game starts to show its seams–feeling more like a mobile game than an actual console game. Level designs are short, difficult by way of oddly placed items, and a bit irritating.

To spite the rough and buggy nature of Rust Console Edition at launch, it fills a certain void in the online survival genre on consoles and is certainly worth checking out for those craving a more grounded experience.

Nightmare Reaper fits squarely into the box you’ll want to slot it into at first glance. It may have a few minor differences, but if it’s blasting demons you’re after, you’ll get exactly that here.

The older players looking for a tie to the past will probably be happier hiding a dusty Black Knight machine in the basement.

It is nice to see EA Sports use their license for something a bit different.

Think of it as the cheap seats at a game. If you know what you are getting into and have plenty of friends who wanna throw down with you online, then yes, the game does play a fun addictive game of arcade NHL action. If you are looking for a single player experience or will only play online sporadically, then the answer is an emphatic no.

Maybe consider it if/when the game gets a significant discount, but until that day, pass.

Because PUSS! is so odd, it feels like calling it “good” or “bad” is missing the point. This is the kind of game you should play when you really want something totally different, and you want your senses assaulted the whole time you’re playing. It is what it is — and even though I’ve always hated that phrase, it’s the most appropriate way to describe PUSS!

Scars Above is a competent enough game that efficiently gets you through its six-hour runtime. It won’t make you forget its influences, but if you can find this one on sale, you could definitely do a lot worse.

I think Macross – Shooting Insight is a tough one to recommend to most people. The Macross side of it isn’t exactly compelling, the story is an excuse to toss all these characters together into one scenario, and it’s not particularly compelling or interesting, quickly becoming something you’ll skip through as you near the end. Unfortunately, the core shoot ‘em up gameplay isn’t all that great either, it’s a serviceable entry in the genre that shows some promise, but the repetitive stage design and attempts to shoe horn in multiple flavors of shmup gameplay doesn’t do Macross – Shooting Insight any favors. If you’re just dying to get your hands on anything Macross related in the West, then you might gleam some satisfaction out of this one, but I can’t see this really appealing to anyone else.

In other words, your $50 is better spent elsewhere.

If this was a drastic improvement over the original, with a better camera or great ambient sound, it might make sense, but absent those changes, it just seems like you're paying extra money, and not getting all that much in return.

So you may want to take my criticisms with a heaping dose of salt. Just in case you don't, however, be aware that what lies ahead of you is going to be a rushed-yet-slow-moving experience.

The game isn’t about guns, action, blood and mayhem. It’s a game dealing with stealth in its purest form.

A good, just not great game. If you want more diversity and ability to choose the length of your evil doings, you may want to give Port Royale a spin instead.
