The puzzles aren't too difficult to figure out, but the title is perfectly geared to younger players, and is definitely the highlight of the bunch.

For the handhelds, the PSP version resembles the home console titles for the most part, but with the worst visuals of the bunch. The controls also feel completely off, and the entire game is more frustrating to play than the other titles.

It's not the best in the genre, but it's a solid title with a ton of value for someone that's looking for something that'll last a while.

If you can get a handle on the control of your minions, and pick up on the strategy needed to defeat some of the later bosses, you should have quite a bit of fun with this quirky fantasy title.

Top Spin 3 looks great and offers a deep game for anyone willing to dig into it and learn it. But the incredibly steep expectations at the beginning of the learning experience won't be worth it to those looking for a quick game of video tennis. This is not a pick-up-and-play game.

At a $20 price point, Space Invaders Extreme is an absolute steal for DS/PSP owners out there. There's a lot of hidden depth to the single player experience, and you'll get a decent amount of use from the multiplayer aspect as well.

So while I definitely enjoy playing an updated classic on the DS, it just doesn't hold up as well against other recent, and successful revitalizations of older series.

Wolf of the Battlefield succeeds. It's flashier, more detailed, more exciting and lets you play with friends while feeling a lot like Commando must have felt like way back before we knew any better.

Definitely a competent shooter, but fails to exceed in any one department. Everything about it feels incredibly average, and the difficult challenge available is the only thing I can see really appealing to gamers that enjoy the genre.

The environments are absolutely gorgeous, and definitely varied. From jungles to cities, you'll put Ryu thru the motions in a number of locales, all of which are full of vibrant, beautiful color schemes.

I'd definitely suggest picking up Grid though; it's a game that can appeal to a wide variety of racing aficionados out there.

It was one of the better DS RPGs I've played, and stayed in my system for quite a while.

Golf lends itself well to online play, and OT2 doesn't disappoint, especially as a portable title.

If you're a big fan of these niche style games, then it should be right up your alley. Nothing else about Chaos Wars really stands out, the graphics are 2D on a 3D plane, and look well enough, but the music isn't really exceptional stuff.

The game has crossover appeal between PA fans and RPG fans, but the most accurate litmus test will be to see if you like their humor in the first place.

It's all very ho-hum, even down to the visuals which are neither pleasing nor revolting. This is a game which when you play it, you'll wish you were playing a different game that it reminds you of which is more fun, and then you end up just wanting to play that other game.

SingStar for the PS3 shows the promise of what this series will be like and what imaginative ideas Sony has in store for it. Of course I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't mention they've finally added the feature that I've always knocked the series for lacking: the ability to turn down or off the main vocals.

Combat is definitely the highlight of the game, and it really blows away the home versions when it comes to that. However, the rest of the title is pretty standard fare.

Pixeljunk Monsters was a fantastic addition to the PSN library, and while Encore builds upon the foundation well enough, the challenge can be more than off-putting to the casual player.

All together, Obscure: The Aftermath is a pretty bland survival horror experience.

Rolito's designs really stand out and are a huge part of what makes the game so damn lovable.

I can't say that the single player game warrants a $60 purchase, but if you can find the right black magic to make multiplayer work well, then you've got a solid game on your hands.

This might not be a highlight to bow out on, but it might be time for series to be put out to pasture, at least for a bit. Revamp the combat system, spruce up the looks, and come back with a script that entertains without going for the cheap jokes, and maybe you'll have something worth playing.

Platforming nuts and fans of the series won't find themselves disappointed at the content and frenzied gameplay packed into this 800-point arcade game. For a game which in its later bits exists simply to test your patience, it sure does a good job of keeping players in their seats.

It works well as a beginner RPG, and even provides a solid, but simple play thru for RPG vets. Just don't expect anything mind blowing or new, and realize that the motion controls aren't quite perfect, and you should have a pretty good time.
