There’s no denying that Fantastic Plastic Squad is a great-looking game, and the whole “toy” thing is pulled off really, really well. But it does get pretty tedious, and a I seriously cannot stand how it keeps downloading more and more content.

This one’s hard to recommend to anyone, least of all Pokémon fans — unless you have a dark desire to see the cuddly critters exist miserably in a world that Should Not Be.

BMO Snaps taps well into that ‘simple to learn, trickier to master’ trend that works so well for games like this. It really is so simple to start out with, but like any good photo shoot, perfection is tricky to capture.

It’s perhaps frustratingly brief, leaving you wishing for an episodic series of content, but it’s really quite beautiful.

If you like sokoban, puzzle games, or cute things in general. A Good Snowman is Hard to Build will definitely be worth your time.

I Wanna Be A Hero isn’t the most innovative game around, but it does what it set out to do, and that’s give players an easy-to-play (but hard to master) roguelike experience. If you haven’t gotten your fill of the roguelike genre on mobile yet, I Wanna Be A Hero may be worth a look.

Planet Diver is a fairly straightforward and stylish “endless” sort of game that’s perfectly enjoyable if you’re looking for something to eat up a few minutes here and there.

Vehicle management games were once a healthy, proud genre on the App Store, but examples of hearty category specimens are dwindling. If you want to play with some lives, Traffic Rush 2 gets you where you need to go.

Sniper Fury appeals to players who enjoy seconds-long bouts of sniping, and those who get a rush watching a bullet fly through the air and into some poor guys head, belly, or little finger are going to have some decent time with Sniper Fury. As for everyone else, Sniper Fury just doesn’t offer enough interesting content upfront, and there are other games out there that do a better job at what Sniper Fury is doing.

It’s all so very close for Rayman Adventures, but in the end, you’re going to end up wanting more from it. It might look beautiful, but its increasing number of niggles let the side down in the end.

As simple as it is and as little direct interaction as there might be, I do think Pocket Troops is pretty enjoyable.

Dominion is still a good game whether or not you decide to get any of the extras. In fact, I highly recommend doing so if you like board games, card games, or deck builders. Just know that you’ll be paying through the nose if you ever decide to expand your set.

Fans of interactive novels should pick up One Button Travel without a second thought, but be warned: The novel is told in real-time.

Between Hans and the overarching story that ties the separate chapters together, Brave & Little has certainly made some great additions to the Tiny Thief formula.

I don’t hate Aralon: Forge and Flame. I don’t even dislike it, really. But it has a lot of little problems that add up to something I’m not all that interested in playing again. I’d much rather get my RPG fix from something more polished, even if that means it takes place in a smaller world.

World of Tanks Generals is a great card game for casual players and card game enthusiasts alike - but for the more casual player, it might take a little longer to play than what the're used to on mobile devices.

What Army Antz would really benefit from is online multiplayer and a quick and scrappy skirmish mode away from the campaign. Without either, it doesn’t entirely hit the spot.

If you can look past the visuals though, and are looking to take a break from Hearthstone, Mabinogi Duel is the game for you.

Despite its frustrations, Go Home Dizzy’s brand of twirly-twirly stabby-stabby gameplay is unique, nutty, and full of good times. Give it a whirl.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is the best Star Wars game to release for mobile devices in recent memory.

So far no one episode has managed to strike a satisfying balance between interesting puzzles, cool combat, and touching character moments, but taken as a whole it’s been quite the worthwhile ride. Here’s to hoping the last episode(s) can do a good job of capping off a pretty fun story.

While there are a couple of missteps for Real Boxing 2: CREED, it’s a mostly solidly entertaining boxing game. With plenty of content, it should keep you hooked for a while as you learn the art of perfect timing.

When you’re restricted by a game that’s all too keen to make you suffer for not throwing money at it though? That’s when Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade is all looks, lacking in real substance and classiness. It’s frustrating when it’s so close to being a great game.

It’s a little game that has some real value in it’s replay potential for speedrunners, and for everyone else it’s a nice reminder of the games we used to play as kids/teens, back in the age of game cartridges and AA batteries.

It’s a good, lighthearted, and far less deadly trip down.

King Tongue is the sort of wacky, simple, challenging action-platformer that pretty much hits all the right notes.

Last Horizon is a great little mellow but not really mellow space adventure that reminds me a little bit of Out There if it was more arcade-y and less simulation-y. That is to say I really like it, though it can certainly be frustrating at times.

It’s not the worst ending, but considering season two hasn’t even been announced yet, there isn’t any kind of a guarantee that players will get closure for everything they did in season one.
