If you’re a fan of Shakira and happen to like match-3 games, or even if you’re not a fan of hers but still like the genre, you’ll enjoy Love Rocks Starring Shakira.

There’s a pretty good, if simple, action RPG hiding underneath Rune Story’s problems.

The lack of action will probably put off its fair share of players, but I still think Please, Don’t Touch Anything is a riddle worth exploring. If for no other reason than to see how many in-jokes have been crammed into its more obscure puzzles.

Whether or not you can finish the tougher puzzles in the right number of moves, it’s always satisfying to clear them. Plus it’s pretty to look at while you’re doing it.

Even if you’re getting kind of sick of match-3 stuff, I’d recommend giving Zombie Match Defense a look. Underneath the basic matching formula is an unexpectedly solid (and difficult) strategy game.

Downwell is easily one of the best action games to hit mobile this year. It’s intense, it’s unique, and every game you play goes towards unlocking something new.

No doubt Dub Dash is meant to appeal to a very specific niche of rhythm fans who adore insane challenges. Granted, those people should have some measure of fun, as Dub Dash looks great and sounds amazing. Just don’t count on enjoying yourself at this club if you don’t have lightning reflexes.

As someone who really likes board games, I was hoping to enjoy my time with Zombie Dawn. But all of the issues and weird quirks (and one-sided combat) made it all but impossible to do so.

All in all, NHL SuperCard is a fun little card game that NHL fans should look into — and might I add it’s an excellent way to spend a commercial break during a game.

In a way I feel like it would have actually been better if Flash Gordon was a bad game instead of an extremely bland one. Then it could at least have a shot at hitting that “so bad it’s good” sweet spot.

Imagine your favorite mobile base-building strategy game, mix in a dash of XCOM, and then paint on a fresh coat of AMC’s The Walking Dead. That’s No Man’s Land in a nutshell: it’s nothing new to play, but the game features tried-and-true mechanics and comes with a heaping amount of appeal for fans of the television series to digest.

I mostly just wish it controlled better and that the resource side of the economy was (a lot) more balanced.

Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom is a fun endless running game that’s tightly-bound. It proves, once again, that Sonic is at his best when he’s just allowed to run free with the wind in his quills.

For those who make it through the first 50 puzzles, there is a promise of more challenges coming soon. Even without more levels, the reasonable $0.99 download cost is a value for the experience.

You can adjust the digital d-pad to your liking, for instance. It gives you reasons to keep running, too: As you play a level, you’ll see ghosts from your past attempts, as well as the ghosts of your friends. It’s almost impossible to resist the compulsion to give chase.

Need for Speed: No Limits is a faithful mobile rendition of the long-running franchise. There are a few issues that prevented me from fulling enjoying the title, especially with the controls. However, for those searching for a way to take racing on the go, this title might just be the one you’ve been looking for.

Eternity Warriors 4 is a step in the right direction for the series, improving on some issues that hindered its predecessor. But the gameplay experience is impaired by some lackluster artificial intelligence that holds Eternity Warriors 4 back from being truly great.

The core experience of Land Sliders—flawless controls, entertaining characters, interesting levels, and a variety of viable strategies—is already a fantastic game that we would highly recommend. But Prettygreat has gone even further above and beyond by including a number of secrets and mysteries to uncover that transform Land Sliders from a high score chase into a true adventure.

To Dawn of Steel’s credit, it doesn’t have an energy system, so as long as you have the patience, you can play the game for free for as long as you want. Just don’t blame me if you fall asleep and drop your iPad Mini on your face during a five-minute waiting period.

HoPiKo’s repetition is what helps you learn the ins and outs of every segment and level. That doesn’t mean things don’t get a little frustrating, though. But having to “Play it again, Sam” barely makes a dent on HoPiKo’s crimson finish. Try playing it at the start of your day. It’s like electric coffee.
