The main complexity of Terra Nil comes from wasteful use of currency and poor planning during the building process, and it might force you to restart the stage or even the entire map at some point. But once you are done, the biomes have been restored, the animals have been repopulated and your equipment is all gone, you will get to see it. The map, restored to its former glory, inhabited and alive, created by your hands and mind.

Yaga on PC is a fun romp through an underused setting. Slavic lore is fascinating and the game hands it to you by the bucket. However, while the story is fun, the setting is fantastic, and the graphics are terrific, Yaga's gameplay suffers from mediocrity despite some interesting-ish mechanics.

For non-fans, those not familiar with the anime series, Bleach: Rebirth of Souls is an extremely controversial purchase. For fans of fighting, it is simply okay once you overcome the entry threshold.

Easily one of the best "sims" I've played in a while. By taking what makes games like Euro Truck and Farm Simulator so popular and applying it to the core ideas of ownership and operating a city-wide bus system, Stillalive has made a really admirable game. It's got a lot of depth, soul, and heart poured into it, even if it's rough around the edges in the way of bugs and polish issues.

It has a great mix of difficulty, RPG, and a story that will make me want to continue playing this game until I have beaten it.

If you’ve got kids or a significant other who loves to whack LEGO minifigs with you, you’re golden. If that’s the case, you could do a whole lot worse than LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.

No Straight Roads is a game with beautiful visual and musical design, filled with side-tickling humor and banter, spectacular battles but with a pretty average gameplay overall. It will take you roughly 5 to 7 hours to beat the game, but you will likely get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising takes Ubisoft in a new direction, different from that of Assassin’s Creed. The game still utilizes an open-world, the way it goes about it is very different. While it doesn’t bring anything new or innovative to the table of action-adventures, Immortals is a short and charming colorful journey into Greek mythology.

Overall, Riptide GP: Renegade is a fun and delightful experience for any racing fans, but will especially hook those – like me – that grew up with Jet Moto. Although the story appears thin and doesn’t do enough to explore the settings of the world around you, the wide range of gameplay options and modes like online multiplayer will provide ample distraction to the player.

Ancestors Legacy is a great new take on the RTS genre. While it has it's flaws, it's a breath of fresh air to a stagnant genre of games. It's laid back approach to real time strategy games allows more access to more players without causing too much effort to learn the game. Overall it's a great time.

Unfortunately, Restaurants doesn't offer much to keep players engaged for long and can get boring relatively quickly. However, any shortcomings here aren't so bad — you can experience a lot of positivity, chaos and fun in just a few evenings, especially in the company of friends. If the developers can come up with something that sets the game apart from other cooking simulators and tavern or restaurant management games — besides rats and a few events — then the game has enormous potential.

Oblivion Remastered is undoubtedly a beautiful visual update of the classic. At the same time, the game hasn't got rid of its old flaws. NPCs still act like they're caught in a time trap, frozen in the time of the original. Bugs and technical issues are still a part of this world, which certainly detracts from the overall impression of the update.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an amazing game that masterfully creates a world that is as fun to look at as it is to navigate quickly. Ubisoft Massive has painstakingly brought the Pandoras to life, ensuring that both casual and avid movie fans will appreciate the sights. And while the game is sometimes able to hold its own against the films, its success is partially negated by the all-too-familiar Ubisoft formula peeking out from under its beautiful exterior and a less-than-interesting or innovative story.

Its main gameplay mechanic - the actual rhythm gameplay - does get in its own way. But if you’re just wanting to experience more stories and groove to the amazing soundtrack, Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight is definitely a good place to do so.

A violent, but wacky successor to the Road Rash franchise born in the 90s. It’s an “over-the-top” biker beat’em up that has some buggy moments, but they make for some of the more entertaining points.

If you are a fan of card-crawling, story-rich, easy to play casual games, then this game has probably already been on your radar. While this game is pretty fun to play, it may not be to everyone’s taste. These types of rogue-like games can be particular niches that, if you like them, you love them, but if you don’t, they can start to feel incredibly similar and redundant. So, if you are looking for more games that introduce card battling mechanics, this could definitely be a game for you. I thoroughly enjoyed what the game offered. Was it very similar to Slay the Spire? Yes. Does it bring its own new mechanics of game play to the table as well? Of course. So, I recommend you download the free mobile version and give it a try. This would be something quick and easy to play on any lunch break, or under your desk at a boring office meeting. By playing this game on mobile first, it gives you the opportunity to try the game before you purchase it on Steam. Whether it is for mobile or pc, this game deserves a spot in any true rogue-like lovers’ library.

Empire of the Ants is one of the most visually-stunning strategies I have ever played. However, the game suffers from a clear lack of strong identity. It is an entertaining and novel experience with unique perspective and impressive visual prowess for a short while, but it is up to you to decide whether it is worth its price.

As a single-player experience, Team Sonic Racing is a competent, if entirely derivative, kart racer with a great cast of characters and vibrant, inventive tracks. But in multiplayer modes, it excels and stands out in its crowded field with new and exciting innovations and cooperative features that challenge the tried-and-true formula.

It doesn’t look like the developers had to sacrifice anything in the game to bring it to the Switch. However, it doesn’t look like they added much either. That being the case unless you absolutely must play this game on the go I’d recommend sticking to Steam, PS4, or the XBox One where you can get Battle Chasers for under $20 instead of paying $40 for this port.

If real-time strategy games are your standard fare, and interplanetary travel is your thing, you'd do well to check out Worbital on Steam PC (coming to consoles in the future)! The game has some of the most life-like physics seen for missiles and munitions. This is about as close as you can currently get to building and commandeering your own Death Star.

In a world of fast-paced games with extra gimmicks and money-grabbing tactics, Earthlock is a breath of fresh air. I have a lot of respect for what it is: it is a love letter to a genre that shaped me as a gamer. And for that, I am thankful.

Crying Suns, a grim, sci-fi rogue-like adventure, leads us through Alt Shift’s version of a post-apocalyptic galaxy, complete with pirates, mutants, robot worshipping religious zealots, and other unsavory characters. The game features tactical combat, a strategic map with resource management mechanics, and a mystery for the player to unfold.

It manages to tick all the genre tropes but with a knowing sense of its own ridiculousness. At times the writing can be a little uninspired, but when it decides to forge its own path, Lovingly Evil and its more inventive moments is as ridiculous as an army of trained murder squirrels, assuming your evil plan involves trained murder squirrels. With a sinfully gluttonous amount of replay value and some inventive ideas, Lovingly Evil won’t conquer the world but it might annex your heart, plant a flag, and start taxing you per beat.
