The art for City of the Shroud is quite good. Ranging from nicely done class models that have a little bit of customization to them, to a beautifully done city background that feels fresh.

Choo-Choo Charles is a fun, and original concept stretched so thinly that it caught our attention. We deserve to be underwhelmed by it, and its creator still deserves credit for a great little game.

It’s getting a middling score, but I implore you: do not play this game. Do not encourage this lack of creativity with your money. At some point, we need to get off of this treadmill of worthless unartistic experiences and demand more. THKM is the perfect example of a treadmill game, a deja vu-inducing experience that means nothing. It’s a pretty love letter to a niche film genre, and that’s all it is. Maybe it’s not meant for us, but in that case, don’t make us play it. It feels like nothing, gives nothing, and doesn’t advance the form in any meaningful way. It rehashes concepts that have been rehashed since 2013.

WarPlanes: WW2 Dogfight offers a fun light-hearted dog fight experience for players. Despite its repetitive mission types and unbalanced visuals, the title still is a fun arcade experience. If your looking for a quick dogfighting flight fix, then it might be worth checking out WarPlanes.

Despite Earthblood’s roughshot ride over opportunities to dive deep into the lore of Werewolf: the Apocalypse, the focused exploration of this end of the World Of Darkness manages to deliver a bloody good time when the claws come out. It's just a shame that some of the loftier ideas are let down by repetitive stealth gameplay and poorly developed mechanics.

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition brings a classic game to a more modern look while retaining everything which made the original a classic in the first place. It's worth playing for anyone who hasn't ever played it and a fun trip through memory lane for those of us who have loved it. Unfortunately, the Switch version suffers from not having the touchscreen-enabled for navigating menus and in-game.

I’m sure in a month or maybe even less, we will see the game turn around as the player base has already started to go back up. I’m going to keep playing it here and there and simply enjoy the game for what it is now and look towards the future as it is still the most fun shooter to play for me.

After delving into the game in its release form for several hours, I found I greatly enjoyed the game and felt that it had lived up to the expectations set by what was available in the preview. The game is unique and enjoyable with a compelling story and diverse characters that embody a complex culmination and interaction of various subcultures that deviate from each other while simultaneously holding true to what I would imagine is the nature of New York in that time era.

The Bradwell Conspiracy is a mediocre puzzle experience that doesn’t last more than 6 hours. Regarding the game’s disappointing story, technical issues and easy gameplay, there are better options in the same genre that you can fill your time.

Feels like a fairly solid addition to the Warhammer 40k Universe. Its setting and visuals offer a great look at the dark gritty universe and the deliberate choices in combat mechanics will make you feel like a Space Marine. However, those same choices will definitely be a turn off to a lot of FPS players and when coupled with some awkward AI it’s safe to say this title won’t be for everyone.

Robocraft Infinity has released recently and continues to show its great game status with each and every playthrough on it. The game comes in with a low price tag, 19.99 USD for the base version of the game with a Deluxe and Ultimate bundle available for sale as well. The game is fun and the graphics are very good while playing on the Xbox One X. It comes in with 4k enhanced gameplay for the ultimate bot building and duelling experience.

While levels do increase in size, it is rare to find anything that is truly inspiring.

Slender: The Arrival did manage to perform well on the switch and of course give me some truly great scares but let’s be honest. The Repetitive mechanics do start to take away from the scares and morph into frustration.

The gameplay is fun when it works properly, but sticking out the issues in multiplayer most likely won’t appeal to those with no emotional ties to the series. In that way, I feel, die hard 7 Deadly Sins fans may be the only ones that will truly appreciate this title.

I was able to beat this game in less than two hours. There is very little in the way of a story except for being a lonely Koala Bear looking for his mate. He is depressed most of the game and nothing good happens.

The single player, oddly, is the best part of Metal Gear Survive. I say “oddly” because it’s billed as a co-op game primarily. But the online multiplayer is just sort of “Horde Mode”, and we’ve all done that again and again for a decade now.

The Great Perhaps provides a unique adventure puzzler with a story that is sure to surprise the player once completed. The hand drawn art style is endearing and the music fits the games ambiance very well. Unfortunately, The Great Perhaps is very short, with less than 3 hours of gameplay on its best day. With no achievements and no reason to revisit The Great Perhaps, this is definitely an adventure that you will only take once.

Aeronautica Imperialis: Flight Command is a mixed bag of dice. It’s a unique concept and the tabletop conversion and combat interpretation feels fantastic, its just a shame that when your head’s out the clouds the rest of the game doesn’t feel quite so special. Fans of strategy titles should definitely take this interesting new title for a spin but don’t expect it to be a long haul flight.

Legend Of Kay Anniversary for the Switch is a retro action-RPG platformer that shows some signs of age.

If you are a new player, it fits in great with the game. If you're a returning player in hopes of getting new content, you will be very disappointed.

Since I have picked up this title and I have found it extremely hard to put down. I have even found myself removing my switch from its comfy home on the dock and taking the adventure with me to work. If you are looking for a mid-tier priced game at $24.99 that has a great atmosphere and offers several hours of gameplay, look no further.

Exorder is a good turn-based strategy game that is not for the beginning militarist. The game has robust multiplayer support and welcome touchscreen support but its unrelenting A.I. might be more frustration than desired.

Demon’s Rise: War for the Deep tries to be a good strategy game. It offers a little depth, a little fun, and a little bit of a fantasy for those who want it. It, unfortunately, falls short of offering a memorable fantasy experience with its derivative premise, janky controls, and limited re-playability.

There are loads of weapons to pick up and use – from the long-ranged spear to the crossbow, and several shorter-ranged melee options as well, and the Knight will always have his trusty sword too. By the end of Castle of Heart, you’ll feel satisfied that you undertook the journey, and while there’s no real reason to replay the adventure, you’ll still be glad you saw it through to the end. I was.

If you’ve been hungry for a pet breeding simulator to arrive on the Nintendo Switch, this will certainly scratch that itch. But, if you’re after something more satisfying to chew on, the shallow and repetitive gameplay are likely to disappoint.

OctaFight while it can be initially fun and having great music, the game really depends on having people to play with locally and in this time of social distancing that has made it pretty hard since there is no single player.

One plus side of this release is that Skyforge is free to play! If you own a Nintendo Switch, there is absolutely no risk at all involved for you to jump in the game and try it out for yourself. I always highly encourage anyone who has even the slightest bit of interest to try it out for themselves. I will definitely be keeping my eye on Skyforge for the next few weeks to see whether or not they pull through on their end with fixes. If that happens, I would be more than happy to update this review with a newer article, score, and impressions. For now, I’ll just have to say goodbye to my beautiful wings and halo, and hang them up for a day when they can be utilized to their fullest without the constant crashing.

Ultimately Last Encounter is a decent game that misses the mark on greatness. It has some great ideas that really do bring some fun new life to its respective genres but a simplistic gameplay loop coupled with some lacklustre enemy AI leaves me wanting more from the title. If you’re looking for a simple, twin-stick shooter that you can play with some friends, Last Encounter will fit the bill for a while but it just doesn’t have the staying power to keep you engaged long term.

Multiplayer is a wonderful addition to the Fallout franchise and the world created in West Virginia is unique, gorgeous, and fun to explore. It may not be in line to win any awards but if you enjoyed the previous installation, Fallout 4, it's quite likely you'll find the same fun in Bethesda's Fallout 76.

Shing! manages to take the beat'em-up genre, throw in some fantastic ideas, and squander it all on a twin-stick combat system that convolutes what would otherwise be a solid combo-mashing sidescroller. There is still a lot to like about this game, but unless you really dig analog stick combat, you may want to pass on this one.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is a game that got better after release.

The overzealous monetization aside, A3 is a solid mobile MMO, and for anybody looking for PvE progression, the mid-level dungeons available in A3 start to provide an acceptable level of difficulty and engaging combat mechanics. the difficulty A3 has is the number of sub systems that artificially increase the amount of time spent sorting your way through sub menus makes getting to dungeons something of a trial. Thankfully much of my complaints are mute in Battle Royale.

Just like the tonal balance between a businessman in a maid outfit trying to escape an earthquake while making a life or death decision, Disaster Report 4: Summer Memoires can feel like an odd tightrope walk. Despite its problems, I was hooked. Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories is a unique, sometimes earth-shattering experience. It doesn’t get everything right but it’s the nearest you’ll ever want to get to an earthquake and that works for me.

Sadly, RBI Baseball 18, while ahead of last year's edition, is still obviously hampered by porting the mobile version to consoles and charging 300% more. It's not worth your time or your money, unless you're really hard up for a Switch baseball game. If you have access to any other console, play something there instead.

ACORN Tactics was not enough to scratch any sort of itch – tactical or otherwise – and it was more of a frustrating exercise in futility than an enjoyable experience.

If you're a sentimental fan of G.I. Joe, then you are the most likely to truly enjoy this game. G.I. Joe fans will enjoy the characters, the things to collect, the Saturday morning cartoon-ish visuals, as well as the campy cartoony storyline. For all others, this will just come across as a run-of-the-mill third-person shooter game that will require some patience to find a control scheme setting you can work with.

Clock simulator really is a cluster of mini-games that set players against the clock. This is an interesting idea that doesn't quite go far enough meaning that the bell tolls far too quickly for this unusual indie game.

It’s not trashy enough to add that comical factor. Beneath the mediocrity, some heart and soul went into the creation. Still, there is not a single reason that justifies bringing this game to the PC 11 years after the original release. Its sheer existence is the most fascinating aspect of this port.

RBI 19 is another step forward for the returning series, and it's still the only game in town on the Switch if you want a baseball game. But for a game that fancies itself as more arcade than simulation, it's still a bit bland to play for my liking. They either need to fully commit to the Arcade-stylings or try harder to be a sim. I'd expect RBI 20 to be more of the former.

Baseball Riot is a great physics puzzler and with a 5 dollar price tag on the Nintendo store it could be a great little title for rainy afternoons or the morning commute. However if you tend to lean towards your phone for those times this title might be better off left in the dugout.

This is a big failure for Cracked Head Games, but it might lead them not to repeat the same mistakes in their next project.

A short, devoid of any really serious game changing choices, or any long term progression. It is, however, a gorgeously constructed distraction.

The story of Doctor Who: Edge of Reality follows the classic canon of the series, developing very vigorously and featuring interesting plot twists and a stunning end. The game is worth playing through, but the number of bugs and glitches interfere with the enjoyment and can force you to restart your playthrough. The idea and certain features such as the mechanics of riddles, musical accompaniment, the story of a huge universe filled with detailed lore are amazing, but the realization leaves much to be desired.

A very challenging hack and slash that will require quick adaptation, decisive accuracy, and a great patience with frequent death. The game is graphically pleasant and fun to play and even throws in a range of different tactics and mechanics. If you like hardcore challenges, this is definitely a game to try out.

Overall, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition was set up to be one of the best things for GTA fans and it failed to hit that mark. It will now be remembered as a failure to launch title but I am sure Rockstar will step in and continue to fix some items within their game world.

The first thing I can say about this title is how much goofy fun it is.

Overall, this game lacks any specific direction beyond what you have to figure out for yourself. You get no introduction to the character or the situation they face. There are game breaking bugs and things that cause frustrations that make someone not want to play the game anymore. That being said, this game has good environments and music.

The gameplay of Gangs of Sherwood unfortunately resembles a constant cycle of a fight for a minute, explore the location, fight for a minute and a half, and so forth. Then players move on to the next one, and then the level is complete. Luckily, the level art is simply stunning which removes some of the monotonous pain. With the possibilities of selecting your own gameplay for the characters, and because there is enough variability in the game, it is a tolerable, if somewhat lackluster game at the moment especially in terms of combat and its attractiveness. Still, however, Gangs of Sherwood is definitely worth your attention or to keep an eye on over time, especially have someone to play with.

Element Space had choices that impacted the game like Mass Effect which I liked. Unfortunately, there were many bugs that caused the game time to be funny, frustrating, and annoying. A good game is there somewhere but the problems need to be fixed.

SuperMash is a unique concept – what do you get when you smush together two different genres of games? In this case, a mixed bag. SuperMash, a game where two of six classic console genres are combined for something new and different, comes across as a brilliant idea with mediocre implementation – with some revisions to and improvements of existing content, the experience could be much more enjoyable.

At this point, I can not recommend the game due to its outdated graphics, clunky mechanics, boring combat and other problems.

The introduction of classes, along with the reworking of the skill and weapon systems makes the game accessible to players of other modern shooters, but the lack of new content and the decision to not port over existing characters gives veterans little incentive to leave their old world behind.

If you're looking for something horribly cheesy with simple controls, this could be something you might enjoy, and to be honest, if the graphics were better, that would be exactly how I would spin this. As a gouda inspired feast of intentional badness. But when you combine the script, the controls, and the graphics, it ends up just feeling like a very ambitious game that never really got there.

As it is, it is still a blast to play, interrupted by quick frustrations that come from missed attacks that can completely stop an assault. If you are looking for a hectic hack-n-slash boss fighting game, Extinction is absolutely worth picking up. Those who can be quickly frustrated from bugs, however, may want to wait for a couple of patches.

For a budget game, there's a lot to love in Monster Jam Steel Titans, despite its shortcomings. If you're a megafan of Monster Jam, there's probably never been a better game. Still, it's lacking some basic design functions that could make it a must-own. My kid loves it though, and sometimes that's all that matters.

At best Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos is a very average cash grab that features stale gameplay and predatory monetization tactics.

Unfortunately, this Nintendo Switch port created some flaws that make total enjoyment difficult. The biggest being the blurry graphics, especially when docked and played on a monitor.

If you are predisposed toward the infernal if you enjoy the gory and the journey this game might be for you. If you are looking for solid gameplay and perpetual darkness is an issue, then you will see more devils than this vast hell can hold.

Ultimate Fishing Simulator for Xbox One is a sub-par port of the PC version. For a fishing game with the words ultimate and simulator in the title, UFS doesn't live up to the realism or challenge I envisioned. Even though the PC version has been out for two years the Xbox One graphics are of poorer quality, detracting from the overall enjoyment of the game. In the end, the inclusion of a wide variety of environments and styles of fishing doesn't offset the simplistic and redundant mechanics of catching and reeling in fish, resulting in a long and boring grind to reach the big catches the ocean fishing has to offer.

If you like highly challenging rogue-like games with unique role-playing elements, Soulblight may be a game that scratches that masochistic itch that few games do.

Safe House feels more like a beginning more than a complete game. A formula, more than a package. The artwork is great and every aspect of the game has potential that I hope a one-man team can address to truly put it in the spotlight.

Bubsy is a cat-out-of-time trying to find his fit in a world that’s memories of him haven’t been too endearing. Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is a moderately enjoyable game, but it just out of place within it’s current price bracket. Aside from the price, there are moments where Bubsy’s commentary feels rather forced (occasionally annoying), but other times he delivers one-liners that made me chuckle. It feels like Bubsy is trying too hard to be Deadpool-esque in relevancy and self-awareness.

WWE 2K20 features a lot of modes and a full WWE roster but that’s all you get in the game. If you want to enjoy the game, you have to get along with numerous technical issues, forget about any online feature, and get used to the awkward narration of MyPlayer.

AeternoBlade 2 is a continuance of AeternoBlade, an action time-puzzler by CORECELL Technology. This action-puzzle game implements multiple styles of combat with an interesting time manipulation mechanic. While the puzzles are mostly enjoyable, the combat is largely uninspired, leading to tedious boss encounters and aggravating 3D battles that quickly neutralizes the fantastic points of AeternoBlade 2's design.

As you dig into this tale of survival, I can’t help feel that it would have been better suited to a 2D point and click. The Uncertain: Light At The End does play on establish genre tropes but still manages it convincingly. Where it falls down is when it jams in odd immersion breaking puzzles and drops in yet another bug. Uncertain is an appropriate description for this tale of tin and while I’d give it a whirl once it’s had its chrome plated spit shine, I would hold off for some Walking Dead with better footing.

Frankly, Mecho Tales breaks my heart because I want to see more creative talent and this team has so much promise in their character designs. While Mecho Tales is not an entirely broken game, it is a game that doesn’t quite seem to know what it wants to be.

The egregious monetization can't be overlooked in this game. Originally I was being lenient and choosing to simply ignore it but after playing the game for 10 hours it very quickly became clear this game is only interested in putting up as many obstacles as possible and selling you the solution to these problems. While it's true that a lot of these items can be earned in-game, they make it very clear that paying is the better option. Combine that with the simple and repetitive nature of the game and I can't honestly recommend this. As it's free though you have nothing to lose by trying it for yourself, just understand though what type of game you are getting yourself into.

While Gleamlight is beautiful visually to behold some of the developer's design decisions make the game frustrating to play at times. The game isn't exceedingly hard but there are times, due to its dark presentation, you're not sure which way to go. The design leaves too much to trial and error. The decision to use a "keep it clean" design for the user interface sometimes takes it a step too far. With this being said, the game does offer some fun for the better first half of the game, after that it grows a bit stale.

Overall, the game itself is not overly complicated, and anyone can pick it up and play it.

With all of this in mind, is The Deer God worth picking up on the Nintendo Switch? It is certainly a well-designed title that does provide enjoyable gameplay. Its tranquil aesthetic and procedurally-generated world make it a relaxing adventure to keep returning to. If you can look beyond the narrative or if you happen to share the game’s perspective, it’s a pretty neat romp and makes for a great portable title.

The gameplay was familiar but a bit lackluster as it got old fast.

The design concept behind Mittelborg: City Of Mages seemed to have a lot of potential. One can forgive the non-engaging gameplay but any enjoyment is quickly hampered by frustrating control and a no-brains, overt advisory information approach. The game becomes less about skill and more about random chance.

Overall Wild West Online in its current state does not offer anything worth spending at its full asking price for. The player number seems to continue to drop and while the dev team continues to patch the game, it could be too little too late. A game that should be in Beta, is instead in full release.

Warriors All-Stars adds a few fun new additions to the series, but ultimately falls short at making itself stand out for any reason other than the cast. It allows many of Koei Tecmo’s stars from multiple games to meet up and cause massive amounts of mayhem in the name of good, but adds no interesting mechanics or hooks outside of continuing to provide a great Musou experience.

Let Them Come is an over-the-top call back to Sci-Fi tropes. If you like indie titles with self-aware, meta humor and RPG elements, Let Them Come is worth checking out. It’s got great pacing, it’s fun and quite bloody. Seriously, who is going to clean up these hallways after Rock Gunar is done with them!?

Don’t get me wrong, Omega Strike is an enjoyable romp into the platformer genre, however, it’s not one that I feel brings anything new to the table. If you’re a fan of the Wolbyware’s previous work or are a fan of platformers I think Omega Strike is definitely worth a look-in however for this writer there’s not enough to keep bringing me back to the title.

Jettomero isn’t terribly difficult and, if the art style grabs you, the lack of complex game play may be refreshing. The backstory of the protagonist is worth discovering, and the argument could be made that the point here isn’t so much to be challenged as it is to just be Jettomero, and see the world through the eyes of a humongous, well-meaning sentient robot who wants to help but keeps accidentally stepping on things.

There is so much more to the game I didn’t get to explore or have room to explain. Characters can upgrade and merge gear. Gear can be recrafted to fit the partner. There is pvp and raids and seasonal events. This is a game with a lot to offer. It’s free to play and if you’re looking for a classic MMORPG experience with a community then this game is worth checking out.

If you are looking for an RTS that you can simply play as a solo campaign, this is not the game for you. However, if you are someone who likes strategy games that allow you to work in tandem with others and want to be a part of building up an RTS gaming community by championing KAVA’s values of Competition, Cooperation, and Community, Divided We Fall is worth checking out.

Despite any drawbacks, I found the game to be very absorbing and challenging. Gameplay requires a balance of skill and quick maneuvering as well as equipment upgrading and intelligent item use to keep you alive. After progressing through level after increasingly difficult level I found myself continually more compelled to play on and discover the intents behind the forces fighting for dominance on this dark and lonely moon.

While some of it does seem trope-y and parts been done before, I feel Gianty has done enough to make the story in Goken their own. Overall the game felt like a good solid addition to anyone’s Action RPG library.

In general, I don’t mind new games that get inspiration from some of these older hits, as long as they find a way to improve upon their predecessors. Unfortunately, Riskers doesn’t pull this off. The open-world lacks the reckless abandon found in GTA, and the shooter missions are not up to par with the stylized graphics and pace of Hotline: Miami. If I didn’t have any prior knowledge of the games, I would swear GTA and Hotline were the evolution of Riskers, not the other way around.

Don’t let the pixels fool you into thinking this will be an easy feat. Maybe it will be for some of you people out there who are good with puzzles it will be. In the end, though it will be a good time and a good challenge. To those who pick up this cool indie title on October 23rd let me know down below what level stumped you the longest and which you had to skip.

If you are curious about what D&D is all about, or a veteran chasing a feeling of nostalgia, you should give Tales from Candlekeep a shot. It’s a well-polished rendition of classic D&D and is sure to provide hours of entertainment.

Gunman Taco Truck isn’t a particularly complex game once you work out how to beat it. There is limited longevity to this format, simply because it has a win and failure state, but it is absolutely worth your time. If you are sick of ghastly grey post-apocalyptic nightmares hen it might be worth spicing up your taco with Romero Studios' latest creation.

The new map is huge and varied, and definitely the best part of the new expansion. You can do the Road to the Olympics story right from the start of the game (after the tutorial), and it’s only about 3-5 hours long. It’s worth playing through, but the long term fun comes from Japan itself, playing with others, and trying out all the different ways you can explore the map.

If you are itching for a Metroidvania-style game that will endear itself to you with charming characters and a soundtrack fitting to the style, Gearend is worth checking out. At this point, I can see Epsilon-98 and I having many, many adventures together. If Gearend is any indication of the creative potential of SolarLune, I want him to keep making games… because I will buy them, I will play them, and I will love them.

Son of Scoregasm is an easy recommendation to make to anyone that loves twin sticker shooters or challenging indie arcade games. For everyone else, your mileage may vary depending on your patience. Beyond a ridiculously fun scoring system, a ton of unique levels, multiple enemies and bosses, and a solid soundtrack, Son of Scoregasm is good ole fashioned shoot ‘em up fun. It doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it is easily one of the most refined iterations of it yet.

Kaet Must Die is meant to be a hard game, but it crosses the threshold of what is fun in a hard game. Although everyone's point of view of what fun is, is different obviously. The game seems more catered towards being a game that is streamed for the jump scares reactions that several audiences appreciate. Because there are jump scares, oh yes there are plenty of jump scares.

The game is clunky and frustrating. It provides some fun in estimating firing ranges for your tanks, but it makes that fun really hard to get to and loads it with the burdens of no tutorial, subpar UI, and frustrating movement mechanics. Whatever you’d come to this game looking for, it’s probably done better somewhere else.

Starship Corporation is a mixed bag. The learning curve on shipbuilding is steep but well worth the time to master. The mission simulator is fun at first but becomes repetitious and predictable after a short while.

What got me excited fast is that unlike your common park area’s you may have experienced previously like in Cities Skylines Green City, Parklife allows you to edit over such areas or wherever you wish, so your chosen theme puts itself in between everything filling in empty spaces already there.

Deployment is a great effort that just fell short for me. For $12.99 on Steam, it just doesn't offer enough to justify the price.

If you like puzzles and you want to play something that is also kid friendly then pick this game up.

With light puzzle content and a collection click-adventure game style, it doesn’t require fast reaction times or exceptional dexterity from the player. While the story is largely uncomplimentary to the game-style, for appropriately aged gamers, Varenje can still be an enjoyable diversion for the puzzle minded gamer.

As a chilled, low-stress experience that strikes the right blend of cuteness and charm, Deiland certainly delivers, even though it lacks the depth and complexity of sandbox games that appeal to an older audience.

With a light hearted presentation for children of all ages, well rendered graphics on both the PC and Switch versions, and a few rockin’ audio tracks that don’t get bothersome after repeatedly hearing them, Tiny Hands Adventure is a solid little game that can easily occupy new platformer fans.
