Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment adds some worthwhile extensions to Tears of the Kingdom's lore, but its story is ultimately constrained by the predetermined outcome of the original, leaving little room for depth or meaningful dramatic conflict. Beneath the flashy battlefields and familiar hack-and-slash rush lies a loop that's repetitive and short on fresh ideas.

As an IP-derived fighting game, DNF Duel is up to standard. Each available character has distinctive characteristics and interesting gameplay, and the simple operation makes it easier to attract fans' attention and devote themselves to it. Unfortunately, the deficiencies of storyline and gameplay, as well as the too-simple combat mechanism, make it difficult to really become an addictive fighting game.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge retains the original style of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games to the greatest extent possible, but also makes many new improvements in line with the times. Its retro-style levels have many interesting classic elements, the combat system has been largely renovated, and the online co-play system also has some original designs. However, some of the levels have some problems that affect the experience, the BOSS battle has few highlights, making it a relatively mediocre gameplay experience, and also difficult to bring a sufficient sense of achievement.

Wargroove 2 feels more like a big DLC. The game systems have hardly been improved and there are very few new units and commanders. Fortunately, the Campaign mode offers a substantial amount of content with improved quality compared to the previous game. While the roguelike mode offers a fresh experience, the actual enjoyment of the game is somewhat limited.

Let's School has introduced several impressive updates, making investment and growth the main focus of the current version. The addition of club and activity systems also brings a lot of new content to the game. However, playing Let's School on the Switch may not be as great an experience as on the PC, as the font appears too small on the screen.

Death Coming is an outstanding puzzle indie game. Although there is a small number of defects, like the annoying angles, Death Coming is still worth a try, especially for its unique innovation.

The SLG part of Triangle Strategy is quite worth playing, but this game slightly falls short in terms of story design and role development freedom and still lags far behind Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics, the games to which it pays homage. Despite being unremarkable, it is still an SLG game worth trying, given the scarcity of this type of games lately.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake: Destiny and Strategy Expansion Pack does address many of the game's earlier shortcomings. The Jewel system may appear simple, but its added functions are genuinely practical, while the Turning Point system introduces new dynamics to the strategic layer. With the addition of an editing system, the game's overall freedom is also noticeably expanded.

Artifact is as hard-core as Dota2 and you might feel exhausted when you finish a single round which usually would last half an hour. The greedy economy system is lacking in long-term reward and it gives players no choice but to spend more and more money. But despite all those flaws, Artifact is also an innovative game which fuses basic MOBA mechanics and TCG rules together, and those elements actually work well. It's still full of potential.

Laser League is easy to play but difficult to master. Despite some online matching problems, it has great potential.

Neva certainly offers a touching emotional experience, though it may fall short of the standard set by Gris. However, if you're an animal lover, you might find even greater emotional value in this game. The white wolf companion is incredibly lifelike, and the process of nurturing it leaves a deep and lasting impression.

Mafia II: Definitive Edition doesn't offer any extra content compared with the original version but still impress me with the immersive story and decent gameplay even after a decade. The graphic improvement doesn't stand out but there is no doubt that Definitive Edition is the best way to experience the adventure.

Although Burning Shores is just a DLC with a gameplay length of only five or six hours, but its achievement in refreshing the graphical performance on consoles is commendable. For players who are more interested in the mechanics of the game, while its performance in areas such as boss battles may be a little lacking, the overall experience is still considered fresh and exhilarating. Not to mention that it further explores the core concept of 'cooperation' and adds to the lore of the game world itself.

Compared with recent entries, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 actually shows a level of sincerity. The campaign takes a clear step back narratively, but it remains playable and reasonably engaging. Multiplayer is easily the strongest first outing the series has seen in years, while Zombies and the campaign's endgame are serviceable additions that still provide enough long-term pull for PvE fans.

Journey to the Savage Planet doesn't as savage or wild as I thought, actually the style is a little bit weird and funny. Of course, it's not perfect but at the end of the day, I enjoy spending time on the Planet especially with my friends.

Untitled Goose Game is a funny puzzle game that you can embarrass all human beings by playing as a goofy goose. But it's a pity that the game is too short.

For fans of classic stealth games, Evotinction is definitely worth a try. Its various systems, including hacking, tasers, and environmental interaction, greatly expand your stealth options, providing plenty of room for creative gameplay. However, in the later stages, freedom is somewhat restricted due to resource limitations and enemy design. While the story and narrative aren't particularly outstanding, they do offer some unique touches.

XCOM: Chimera Squad definitely worth trying but it won't prevail compared with its prequel. The breach mode and the interleaved turns system make the gameplay much faster and intenser. But the wonderful experience only lasts for a few hours because the breach mode is too repetitive.

As a "survival" game, Fat Shark games has absorbed a lot of successful experience from Vermintide. Darktide inherited the classic "cooperation + grinding" gameplay, it has shown good quality in the plot; game settings; and background music, but the annoying network, poor optimization, mistranslation and half-finished equipment system also dragged down the game experience of players. I hope that Fat Shark games can solve these problems in the future updates, so that I can continue the journey of "killing mice" nicely.

Playing Ubisoft's Far Cry 5 is just like eating a McDonald's Big Mac. It's really appetizing but never surprises me. I already know what it tastes like before actually biting in, considering all the Big Macs are made by the same recipe. So is Far Cry 5.

Cult of the Lamb is worthy of attention from both roguelike fans and simulation players - even if the gameplay is a bit lacking in both design depth. But the developers know how to use hell jokes to keep players interested.

Dead Island 2 is a traditional blood and guts slaughterfest, and if you haven't grown tired of zombie bashing by 2023, it's still worth a play. The experience is both heavenly and hellish, like the average genius who tries to entertain but can't always be sure if the next act is a hit or a miss.

Desktop Dungeons: Rewind has many classic designs that still look fresh today. In fact, this 3D remastered version hardly improves on the original, the graphics losing the delicate flavour of the original 2D art. If you were to ask a veteran player who has spent hundreds of hours playing Desktop Dungeons, the answer would undoubtedly be "not as good as the original". But if you were to ask whether Rewind is fun, I think it's still worth playing.

Warriors Orochi 4 is one of the best Warriors series games with more than 170 warriors, and the Ultimate version makes the gameplay even deeper. However, the updated content is very limited and a little bit expensive. For those gamers who already own Warriors Orochi 4, it doesn't seem worthy.

Considered that "Variants" has been completely taken away, and "Abilities" are simplified, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville definitely failed some expectations, but now it is more rookie-friendly. We can still have tons of fun within, thanks to the new characters and maps.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is undoubtedly a competent ARPG, with some commendable elements in its combat and exploration. However, it's disappointing that, aside from the impressive art design and nostalgic appearances of certain characters from previous entries, it feels like BioWare has strayed from the series' original essence. The familiarity is there, but it lacks the deeper connection that longtime fans might have hoped for.

Boti: Byteland Overclocked may not offer groundbreaking gameplay, but it effectively integrates its theme into the level design and storytelling. Whether you play alone or with friends, you'll find yourself immersed in the joyful world of Byteland.

With cute axolotls and a creative theme, AK-xolotl makes a fantastic first impression. Though the game's roguelike gameplay lacks depth, the challenging shmup keeps you enjoying this wildly imaginative journey.
