As a big fan of the franchise, I had incredibly great expectations. And I haven't been disappointed. All the series' strengths were perfectly brought over to the next generation of gaming consoles, which makes GTAIV a must-have for fans, and probably everybody else as well. But this doesn't mean that GTA IV is without weaknesses. The camera and the auto-aim-system are still giving players a hard time in bigger battles, and the basically great multiplayer-mode isn't perfectly programmed either.

Some might complain that Civ V lacks features of its predecessors, but in the end the streamlining makes it a better game.

PS3 users now have the chance to finally grab their copy of Mass Effect 2. If you haven't played it already on the PC or the XBox 360 Mass Effect 2 is a real treat for you on the PS3 with all DLCs included.

Yes, there might be some problems with the AI, and yes, the multiplayer is not fully integrated yet, but despite that I simply have to recommend this game to everyone who’s interested in RTS games. The enormous singleplayer campaign and the awesome strategic depth just make up for all the other flaws, that will surely be sorted out by the patches to come, anyway.

Fable 2 fulfills all promises that the original Fable made, and improves upon it... a bloody lot. Long live Fable 2! Long live the era of heroes!

Compared to other Shooters of today, Crysis 2 manages to stand out easily. Graphics, Sound, Handling, Story, Gameplay-variety, Content ... Crysis 2 has it all. The only problem is: If you compare it to its own predecessor, things are starting to get complicated. Because to my mind, Crysis 1 was, in fact, the better game. So if you haven't played it yet, you'd better change that ASAP. If you did however: Go get Part Two, it's definitely still worth the money.

In terms of RAGEs story, there is a lot of wasted potential in this otherwise brilliant shooter. Nevertheless: id's newest IP offers great atmosphere, spot-on gunplay, cool weapons, funny vehicle-combat and solid graphics; that leaves us hoping for Carmack's promised texture-patch.

Two Worlds 2 has lots of different quests, lots of Multiplayer-ideas and lots of possibilities. Two Worlds II earned the crown for "Best roleplaying game" ... for now.

Napoleon: Total War doesn't redefine Total War but that was never its intention. The bottom line is that Napoleon: Total War is a must have for all who like those dashing battles of the 19th century.

The Old Republic focuses heavily on the story which is what makes leveling fun. However once you reach the level cap the game gets far too repetitive too soon.

Gentlemen, get yourselves Bionic Commando Rearmed. It is well worth every damned electronic cent you spend on it. Shinkiro was (Metal Slug, Dead Rising, King of Fighters) the driving force in BCRs art-design, which makes it all the more a killer retro-portation. [Issue#15]

Dead Space feels like an admittedly fetid yet refreshing wind to the old genre of survival horror. I’d certainly not recommend playing it by night or in total darkness unless you are of awesome health and gladly would give Alma a handshake without thinking twice about the consequences. Independent, unfamiliar and unknown: And Yet It Moves is the kind of game you rarely ever get to review – and yet I instantly fell in love with the fresh style, interesting concept and funny gameplay. It may not be a high-budget-production, but it’s certainly worth your while and money!

Frontlines managed to meet my expectations pretty well. Despite the fact, that I was hoping for additional graphical brilliance (especially in terms of the range of vision), the boys and girls at Kaos Studios managed to create a game, that nicely satisfies my personal multiplayer-shooter-likings: New ideas, uncountable (and well balanced) possibilities, cool vehicles, nice maps for up to 64 shooter fans and a single-player mode, that deserves its name. Anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of playing Everybody's Golf on his PSP yet, hasn’t had any true fun on that particular handheld.

Conviction is a really good reboot of the series, even so I sometimes miss the feeling of the older titles. Nevertheless the game is really fun, especially the multiplayer-part.

This can be kept rather simple: Any racing fan with a need for speed, who hasn’t already got Burnout Paradise for console simply needs this cool package. Risen is a great role-playing experience, it is just fun to investigate every corner of the mysterious island. The story and quests are quite varied and the game world gives you an credible feeling of being a part of it. The developers have focused on the strengths of the first two Gothic parts and didn't make any technically mistakes. Role-players should go and grab it!

As we already fell in love with the console-versions, it's no surprise that the Windows Live version managed to get us just as excited, if not even a bit more. That's mainly because of the PC-versions improved graphics, that, especially in slow motion and when using DX11, are simply going to blow your mind.

Dragon Age is definitely a game that takes time - and you will like to take that time. BioWare created a dark and well polished fantasy world which offers many things to do for a roleplay-gamer.

Bastion is definitely the indie game of the year 2011. It's an amazing game with an amazing art style combined with funny gameplay and ten very good hours of story which can easily be played again.

Bioware's latest RPG will hit still does not approach the complexity of the former Baldur's Gate. All RPG fans who already own the main game should still buy awakening.

Whoever is not immediately enthralled by the graphic of the game will at latest be as soon as he tried the 6-vs.-6-online- or the “be a pro”-mode. EA never truly manages to release a proper sequel – but NHL09 should be counted among the top-3 sports games. [Issue # 16]

That's how a good port has to look! The power of the PC is well used, but not spent without use, and a few extras spice up the game. Especially in two-player-mode Resident Evil 5 is great fun.

Chrono Trigger is simply brilliant and an absolute must-have for any RPG-Fan – but everyone else should also take a closer look despite the simple 2D-graphics and the lack of a German translation.

The unusual graphics are nice, and the puzzles are not only mindboggling, but also great fun. Machinarium shows what you can do with simplest methods.

Thanks to the Devil Bringer, the amount of fun you’ll have with the gameplay skyrockets and the new turbo-mode brings even more twists to the already sublime action. DMC4 may well commit the sin of backtracking through levels, but its barely noteworthy a sacrilege this time around, due to the fact that the gamer then controls a different character. [Issue#15]

Battlefield: Bad Company isn’t a revolution for the genre, for it offers typical Battlefield-Gameplay - and if you already loved its predecessors, you will love this one as well. Initially, what we get is a small evolutional step, and I hope that the competition will follow suit, because the destruction you can cause isn’t just looking great, it adds several new facets to the game.

Metal Gear Online is really a damn lot of fun for hours…at least after one has struggled through the rather annoying application process and finally managed to get online. Apart from some minor glitches in some of the context sensitive actions (the very same as in the main game) everything runs smoothly.

WAR pretty much kept all its promises. It’s certainly different from all the other MMORPGs out there – it’s an all-out war in the world of Warhammer.

Shattered Horizon manages to expand the first person shooter genre by literally another dimension. Sadly enough it is very well possible that this title might be relegated to a niche existence because of its originality.

The way the story is told (and the story itself) could have been better. But despite that and some minor problems concerning the multiplayer we can definitely name DoW2 the first big RTS-Highlight in 2009 and a must-have for RTS-Fans.

BioShock 2 is a great game, but feels more like BioShock 1.5 than a full sequel.

Improved graphics, a nice presentation and even more variety make DiRT2 an absolute "Must-have" for anyone who is even slightly interested in offroad-racing!

Two utterly different genres merge to achieve something really special - for the fourth time. A must-have for any gamer passionate about J-RPGs.

Fans of its predecessor are certainly going to be pleased with the immense content that Brotherhood offers, even though it doesn't really continue the plot around the former barkeeper, now Assassin Desmond Miles and its ancestors. Everybody who's new to the series, should probably go for AC1 or the even better AC2 though. As for the now released PC-Version: Its definitely the best looking of them all and offers some additional content out of the box. So if you're able to choose between platforms, get this one.

Innovative and a lot of fun - just something to get your ass up and do something good for your body. It's a pity that Wii Fit is just an addition to normal exercises. It can't compete with normal jogging or riding a bike but it's a glimpse into our possible future showing us how training may look like in some years where it will be possible to train your body in any area of the world you like just by pressing a button. Wii Fit will however create a new virtual fitness community producing some masters in yoga and other disciplines all around the world.

BioShock 2 is a great game, but feels more like BioShock 1.5 than a full sequel.

Lost Horizon could be one of the games that could stand the test of time and become a classic. However, only time will tell.
